Except there happened to be an idiot answering thier phones today.I called to see if an appointment was necessary. Unfortunately some guy answers the phone plainly "Hello". I asked if this was the gym, he rudely says "yeah what do you want". Really?! I decided to hang up. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and show up, maybe they had an idiot answering their phone that day. Nope!!! I'm guessing he's the owner and trainer!! I show up with another adult and two teens who were ready to sign up for boxing classes. We step inside and the gym is empty, zero patrons and the guy says "Yeah what do you want". I told him that we were there to see the gym and talk about pricing and signing up. He just points to the empty gym and says "that's the gym", what else do you want. WTF?! Is this really happening. Still, I remained calm and asked to walk around, he says "yeah but don't touch anything!" very rudely. At that point I walk around and see that he has all the right basic equipment. However because of his shitty attitude, we decided to walk right out. No way am I paying $260 a month for two teens and $600 for 10 sessions with an asshole! If we were training and everything..... SURE talk shit to me and get me pissed off....but no way am I giving a complete douche bag my money. This is not how you do business, get business or deal with potential clients who pay you money!! I'd rather take shitty boxing classes at the gym than to give this turd any money!

Today I came back to talk to the manager and the AGM Jerimiah Sims told me the only thing he can do is to talk to the other guy ant not ban him from the gym nor can not pull the videos cuz there is no cameras upstairs as he said!!! I usually go to the Beverly Hills gym but they are renovating our building (shared with Equinox) so I decided to get a membership close to home since I've been working remote since Dec 2024. I believe most Equinox gyms have a standard and this meets it. It's a bit smaller than the Beverly Hills gym but it gets the job done. They have the same amenities as the Beverly Hills gym and the staff is just as nice. Upon arrival you will always be greeted with a smile and the people at the front desk are always welcoming and helpful. I go early in the mornings but would love to go later just to try their smoothies. Parking is hassle free when I go and I haven't had any issues. I have not showered there yet since I live 5 mins away, so I can not comment on the change of soap and shampoo products people have had an issue with. Overall, I love Equinox, the people, the service, the convenience and the locations are perfect. I do wish the hours on the weekends were the same as the weekdays so I could get my early morning workouts in before the kids early morning soccer games. OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

When I started filming for my own safety, management threw *me* out instead of addressing the harassment. No one ever reached out -- I went back on my own to speak with management, and they told me my membership might be revoked. I felt unsafe, singled out, and discriminated against for my political views. As a paying member who always respected the space, I expected better. This location failed to protect me and punished me for defending myself. Think twice before joining if you care about fairness or inclusivity. Update: a rude district manager has since called, not to hear about what happened or to offer help, but to revoke my membership. I wouldn't feel safe going back here regardless, but it was disappointing to hear that even he was perpetuating the toxicity of the situation.

With the upgrade, there were a few backend issues, which meant I interacted with the front desk more than usual. What stood out to me was how positive that experience was because of the people working there. The front desk team at this location has been consistently warm, welcoming, and supportive. Every interaction I've had has been friendly and reassuring. Going to the gym can already feel intimidating for a lot of people, and having staff who greet you, smile, and genuinely want to help makes a big difference in whether you feel comfortable walking in the door. I especially want to mention Uriel. I'm not sure of his exact role, but he truly represents the tone of the front desk team. He's kind, patient, and attentive, and he makes you feel seen rather than rushed or dismissed. Employees like him are a big reason members feel safe and encouraged to keep showing up. A couple of days ago, I went in again to check on the status of my upgrade. The person assisting me wasn't sure how to resolve it and asked another staff member to step in. That individual, Rob, who I later learned is the general manager, had a noticeably different demeanor from the rest of the team. From the start, his tone felt defensive and closed off. There was no warmth or sense of wanting to help, and the interaction felt uncomfortable. Instead of feeling supported, I felt as though I was inconveniencing him simply by asking a question. In a gym environment, where many members already feel vulnerable, that kind of interaction can be discouraging. What stood out most was the contrast. The front desk staff consistently creates a welcoming and encouraging environment, while this interaction with leadership did the opposite. Leadership tone sets culture, and moments like this can either reinforce or undermine the experience members have. I'm sharing this because the front desk team truly deserves recognition, and because member-facing leadership interactions matter more than people realize.

He asked whether I cared about the age or gender of the personal trainer. I didn't. Given my existing condition, he strongly recommended Ryan Ainsworth. Ryan is exemplary! He has the eye of a physical therapist and is arguably as good as one - if not better! He is kind and nurturing. Whenever I'd whine about the difficulty of an exercise, he'd always encourage me while ensuring that I'd perform that exercise with fidelity. Ryan possesses the sublime ability to immediately adjust specific exercises to meet my personal needs. Ryan's nuanced adjustments are sublime! Current and former managers Bishoy, Johnny (at the Norwalk location), Armando, CJ, and Charlie always exhibited genuine kindness combined with outstanding customer service during times I had to postpone training for extended period of time due to illness, cataract surgeries, and fractured toes as a result of being clumsy at home. Ryan Ainsworth has given me the grace to accept myself, be resilient, and prevail with this "new normal" for which I am eternally grateful!!!

Despite me sending emails and calling ahead of time to confirm that I would not be charged after the three-month agreement, they still charged my card anyway. I don't like to argue, so I took matters into my own hands and showed my bank the emails and explained that I had called to get reassurance beforehand; yet I was still charged. That alone says a lot about their lack of integrity and morality. What made this even more frustrating is that after the bank reimbursed me, management suddenly called me again to "cancel" the training and I forwarded the same email I had already sent months ago stating I wanted to cancel after three months. This felt extremely tedious and reactive, especially since I had already been clear and proactive from the beginning. Please read the Yelp reviews before signing up. Ben is amazing and truly cares about his clients, but management(especially Armando) makes the overall experience unnecessarily frustrating and disappointing.

They've recently created a designated just for the classes which has made more space for you to workout if you're not apart of the class which is awesome because that was the main issue I had. They also hired a new cleaning lady that has been doing a good job at maintaining the place!
