Saying that your restaurant is a "hip bar" right on the signage is disastrous. It's akin to calling yourself humble or saying in a job interview that your weakness is that you're a perfectionist. It's so cringey and is such a copout.
Anyway, Graffiti in Eastwood boldly emblazons on their signage that they are a hip bar. I will not comment on the merits and finer points of their hipness, but rather focus on their food and add in some other general observations. I was able to try "The Bestsellers" - a platter of as you'd expect, their bestsellers, which consist of shrimp popcorn, cheesy fries, nachos, and beef salpicao. They try to do their best to style all of this presentably and do so, against all odds. In all honesty, it is pretty decent.
The best thing about Graffiti is that it is unassuming. Never mind the signage gaffe. They don't make bold claims that they are the go-to bar in Eastwood, especially since they are just a stone's throw away from Distillery. They are a reliable fallback. If your favorite bars in Eastwood are packed, Graffiti, just like an ex, is there to welcome you back with open arms. read more
