I cannot say enough positive things about Goodwin & Thyne Properties. From the first meeting at their offices I was confident I had made the right choice. I had some legal questions due to a possible foreclosure if the property did not sell quick enough and John Thyne was there to ease my mind. Anthony Bordin met with me, did a home walk, then set me up with the perfect realtor for my condo/area, Stu Morse was attentive, informative and straightforward. Stu knew the area and was well versed in the benefits of the area. The photo's of the condo as well as the amenities looked great! He kept me informed every step of the way. I received an emailed report after each open house as well a personal report from Stu. When offers didn't immediately pour in, he explained my worries away. In the middle of trying to beat the foreclose deadline, my best friend got seriously ill and subsequently passed away. During this time I had let Stu know I was either at the hospital or work so when signatures were needed he came to me. There was a problem during the home inspection so Stu called me to let me know what I had to get done-he paused, then said 'let me handle this for you' and he did. He was a blessing in disguise. When all was said and done I felt as positive as I did the day i walked into their offices. And yes! They were able to hold off the foreclosure and get my property sold!!! i recently ran into Anthony and he asked how things were going with my circumstances. He remembered specifics details and had hoped that all was well. Mind you, this is months later and he still remembered! As with most busy people, we procrastinate about getting some back burner items done. I highly recommend Goodwin and Thyne. I chose Kevin as my realtor because he was recommended by someone at work. I had no idea what I was in for when I signed up to be Kevin's client. Kevin found out we were moving from Ventura to Goleta and were planning to sell our house. He immediately found me his Ventura partner Caitlin. She helped us put our house on the market and it sold two days after one showing for full price cash. She coordinated with Kevin and they were smart enough to negotiate a 30 day lease back after a 17 day close (something I know nothing about). Then Kevin went to work finding us a house. He quickly read our preferences and helped us offer for a house we love. In 21 days, he negotiated a fair price, arranged nine house inspections, dealt with a trust and sellers living abroad, and found us a back up lender when our lender was behaving badly. Essentially he secured the house we love in 14 banking days with a lender who offered a better rate and overall better deal than the original one we chose. He also coordinated repairs and negotiated credits. If we hadn't gone with this company, we likely would have had to rent for a while and it is unclear how long the process would have gone on for. Anyone selling a house or buying a house can tell you showing a house and dealing with banks is an extremely difficult and stressful process. Kevin and Caitlin went above and beyond to streamline it, and Caitlin even watched our dogs in her yard during our inspection. Kevin and Caitlin coordinated their activities closely with my work schedule and were available at all times of the day. They were extremely good about updating me and ensuring that everything went through smoothly. They explained everything to us very thoroughly. I have no doubt in my mind that had we gone with a different realtor, we would still be in the process of selling. It took us six weeks from deciding to put our house on the market to sell and buy our new house and close on escrow. That in itself is a recommendation and I cannot praise both Kevin and Caitlin enough. They are superstar realtors. read more
