I've lived in Munich for about a year now and have been taking my chances with cheap hair salons…read moresince my hair is relatively simple, however the last couple cuts haven't been that great. So, I decided to suck it up and shell out a some cash for a good haircut. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to pay absurd prices for a good haircut, but I do think the probability that you'll get what you want is higher. Anyway, I gave SHAG a try last week since it's in my neighborhood and was very pleased with my haircut. After being offered a drink, I was consulted in the beginning on exactly what I wanted to do with my hair, and in the end it was one of the best cuts I've gotten since moving over here. The head message was also a nice bonus :) I'll definitely be back!

The salon is very poorly furnished and lacks a pleasant atmosphere, not to mention the sewage smell. The staff speaks very little English and almost no German. After the head spa, my hair was "dry combed." In the end, I was charged €75 for additional washing and blow-drying, without even being asked! I cannot recommend this place at all

I've now been going here for a couple of years. I was sent there by a husband of a co-worker…read morebecause I have curly hair (which, if you know curly hair is very hard to cut properly). At first I had Florian who gave me some of the best haircuts that I've ever had. Sadly, Florian had to leave. I've now got a different guy who is quite good but I still haven't fully trained him to do it like Florian. Really, my only complaint is the cost. I pay 35 Euros plus tip for less than 30 mins. worth of work. However, I suppose that I good haircut might be worth more than I think. Anyway, try it. Just don't blame me if you end up with a mullet or David Hasselhof hair.
