When my mother died, I needed to get engraving work done on a stone that the family had bought years ago after our father had died. I needed to add Mom's death date, get some repairs done on the stone, and have a design added. Some Paris relatives had heard good things about Grace Monuments so I gave them a call.
Erin was very helpful and patient and kind to me. I live out of town and had no idea where the stone was or even the name of the graveyard. She found the stone for me and even sent me pics of it in my email to help me figure out what I wanted done. I initially thought I'd like an angel engraving done and she sent me lots of angel designs, but eventually I decided on the Ten Commandment tablets to match the words "Follow the ten commandments" which had been engraved when Dad died.
Richard worked meticulously on the design. He told me that when he does work on older stones, he strives to make it look like it was done when the stone was originally ordered. He also helped correct a mistake that another monument company had made on the stone years earlier. I am so pleased with the results!
I was also impressed with the care that was taken to help me decide what I wanted. We exchanged many emails and talked on the phone several times before I made up my mind. Mine was a small job, just a little bit of engraving, but I felt like my ideas and my requests were just as important to them as somebody who perhaps had bought a whole stone.
The journey was actually quite healing, the deciding what design to have engraved, the waiting for the work to be done, seeing the finished product, feeling so proud of what I accomplished for my mother, knowing that she would like it. If Grace Monuments hadn't been so kind and so patient and so respectful, or if they had botched the job as the original monuments company had, it would have been a much more painful process for me. They took good care of me, though.
