We initially hired Grade-A Tree Services to remove a very large pine that died over the winter. We were so impressed by their quick response, coordination and professionalism, I recommended them to my neighbor who hired them to remove several dead / sickly trees. The project manager recommended Grade-A Landscaping to remove a large berm that held one of the trees. They unearthed a lot of surprises, and overcame so many challenges. More improvements followed and the end results were so impressive. We hired them to remove several evergreen trees and shrubs from our beds, but primarily to address a large area in the front where soil runoff and tree roots were problematic. We are beyond pleased with the new retaining wall (pictured). A few days later a driver miscalculated parking in the driveway and broke the corner stones. I texted Nick and while weather caused delays he kept me in the loop until a couple weeks later when the team arrived and fixed it. These guys really care and own up to their commitments. Absolutely perfect job. They showed up with 8 guys, three trucks and three machines (one of which was a pink chipper supporting breast cancer) and worked on four big trees and a fence line. It was a big job with great mounds of limbs and when they left it was pristine clean. Trees were trimmed exactly as we wanted. These guys are the real deal. read more

I had a tree suffer substantial damage during the January 2019 snow storm. Although I reached out to several local tree services, Grade-A Tree Care was the only one with the professionalism to actually get back with me. Communication with the office staff was responsive and pleasant. They provided a free estimate, and the work was done a couple weeks later. The delay was reasonable considering the backlog of work with the unprecedented amount of tree damage in the area following the storm. This review is solely based on customer service as I did NOT use Grade-A Tree Care for any of their tree removal services. I contacted Grade-A via their website and received an email within 10 minutes. Once I provided them with my address I was sadly told that I wasn't in their service area (I'm North of the river) but provided me with a company that would be able to help. SO, while I can't talk about their tree removal abilities, I think their customer service is pretty great and I appreciated their prompt reply and friendliness. No damage to my yard, amazing cleanup of brush and debris...and the trees look so amazing. Jeremy with Grade-A Tree Care came to our home at the end of June and provided a written estimate for removal of a fallen tree. We were able to obtain a cheaper estimate from a different company, but unfortunately that company fell through. I contacted Grade-A yesterday and offered them the work. The very friendly receptionist said that shouldn't be a problem and scheduled a time for Jeremy to come out today and discuss it further. Jeremy called this morning and said they were refusing the job because our home is too far away and not in their coverage area. So why did you provide an estimate in the first place? I asked Jeremy this question and he said he didn't realize how far away our house was until he came out, and he just provided the estimate as a courtesy since he was already there. This answer is bogus. First: Have you never heard of Google Maps? You could have known exactly how far away we were before you drove out to do the estimate! Second: Grade A's website states - and this is a direct quote - "we will dispatch teams to all ends of the Kansas City metro." We live in Wyandotte County. Jeremy told me our house, which is in the CITY OF KANSAS CITY, KANSAS, is not in the Kansas City metro area. Hmm. When I questioned Jeremy about these things, he said this was my fault for hiring a different tree company first, and that I should be upset with them instead. Second, he threw the nice receptionist under the bus and told me she should have informed me yesterday that our house was too far away. Honestly I don't think distance has anything to do with it. The Grade-A website states they handle jobs "From Peculiar to Platte City and from Grain Valley to Gardner." I looked up the distances to those cities from Grade-A's listed address. The distance to my house is 26.6 miles. The distance to Gardner is 27 miles. Grain Valley: 34 miles. And Platte City: 42.9 miles! (By the way, I determined this using Google Maps.) So I'm not sure what the real reason is... Why wouldn't Grade-A be willing to do a job in Kansas City, Kansas, which is much closer than Platte City? I don't know the real reason they turned down our job, but I'm pretty sure it's not distance. I'd love to know the real reason. Let me say that I was very upset when I spoke to Jeremy this morning. This gigantic tree has been sitting in our backyard for almost two months, and we've been wrangling with the insurance company and multiple tree services to get it removed. I took some of that frustration out on Jeremy, and for that I apologize. And I recognize that Grade-A has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. But it's a shady business practice to provide an estimate you have no intention of honoring. And it's false advertising to claim your service area is larger than it really is. read more

We've had these guys out twice for a massive tree in our front yard and some smaller ones in our backyard. They're fast, efficient and do great work! These folks came and removed two very poorly placed trees today. No fence damage. Which would mean more if I had thought to take before photos. Lol The trees were basically shoving my fence over. No debris left behind. It's as if they were never here, except the trees are gone. Very friendly and professional! Not my first tree removal but definitely the best! We hired this company 2 months before we eventually fired them. After originally hiring them, they said they would be out in 2 weeks to complete the work. We heard "2 weeks" for 2 months. We would have to track them down, call and leave messages, work pretty hard to get them to respond only to have them not show up again and again. Never a call or explanation as to why they no showed. Recent storms and major tree damage in the area is not an excuse to say you will show up and leave us waiting. There are too many great tree services in the area to put up with this company and their horrible customer service. As a side note, the only apology or response my husband or I have gotten from this company is on a public Facebook review. read more

Extremely pleased with their services. We got 3 estimates and they were very competitive and he seemed very honest and professional in his recommendations. This is a busy time of the year so he estimated it would be approximately 4 weeks. In about 3 weeks they called to schedule a firm date. The team arrived on time and did an excellent job.
