I found this mass very reverent. It is the oldest church in Nashville and there pews are the old fashioned kind but they have added kneelers. Because it is downtown they do have a security officer at the back of the church before, during and after the service. It is a very peaceful and beautiful old church. I am happy to have attended on the memorial of Our Lady of Fatima May 13!

Built in 1849, it is one of three Egyptian Revival churches remaining in the US. It is nicknamed "Karnak on the Cumberland." Notable features include the distinctive columns with lotus like capitals and the winged sun disk along the frieze. The winged disk is a reference to the Ancient Egyptian sun-god, Ra. Stained glass windows show ornate landscapes of the Nile and the desert, including palm trees and lotus flowers. The prominent church members included Presidents Andrew Jackson and James K. Polk. The building also served as a Union hospital during the Civil War. Interesting to read about the history of the church on a dedication marker placed when the church became The Downtown Presbyterin Church after the First Presbyterian Church moved to a new location.

And I think that was the missing ingredient to perfection! The Belonging Co volunteers and staff anticipated every need and every minute detail. The level of professionalism that would be nothing short of Oscar worthy. The check-in process, TBCO Security, Guest Services, music, lighting, Kids team, Youth team, Mother's station, Lounge area etc etc... Everything was just perfect!!!! Hope Darst, Kari Jobe and Natalie Grant brought a slice of Heaven down to the Municipal Auditorium this weekend along with the worship team from The Belonging Co. If you've ever been to a Christian concert, imagine getting down with The Best of THE BEST cos that's what TBCO Conference 2022 was. I was visiting Nashville for a…read moreweekend and was lucky enough to experience Friday Night Fire (their weekly Friday night spontaneous worship nights) and their Sunday morning service during my short visit. I so wish I lived closer so I could attend every week. I know the family who started the church and their story is remarkably inspiring. The Lord has blessed their church from its beginning and I cannot wait to see what else is in store for their church community. From pouring into the lives of their neighbors and Nashville natives, to cultivating a community of artistic and creative talent, to creating a space for people to authentically connect with God and encounter His love, they are blessing the city of Nashville. They are a church unlike any other I have ever visited. Whether you call Nashville home or are visiting like I was, I highly recommend going to Harvest Sound. I encountered God (and a precious, inviting sense of community) in a new way while I was there. I want everyone to experience something like that - it's an indescribable blessing.

A bunch of lovely, friendly people who love connecting with others and I felt welcomed by not one or two but a lots of people who attend. They all made me feel a strong sense of belonging. I also love their music selection - they present an awesome range of songs that lift the spirit and make me want to sing loud. Belmont is blessed with superb musicians and singers that know how to create an awesome atmosphere of celebration. I love that the light streams into the room on a Sunday morning as we're singing. The preaching is great too and what I find particularly special about Belmont Church is their commitment to social justice and being a resource to the needy in Nashville. I like being part of a church with a big heart and open arms.
