Side alley and parking lot
Alston F.

I love art and graffiti is such an expression of art to the fullest. When I found this on Google, I just had to check it out while I was in Baltimore on a Sunday afternoon. It was super easy to find. There's a parking lot right next to it that you just have to pay to park. The alley is pretty small, but there's so much to see. I walk through the whole thing and even crashed the photo shoot. I thought it was safe, especially since it was broad daylight but I probably wouldn't come at night. They do have cameras everywhere so they are aware of like who comes and goes. I wouldn't be able to drive down it but definitely walking through is possible.

Thank you, Baltimore. This place is amazing and beautiful. We walked here between appointments nearby. It was so worth the walk.

A good buddy of mine moved near Graffiti Alley which gave me extra motivation to return. No long reviews here, it's just as dope as I remembered during my first visit with my then girlfriend, now Wife. This go-round was a guys day type deal where we smoked cigars, drank cognac and took some really cool photos. To those that are like me - you enjoy authentic Baltimore culture... this place is a must visit. For the art. For the vibes. Just because.

Came here as a tourist attraction and it's an awesome place to take pictures and like others have said maybe shoot a music video. We came at night so I deducted a star, very sketch neighborhood and wouldn't recommend coming at night unless you keep your head on a swivel and you're ready to accept whatever may happen. With that being said, a really cool place to come check out

I have to say this was quite a neat find, thanks to Yelp. And it's definitely an "Instagrammable" location! I had the pleasure of visiting the Graffiti Alley in Winter/Fall 2022. To be exact, the location of the Graffiti Alley is: Charles North - Howard St & W 19 1/2 St. It is an L-shaped alley owned by the Graffiti Warehouse; you can never predict what designs you're going to see because frequently it's repainted throughout the year. Fun fact: Graffiti Alley is the only legal art space in Baltimore City where street artists can create their work freely without fear of prosecution. Although for some people graffiti may be seen as uncivil vandalism, for others it is an art filled with heart and soul for those whose lives are shaped around it. If you're ever in Baltimore, I highly recommend checking out the Graffiti Alley and definitely getting some cool pics for IG :)

This is a dope little spot. I have been several times but on this trip, I took a few family members who were visiting. Its definitely a hot spot for a photoshoot or to simply browse and appreciate the art. I love that its easily accessible and in the heart of city.

I like learning how Hip Hop has influenced each community I visit. Here is one spot that I heard about. Here was my experience Saturday noon. Parking: There's street parking and a parking lot across. You do have to pay based on the day/time. Feels: The spot is not too far away from Maryland life but you are still in an urban area. Be smart and be alert but in the day time especially with multiple people it's a safe place. The art is pretty cool to admire and chop it up with artist that are visiting. Overall: 5 Stars I dig authentic spots and this community. I dig the story behind it plus it's free! For those looking a hip photogenic spot, check this out. #HipHopEd TL;DR Tips: * For those trying to take those cute IG Pics, I'd say come in the early summer time.

Graffiti Alley is a beautiful gem to the city, easy to miss. Because of the pandemic, I have been looking for ways to express my creativity. I had an opportunity to express myself through a photoshoot with a local photographer. This location is perfect for IG content, marketing a product, or creating a music video. Be warned this place smells horrible! Try not to touch anything! Bring your Lysol and hand sanitizer just in case. Entry is free and there is plenty of free parking as well. Make sure to get there earlier to enjoy the space without interruptions.

Cute little tourist attraction. Met a lot of dope artists there tagging the walls. Whenever I'm in Baltimore I love to stop by and get some pics for the gram because the scenery is always different. They charge for parking now but it's not too expensive.

Graffiti Alley is exactly what it sounds like. I'd passed by it on my bus route multiple times and decided to walk to check it out this past weekend. It's not a huge area, and it's definitely graffiti (not murals). And, yeah, it's an alley (definitely don't dress up or wear open toe shoes because you're going to take cute pictures for Instagram here). It changes up constantly, because people graffiti over each other all the time (I saw a woman with a spray can at 8 am on my bus route this week!). It's worth checking out if you're interested in graffiti or need a cool new profile picture.

My comedy group (@lpscomedy757) and I looked up "The top 10 most instagrammable places in Baltimore" after we were booked for a performance, and Graffitti Alley was on the top of the list. We are all about a good photoshoot honey, so when we discovered that Baltimore had a whole alleyway covered in colorful top to bottom graffiti, we were in there. The alleyway was so beautiful, and made for some great pictures. Something cool to note about the graffitti on the alleyway is that it is always changing because artists are always painting over it; We actually met an artist who was painting over the wall to create a fresh new mural during our visit. His name is @thedeadpiratewestly on Instagram. I really love that this space provides a safe and legal space for street artist to express their creativity in an urban area. Overall, I recommend Grafftti Alley to anyone who lives in or is visiting Baltimore. Time to grab your phones, tablets, or DSLRs and take in the most breathtaking artwork Baltimore has to offer!

