I highly recommend Lynda at the Zia Group for your homebuying needs. As first-time homebuyers, we had a steep learning curve to overcome. Lynda helped ease us into things by discussing different neighborhoods and setting up showings. She is very keen to learn what home will work for you; beyond finding out our required/preferred property features, she works hard to understand the intangible aspects we were looking for (even when we hadn't figured them out yet ourselves!). We couldn't have done it without the expert and strategic guidance of Daniel and Brittain in buying our house in Santa Barbara. We had moved to the city from the DC area three months ago and thought we could take our time looking for the right house since we have a town house which we bought several years ago as a vacation home also with the help of Daniel. The day the movers came to bring our stuff and us trailing behind, a neighbor walked in and introduced herself and said she is hosting a party the following night and many of the neighbors will be around. My mother had passed away in Goleta in late 2016 and she had a close family friend who was friends with Bowen. My brothers and I all lived remotely and it was a very stressful situation. My mother's house had not been updated since the 1980's and needed work. We contacted Bowen who connected us with Dan. We talked about 2 possibilities. 1) Sell the house as-is for a fair price. 2) Update the house for up to the latest (We estimated at least 50K to do this and then sell it. The Zia group offered to manage any updates while we were remote in exchange for the listing which we appreciated. We realized the house would show better after being updated and would be in a more move-in ready condition for a buyer who might be cash-strapped after buying a Santa Barbara house. However, we hated the idea that the buyer might tear out our new updates because that was not what they wanted. Not very environmentally responsible. We offered the listing to Dan who worked hard to find a buyer for as-is at a fair price. They came through and found the perfect buyer at a fair price who had the money to do their own updates.
