If any of the pieces catch your eye, they are willing to discuss prices with you, and if you are willing to pay cash, they are more likely to negotiate with you. They represent a good range of Austrian mid-range priced artists. They have an international presence and often go to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Miami, and New York for exhibitions. They also have a little room below selling fine wines. Stop by!

I did not know he was such a narcissistic twat until he went off to WWI and was humbled and matured by the soldiers he met. He really loved his wife, Edith, though who's to say if he would have stayed faithful if they both lived to old age. I had no idea he died at age 28, and he and his wife died within days of each other, and he died on Halloween 1918. There's a painting by Klimt I wanted to see, Death and Life, but unfortunately two of their floors were closed for some renovations, so I was disappointed that I was unable to view it during my visit to Vienna. It been since my inner rebel brought me to art school, against all opinions and odds. I am in awe to all people this building represent - from Olbrich who designed it, to artists movement it was built for - for love of art, progress and artistic freedom. The intricate details of the facades, golden globe spills out in array of golden leaves and musical lines of the trees. Medusa heads adorn main entrance, and on the side, you can also see three owls, which I love the most. Of course, the main attraction is Klimt's Beethoven Frieze on display - very iconic to whole Art Nouveau movement. (Gift shop at the entrance sells quality posters of most famous art nouveau artists, you would not leave empty-handed) A must see for all Art Nouveau lovers and for all rebel spirits out there.

When he saw it, he liked it too. Out popped the phone and off he wandered to take pictures. There is a small covered shopping area, sort of like a mall. You walk in and there are several small shops around a central bar. Some of the shops have an upstairs, so be sure to check everything out! Hubs isn't much of a shopper, so he got a drink at the bar while waiting for me to finish souvenir hunting before joining him. We each had a drink and I picked up some postcards. The bartender wasn't very talkative, but he was friendly and nice. The shops all carry different stuff, but each is quirky and artsy in it's own way....everything fits in in this area. People do live in these apartments so you can't go in, but my one request is that there are more photos of the apts inside. Of the four photos we do see, you can tell the apts are lined with same tiles and colors throughout. Would like to see more of the interior in photos, while keeping their privacy.

They currently have one of my favorite artists on display: The one and only Mel Ramos. For anyone not familiar with his work, Mel Ramos is a U.S. figurative painter who specializes in the art of nude and was also part of the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. One painting that might come to mind is the famous drawing of the Lucky Strike cigarette pack with the blond bombshell on it. Pin-Up and Pop Art has always fascinated me so it's great to see that Master's work in such a small setting. The exhibit runs until October 12, so be sure to be quick! It's free of charge!
