I always get a kick out of eateries in Los Angeles that are named after well-known locales in…read moreMexico. Often, these places don't do their namesakes justice. They don't even come close. However, there are some exceptions. This food truck, located near downtown Los Angeles, is one of those exceptions. I was visiting a buddy of mine one weekday afternoon. He lives off the 5 freeway, and he suggested we come here for some grub. I agreed, so we made the 15 minute drive here. We parked along the same street in which this food truck was located. Upon checking out the menu, I noticed they had a good variety of Mexican food. This includes: birria, tacos, just to name a few. I got some tacos, and some birria to-go. They had some tables set up, so we sat down there to enjoy our food. My buddy got a coca-cola while I got a mineral water to wash down my food. The tacos were very good! They were very tasty, and I was able to get em to the right level of spicy with the condiments that the food truck provided. I enjoyed my food from here, and I will definitely come back again soon.

A truly unexpected GEM of a find!! So good I could eat these tacos and this Consomé every day!…read more Hubby and I love to drive around LA in search of random Taco Trucks or Street Vendors selling tacos. When we were in this area, I searched on Yelp and found this truck. 4 Stars, it must be pretty good! So, we made our way here. At first glance into the truck, a guy was eating so we weren't sure if we could order. He didn't step up to the window. So I stood back and took another peek at him and he came to take our order. Other people came to order after us. One thing I don't like about these places we like to go to (trucks & stands) is that they don't have their prices posted. We did get a receipt here, so we did find out how it all breaks down (after we paid)! I'm finding out that Dorado Tacos cost a bit more than regular street tacos. These deep-fried tacos are the size of Street Tacos and cost $2.28 each (as per our receipt). To me, they are worth every penny spent! The Birria was delicious and was enhanced by the Consomé! If you like a flavorful Consomé without it being super greasy, this is the one for you! This is the first place I've had it with meat in it! Now I don't even need a taco! Haha We ordered one Horchata to accompany our meal. I don't know if they are not selling freshly made Aguas Frescas Horchata due to COVID or if they never do. We were handed a bottle of La Gotita Horchata and surprised that it was better than a lot of homemade Horchatas we get from the trucks & stalls! My mouth is already watering for the Dorado Tacos and Consomé! Time to go back for more!!
