I am dumbstruck at the audacity of the Good Will organization! What is going on? I see here that the negative reviews go pretty far back, so I guess nothing has changed. There was a lady who used to donate her clothes in my size and seasonally, and if I was lucky enough to get in there about the same time, I got some pretty decent things. All of a sudden things changed. The prices became ridiculous. I see more and more folks in there who appear to not be in such need as others. I am not judging. It is merely the observation that the lesser class of us aren't visiting the stores nearly as often as they used to because who can afford to be gouged!? Imagine my shock when I discovered that the clothing was marked higher than what Kohls charges! Granted, I won't be in fashion as soon as it arrives in the stores, but I don't give a rats a$$ about that! Kohls will offer decent clothing if you wait for things to go on clearance. My money is hard to come by and I surely need to be frugal, but I consider it a slap in the face when even I can't afford Good Will! So, pick over the goods for yourselves... price it however you wish so you get a good deal and enjoy it or put it on line to get a good price. I will never donate to you again, nor will I be back to shop. You have lost a regular customer and I'd like to say, :Shame on the whole organization!" read more

Workers are nice for the most part but the prices are insane. Don't donate your items bring them to The salvation Army, or Eco Thrift Shop in Durham NH which supports various local non profits including The Cocheco Valley Humane Society. read more

Prices are absolutely insane. I saw many items that were priced above their new retail price, sometimes by 2-3x. And if you're going to charge such insane prices you better provide bags and packing paper for your customers. I literally left with a ragged box (that I had to ask for) overflowing with glass items and no paper to wrap them in to prevent breakage. AND I had to pack the box myself while there was a line of people behind me and the cashier just stood there and watched me. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I gave the Somersworth Goodwill three stars because of their mission to help people in need. I'll always continue to donate items. Occasionally I would purchase items; not anymore. Their prices have become ridiculously overpriced. Not sure it is just the Somersworth store or all stores. I suspect they'll end up with warehouses filled with overstock with the result being the same in the store. read more

Looked up drop off location and hours. Website said 9am. Arrived at 9am to find out drop off starts at 10? Left and came back at 10. You are supposed to enter the canopy backwards through the end that says DO NOT ENTER on the roof facia. Line 10 cars deep. At 10:20 someone comes out and says you're supposed to go around back of building first. No signage. The young boy working the drop off was nice. SUGGESTIONS: CLEARLY MARK THE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC YOU WANT WITH SIGNS AND PAINTED ASPHALT. REMOVE DO NOT ENTER ABOVE CANOPY. START DROP OFFS WHEN YOU ARE OPEN. read more

The Goodwell stores are crazy with the prices they put on things they get the stuff for nothing and then charge you unbearable prices (I think they should all go out of business) as a matter of fact they do not even deserve a star !!! read more

My girlfriend and I donated a complete bedroom set that is real wood solid. We went all over the place to avoid going to goodwill because we wanted to donate to someone who needed it but no one was open on Sunday. As soon as I pulled up to goodwill and they said they can't take this one or that one. I told them take it all or not because I hate when they pick something out to make money off of it. So we agreed to leave two things but rest of it will be out and donate. After 20 min, two employees are so slow to take it out and took 4 dinner chairs but not the table because legs weren't attached to it so that means I have to put it together so they can take it? What the heck is that? I asked to give 4 chairs back because someone would like to have complete dinner table set. Very rude manger grabbed it very aggressively and move to the front door. This is my 2nd review and didn't realize stars already show 2.0. Never want to go there to donate again, I would rather donate to someone who is needing it. read more

This is probably the best stocked Goodwill in New Hampshire. They always have DVD's, vinyl and other items worth getting. They are probably the same size as all Goodwill's but they seem like they are twice as large with the configuration and how many things they have stocked. I have come in here and got things with $20-$30 for $1-2. Although the staff isn't great, i have been in line to check out for 20 minutes and i have accidentally not noticed and bought a DVD case with two special features in it, live and learn. read more