So pictures of Graffiti alley kept popping up on my friend's Instagram years ago. I asked my friend where this place was and he said it was a photographer's secret. This dude likes to tell chicks he's a photographer and takes them there for "photo shoot" dates. Keep in mind he's an IT guy with a droid phone, not a pro photographer. So I found it anyway, on Yelp. Under local flavor, so there Dave, how you like them apples? This place is truly a hidden gem. It is a L-shaped alley filled with amazing graffiti from local artists. This is the only place where graffiti is legal and the art changes. According to Atlas Obscura, this alley was a heroin shooting alley and a blow job spot for people who didn't want to rent a room at the motel next door. But the "Graffiti Warehouse", a studio filled with street art, decided to locate its headquarters adjacent to the the alley in 2005 with the hope of converting the criminal backstreet into a painted haven for artists. The alley was easy to get to. I found a parking lot right by it and walked right up with my photo crew. There was only one other couple there that seem to go between screaming fighting to taking pictures and of each other so it's kind of strange. So if you are in Baltimore, stop in for a colorful treat.

** 5 Year Review Update **…read more Fells Point continues to be great for the most part. Quality restaurants and boutiques, gorge water views, some of the coolest folks you'd ever meet. Some establishments have left, some have joined. The crowds stay heavy. Sadly lately, the crime has increased making it sometimes difficult to enjoy. Parking is gawd awful, but worth the hustle. I pray this area improves as Baltimore City deserves this.

Fell's Point is located along the north shore of the Baltimore Harbor and just less than 10 miles from our hotel... we made our way here on MLK Day. Surprisingly, not all the businesses were closed on a holiday. We arrived around 10:30a and found parking. There are a few options for parking including metered parking and convenient lots and garages. We found an open spot on Thames Street. Fell's Point is beautiful as it was once a bustling shipbuilding port. We walked the snowy sidewalks and enjoyed the views of the wharf. Fell's Point is a historic waterfront and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore. It has served as the home to jazz singer Billie Holiday and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. I loved the cobblestone streets with many waterfront restaurants and bars and the local cute boutiques shops. We had brunch at Barcocina and did some window shopping at the cozy shops. We also shared a pastry purchased from Pitango Bakery Cafe located right there at the waterfront. Review #3664

I love Baltimore…read more Jeremy and I had plans to meet up with a group of friends to celebrate Chris's birthday at 6pm. But the weather was lovely and we were bored sitting around the apartment so we went to waste some time downtown. We parked in Little Italy and walked the entire promenade for like the 15th time. There's always something to see... this time we saw TWO couples dressed for their wedding, and an entire dinner cruise worth of people wearing white. I see the need for some updates in the area. New neighborhoods are springing up, and old neighborhoods are being gentrified, but the area around the harbor remains the same... only slowly losing its charm to a mishmash of stores that don't offer anything unique, and over-priced restaurants. Though I was glad to see Angeli's pizza - we had Chris's birthday dinner at their Little Italy location last year and had a blast. Rash Field is a hot mess. I don't know what they think they're doing with that space, but it's ugly, broken, unmaintained, and dangerous. It's supposed to be a family friendly place, with a (scary as hell looking, Silent Hill-esque) playground but just a quick look around revealed many places where children should not go. I miss that crazy fountain, and the merry-go-round. But the new marsh area by the aquarium is pretty cool. I would have been absolutely thrilled if the otters had shown themselves, but alas I couldn't find any hint of them. I also adore the paddle dragons. And now there are electric pirate ships. No paddling required! Sadly, they are in no way accessible, but I still enjoy watching them. It's absolutely possible to have a great time at the Inner Harbor without spending any money (except for parking) just people/boat watching. Street performers, such as the dude playing the violin, provide the soundtrack. There are a lot of events held throughout the year in this area. Nothing much was going on when we were there, but the Book Festival is coming up... and the German Christmas Village is fantastic. I highly recommend my city. Go check it out.

It's not really an art school (hence the "anti-art school" in the title), it's more like a monthly drink and draw social club with live models in amazing costumes (OK, generally burlesque-esque costumes...over 21 only please), where for 4 hours, you can sketch away and remember a time when "carpel tunnel" was a disease you got from..."other" activities, not from creating 457 page Board Reports. I do miss the old Cross Street Market before the complete renovation in 2018, which seemed to cater to the average local, however, the current, more modern market certainly is a gem in Federal Hill despite the more expensive food prices. I like the selection of cuisines featured. The diversity covers bar food, dinner food, quick bites, and dessert. And of course there are plenty vendors serving crab dishes. Some of the great vendors have come and gone, like the pretzel dog vendor which for a long time was the only reason I would visit Cross Street Market. I appreciate the seating made available in the areas near each food vendor. The space is utilized efficiently, from the storage of food in the freezers near the dining tables, to the small stages where artists perform. The market is a great pre-game destination and option to watch the game if you skip the stadium altogether. Keep in mind, on NFL game day this place gets packed, so arrive early.
