We signed up with them because my wife was friends with a girl that worked there. She wasn't there long but I stayed out of convenience. Over the years the agency's customer service was lackluster at best. Never the same people on the phone, had to often leave messages and only talked to Shane once in 13 years. I had way better luck with the 800 number, so it begs to ask, why have an agent? Every claim I submitted was through the 800 number, because I couldn't get ahold of my agent. I didn't leave because I found it hard to beat Allstate rates. That was until I recently moved back to the same house that I lived in before. Then I found the rates rose over 60% in 7 years, for the exact same coverage on the exact same house. Wow. Of course the agency could not explain, only that "it's the way Allstate is doing their rates now". Wow great explanation. I pulled two autos, a camper, and a house after 13 years because of course I found homeowners for 60% less somewhere else. Big shock. And btw, the local agency I now work with is 95% better customer service, like almost shocking how much they do. They don't have a solo affiliation, but work hard for you. So to tell you, I feel free, especially the day I sent my cancellation with the Murray Agency and Allstate.
