Is it really church if it's in an industrial building and non demoninational? I was running late but when I pulled up, there was a guy there to help me find a parking spot, and others helped me find a seat with the kind of superb organization you would find on Broadway... But all with the warmth of being welcomed home. Not sure how I expected to feel after the service... I wouldn't say energized in the upbeat sense but more of a calm energy. More centered and peaceful I guess Don't get me wrong, the service was uplifting (wasn't expecting the history lesson on Antarctic Exploration...) and the music is great I think I'm still just processing. I am moved. I feel warmth in my heart and growing up in church that's a rare feeling, usually church was just a chore that I had to do not a message I needed to hear (that I was open to hear). I want to go back. I'm not sure how often, not sure how long for the culture shock to subside but I believe True North Community can help me replenish my soul if I let them

My first visit to St Elizabeth Church was to attend a family baptismal. The church is on a popular…read moreroad in a beautiful neighborhood of the Town of Huntington. The Cathedral is fairly large with plenty of seating for any given service or religious affairs. The church was performing three baptismal at the same time, but given the status of the current pandemic, they did an outstanding job to mitigate exposure to the virus inside the church. The father was wearing a mask while performing the service, which made it difficult to hear him. However, the service was wonderfully translated and surprisingly the young baptismal children did not even cry during the service. I have visited many beautifully architecturally designed churches in the United States and as well as Europe. By common nature, the church is meant to encourage and deliver its patrons hope in something greater than themselves. I often notice that its intonation are interpreted in the design of the altar and the ceilings of a given cathedral. St Elizabeth has demonstrated that impression by their beautifully architecturally designed altar and overall interior design.
