If you want to learn more, they always offer. It's always up to you. The folks here are very diverse, and it comes through in the language and music often; its a wonderful thing to witness. Although I will probably never be an every-Sunday type of person, this place is very welcoming and they genuinely care about how you are doing. This place has great childcare, massive seating. The music here is probably the best part of all of it. There are fantastic Professional and amateur musicians/singers who home their craft with care and really really deliver its time. If you enjoy being around a diverse and genuine set of people that represent the new Nashville, I can't recommend a better church.

Before ever going to Joy Church I used to have a tag line on my email that read, "It's not about…read morereligion...it's about a relationship" and upon my first time at the church Pastor Jim stated "There's something about Joy Church I want you all to know. We aren't religious. We never have been and never will be. We are about having a relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ." WOW! This guy must have been reading my email. But that was only the tip of the iceberg. I was actually ENJOYING the message he was delivering because he was funny BUT not just to be funny. He always followed it with a bible verse to back it up. Pastor Jim is a Cominister (part comedian and part minister) or he is a Ministedian (part minister and part comedian). I kept coming back. I was looking for the ego to eventually appear. I have been attending Joy for over six years now and I still haven't seen it. What I have seen are people that love you almost as much as your dog can. (They haven't started wiggling their behinds when I come in the door like my dog does, but their love, caring and hugs are a close second). So, if you want to hear the word, COME TO JOY CHURCH. If you want to learn and grow in the Lord, COME TO JOY CHURCH. If you just need a hug or ten, COME TO JOY CHURCH. If you want to see my ORANGE car, COME TO JOY CHURCH! If you want somebody that will pray with and for you, PLEASE COME TO JOY CHURCH. Like the pastor says, if you give us a year and are all in, you won't be the same person you are now in a year's time. Come worship the Lord with us won't you?

Pastor Randy was on screen and that is a first for us but we really didn't care as he preached the word at our level. My wife and I have been going to Southpointe for over four years or more and have always enjoyed Matt and Daryl's message of the day. No one is there to hold your hand and guide you to the sanctuary but it really isn't hard to find. When you walk in, its on the right past the coffee/greeting area. Plus, there is always someone at the front of the sanctuary to say hi, shake your hand, and open the door for you. The worship is always solid and I love the monthly communion and daily repentance. After searching for churches and leaving Belmont Church years ago, my wife and I found the spirit of God again here at Southpointe. I'm not the most outgoing person and usually sit on the back rows, but I've been waved to, greeted, and have shaken hands with numerous members over the years. In fact before every sermon starts, the pastor advises his congregation to greet one another. So, for all purposes of this church being a fake, it's not. The message is Christ centered, the people are honest about their own struggles (even pastors), and it has made me want to be closer to God and be an example for my family.

To them Jesus is simply an example not the atoning substitutionary sin sacrifice that paid our sin debt in full so that we can have a true relationship with God and the only way to salvation. That's what the gospel is and what the Bible says. They don't believe in the work of the cross only as an EXAMPLE on how to live right. Very important you know about false teachings before you join a church it could literally cost you your salvation by getting the gospel wrong and denying the Holy Spirit. Paul said it clearly and how you can discern against false gospels. Even after he would be at a church soon after false teachers would come in. Jesus warned us 3 times about false prophets and teachers. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 New International Version 2 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power. Ephesians 2:8-9 New International Version 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. Galatians 1:4: The Lord Jesus Christ is the One "who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father." He gave Himself for our sins; He paid the penalty and provided atonement.
