My favorite gifts to give for baby showers are those indestructible books that you can wash with water! They seem to be pretty popular and Hopscotch usually has several different titles from that series. The last time I visited in September 2021, the inventory had expanded quite a bit since I was in the previous year. They have lots of toys, games, apparel, bath and body products, and accessories for younger kids (newborn to about 5 I would say). I didn't notice many options for big kids (12+). I did notice that there are a lot of items in the store that I've never seen before, but I also don't regularly shop at other children's stores. I like that they stock locally made and sustainable items. I also like that you can shop on their website and pick up at the store! They offer curbside pickup, which is great for those not wanting to or unable to go inside. If you're buying a gift, they will bag it up with a cute flower and tag which is so helpful, especially when I sometimes am purchasing a gift on my way to the baby shower, ha!

I've never gone wrong with purchasing a gift here and I definitely will come back. They even have a punch card for loyalty which is amazing. Parking is a little tough since it's right on Monroe Center and street parking but I haven't had a big issue. I'm a huge fan overall and encourage people to stop in if they haven't!

They have comics, graphic novels, manga, board games, blind boxes, and some ttrpgs and trading cards. The staff are always incredibly helpful and kind and will definitely help give you a recommendation based on what you like. I love the area in the front with self-published and local zines. It really is a small gesture but shows an effort to uplift and platform the local community and creatives. This location is definitely smaller than the other I visited, but there's still so much to find! There are several other stores along the street as well as the Art Museum, so it's a great place to stop by on a day out!

Literally get there 2hrs early and feast first... unless you like to game on an empty stomach. BAD THINGS!! It seems that reviews for this store are low when this store has to enforce rules or work with third party rules. Online purchases get lost in the mail, mail takes too long, walmart colab, preordering thousands of dollars 9months in advance and order limits get put in place... that's when people seem to feel slighted. Examples: -Waited for an online order for over a year... before saying anything. -ordering 1k+ in preorder... and a limit cap put on it retroactively. -order canceled for suspected fraud. prices changed before new order. -Store charges more than market price... to make money... ...at a store. -"I've been waiting here, saying nothing for 3minutes, why aren't they helping me, me, and me!? I shouldn't have to ask or be active in getting what I want." -4staff total... 50person event in process, 3different tables have questions, Judge!, 10people in line to buy things, 15 people browsing, full moon and payday, Judge!, 18orders backed up for singles, (hey the bathroom on the left needs some looking into) Judge! Conclusion Most negative reviews are about online interactions going through third-party sellers or when third-party notifications don't work as intended. Almost all of the positive reviews show that the staff work hard, know what they are doing, are keeping the place as clean as possible, stock up as best they can, are trying their best to invite friendly people back, and operate with honor. My review: One of the only places left in this city that people can exist with no cover charge or service fee. I will gladly look here for cards, packs, and events before I ever go online for anything. An extra 10% on the price is an easy amount to pay for a half dozen full-time staff/judges and a place to gather with friends and foes. In-store:10/10 all the way. Online: 10/10 average or 3/10 when things mess up.

The owner let one of us use their restroom but then proceeded to hover over the door and harass them for taking to long. They also followed us out after and said very sarcastically "well at least you got to take a dump" then proceeded to lecture us saying that my family member didn't leave the fan on or spray fragrance. My family member has IBS and was very embarrassed. The owner then replied to a previous review that a friend of theirs got robbed a year back and he tried to say we were trying to do the same to him. We just wanted to see your store of overpriced crap and you basically made us leave because of your preconceived prejudice. Get a camera if you're so scared of someone stealing. Also grow up and understand you have a street store that is open to the public. It is not illegal for us to just look around old man.... Read through the reviews and you will see this isn't the first time he has treated his customers like this.
