I have a couple of Genie garage doors. Over the last several months, I noticed that the doors seemed to struggle a bit, particularly when opening. They were also sounding loud and "rough". I contacted a couple of companies for estimates to fix or tweak it. The first guy who came out simply did not leave a good first impression. The second guy - Tyler of GR8 Garage Doors - was supposed to come out that same afternoon. He gave me a courtesy call to let me know he was running late and asked if he could still come by. I suggested some morning, instead, which we agreed. When he did come over, he greeted me with a smile, shook my hand and called me by my name. He patiently listened to my concerns about the garage doors. He explained the problem(s) clearly and gave me several options to consider - tweaking the springs, replacing the springs, or getting new garage door motors with new springs. We discussed the pros and cons of each option. In the end, I opted for replacing the springs since they were at least 10 years old. The Genie motors probably still have a few more years left, so we decided to leave them alone for now. Tyler told me he could replace the springs right then and there. I gave him the go-ahead. While working, Tyler continued to be polite, professional and thorough. He also tightened all of the hardware on the doors, as well as lubed the tracks. Tyler gave me pointers on how to keep the rollers/tracks in optimum condition. At the end of the job, I saw a HUGE difference in how the garage doors operated!