I think it's ridiculous how much they charge for certain things. On occasion when I've found something I thought about buying I've googled it to see what the product goes for new and a lot of times they charge as if the item THEY GOT FOR FREE was brand new and full retail. I have eBen brought it to the attention of a handful of their workers only to be told that their "system" tells them what to put on for price. Goodwill gets the majority of their items as donations! Great business model. Get your stuff for free and then stick it to the folks who are buying the stuff. Never again will I waste my time going in these stores. read more

There's nothing wrong with the merchandise or the prices at this location, but after the way an employee treated my mother yesterday afternoon, I will never return. We spent a few minutes shopping here and found a few things we wanted to purchase. When we approached the checkout line, there was a lady with a cart full of items waiting on a price check. She told my mother she was waiting and that she could go ahead of her, so my mother approached the register... where the employee, who appeared to be a supervisor or manager, immediately bellowed "There's a line and you just walked RIGHT past it!" The entire line consisted of myself and the woman who had allowed my mother to go ahead of her. When the woman spoke up and said she had told my mother to go ahead of her, the employee made no effort to apologize or acknowledge that she had acted inappropriately. The employee rudely and abruptly rang up my mother's purchases without speaking another word to her, and then told the other employee that he needed to call for backup... regardless of the fact that she was perfectly capable of working a register. When the other employee responded that the backup person was on lunch, the manager/supervisor rolled her eyes and acted like it was the world's biggest imposition to wait on the two or three customers who had lined up by this point. If Goodwill's employees are not capable of acting professionally and using a little common courtesy before attacking, they have no business working the registers, or in any position that requires working with the public. Employees are always friendly but don't feel intrusive like at some other retailers. Selection varies often enough, and lines are minimal or move pretty fast. The drop off area is also very efficient. read more

I was in the store yesterday and the prices were even higher than the day before. The other people shopping could be heard saying the same thing. I watched five people leave empty handed and two that I spoke to said they wouldn't be back.. they have some of the nicest cashiers but a couple of the managers have bad attitudes. Specifically the older man collecting donations and they direct it towards their customers. Also, to man chiefs and not enough Indians I have found. Use to be one of the best stores but not anymore! decided to Tavel further to go to some other stores (not goodwill) I guess some people will pay their prices but it won't be me or the other five people I saw In the store! I felt that the Goodwill store was rather expensive when it was located in Dover. It got even worse when it relocated to Somersworth. A pair of Old Navy pants with a massive hole in the crotch for over $10. A stained old Nike sweatshirt, $10. A trick or treat pumpkin that you'd buy new at Target for $1 is $1 here too, but used. An old hat tossed on top of a pile of Halloween crap, $4. There's a double cd set that looks interesting for a couple of bucks. Oh wait, it's missing one cd. Today, I decided to purchase some glassware that had interesting designs on them. I get them home and try to peel the stickers off the sides. The sticker glue eats the designs off. So I use Goo Gone and soak the glasses in water for hours. Nothing doing, the glasses are ruined. What kind of a "thrift" store puts big ruinous stickers on their products? read more

ive found many items are dirty or broken. and, other items have original price tags on them and the Goodwill price is HIGHER than the original price, how does that make sense?? Could you please explain to me why we take the time to bring our stuff to you, instead of just throwing it away, only for you not to accept half of what we bring? And to have the attendant give us attitude about how "we can't re-sell this, it has a scratch on it". Everything is perfectly usable and fine. You're awfully picky for a company that's getting stuff for free just to re-sell at a profit for you. Rather just start bringing our stuff to a place that will actually appreciate the donation and give it to someone in need. Won't be going here again that's for sure. read more

I have only been to this Goodwill a few times as I usually shop in Portsmouth & I Will not be back to the Somersworth branch it's not worth my time. Their racks of womens clothes are always dwindling and when you do find something you like you take it home and see stains all over it. I returned a bunch of jeans that had stains all over them - I didn't see the stains until they were in natural light and when I brought them back the manager told the worker to put them all back on the floor. Huh?! Also, I bought a pair of 7 For all Mankind jeans and when I got home I saw they had yellow stains on the inside like someone peed in them. The manager said "oh well we don't look at the inside of jeans" WELL there was clearly a stain under the bum area too on the outside but I didn't see it in the dark store. Also, I had a cashier be very rude to me. Items can be way over-priced also - there is a better selection in Portsmouth area. read more
