The receptionist checked in for us(because when he booked the hotel room it accepted and the convention was hold this hotel, so they trust us) and told my husband to call and talk Amex customer service person. We got our room and my talked to the Amex person who told my husband "no tap, no tip, use the scan". So my husband went back to the front desk and told them what he talked with Amex person, then tried to use Amex card but didn't work. They swapped another credit card scanner, but still didn't work. Finally, another card worked, so we made it but hard work. Our room was good size for us but, sink drain was super slow, and we told about it, didn't fixed until we checked out, and room TV didn't work (we heard same complain from the people who attended the convention) and reported but it finally worked in the morning we left. Our hotel room booking plan was included executive lounge plan, we enjoyed cocktail time with some Turkish Pupus and some Turkish sweets. Breakfast was buffet, many selection of Turkish meals. Not everybody could speak English (except receptionist) but their service was common.

There is a lovely art gallery with works that one can buy. The views of the city are great. Breakfast is delicious as well. Hotel is a bit pricey but it's close to the airport-which is very convenient.

Being in Istanbul for 15 hours at the end of our trip, we decided to get a hotel instead of…read moredreading our stay in the airport. The good: It's near the airport so location is great if you need somewhere nearby for the short amount of time. The lobby and computer area are contemporary and a nice set up. They reply quickly to emails if you need help with any accommodations. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. The bad: The complimentary shuttle is hard to find in the airport since they don't have a clear sign like some other near by hotels however the tip is: it's in the arrivals between A and B, it's white and says the hotel logo on the door part. No major restaurants were near by, and the ones which were near by were closed at night when we got to the hotel. The employees at the front desk were extremely rude and didn't want to answer questions and were shooing us away fairly quickly when checking us in. The room was pretty standard however the bed was very uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep the whole night. Also the heat was extreme in the room and we couldn't turn down the heat, in addition they don't have AC, so good luck in the summer if your visiting. Closing thoughts: I rather travel 30-40 minutes to the Sultanahmet part of Istanbul to stay in a much better hotel and pay around the same price.~

Usually the Radisson Blu brand is considered to be one of the top brands along with Marriott Hilton…read moreand Hyatt. When we had an overnight transit in Istanbul i was looking for a good hotel near the airport and after reading reviews on expedia i choose the Radisson Blu as we had stayed with them in other cities. Unfortunately, this Radisson Blu was definitely not up to par. We got to the hotel late around 1130 pm and everything around the hotel was already closed. Also at the airport it was very difficult to find the hotel shuttle as there were no signs so we had to take a cab to the hotel. Holiday Inn and Hyatt had shuttle signs but Radisson Blu had none. As it was a very short stay i was hoping the room would be ok but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the room had no air and it was very hot even though the weather was very nice outside. Positives are that the hotel is near the airport plus we took the shuttle back to the airport but plane noise is tremendous as flights are taking off and landing consistently though out the night.

You can get an Istanbul card and ride the subway with low cost. The hotel also has a direct connection to the back street for easy access. The beds are comfortable. Good pillows support. My husband and I had really mixed reviews about the La Quinta by Wyndham in Istanbul. We stayed…read morehere for 3 nights a the beginning of our Turkiye tour with TripToGo and 1 additional night at the end of our tour. The first room we were assigned to was 942 in the B block. The second room we were assigned to was 403 in the A block. Let me just say the two blocks were night and day. We arrived early at the start of the tour to check into our hotel. We thought we'd get a head start but the walk to the B block filled our nostrils with smoke. For a non-smoking hotel, we smelled a lot of smoke in room 942, to the point that we complained multiple times to the reception. I have allergies and the smoke smell hurts my lungs and makes my eyes water. They sent someone to spray the room with fragrance to mask the smell. They opened the window for air but it made it worse. We suspected that someone on the floor or just below us was smoking. The fan just recirculated the smell. We even requested to change rooms but the hotel was full and their hands were tied. It was hard to sleep since the A/C was essentially off due to "winter mode"; apparently the hotel likes to save money by forcing all guests to comply with "winter mode" so that they cannot use the air conditioning, only heating. We encountered this in Ankara as well. Room 942 was a triple. It had a full and a twin bed in the room which we didn't need as there were just two of us. They could have given us a smaller room but I guess that's what was available when we checked in. By the time we requested a room change, it was full. We did request more pillows, towels, and ice which were sent to the room. I had to order and pay separately for a fruit platter for my husband because he was not feeling well enough to eat out. The $13 USD fruit platter was pretty spectacular though. We did notice that they did not offer tissues in this hotel. The complimentary breakfast was nice since they had an omelette station (starts at 7 am). I enjoyed getting fried eggs and grazing the salad/olive bar. They had a block of raw honeycomb everyday which was amazing. The sublevel had an indoor pool, hamam, and spa. We did not use those amenities. I even went to check out the fitness room which was also interesting because it was all men working out and no water dispenser. I caught a few employees smoking within the hotel which was concerning but that probably added to the smoke smell, we encountered. We felt better when we left for another city and another hotel because there was less smoke. We really dreaded coming back for the last night in Istanbul but it was a complete 180 since we were assigned to the A Block which was newer and updated. We checked in later in the day which may have helped and walked up to the room. The room did not smell like smoke and the lighting was brighter. The fixtures were newer and the room felt more high end than the other room we had. We had a pull out couch this time in 403. If we had this room at the beginning of our trip, we would have had a better time and a more amiable perspective about the hotels on our trip. Room 403 was what we had envisioned in a so-called 5-star hotel. A 5-star hotel, this was not. Both stays averaged out to 3 star.
