I walked into the Goodwill on the south side of the circle at about 5:35 p.m. thinking I would have at least 20 minutes to shop before they closed. Shortly after going in there, a gal (Stacy, I think. Found this out by asking another gal that worked there) loudly announced that the store would be closing in 9 minutes! When I told her I thought the store didn't close till 6 p.m., she said, "They don't pay me after 6 p.m. I'm fixing to cash up!" I was mainly just looking for a vase, but she made another announcement at 5:42 that the store would "be closing in 3 minutes!!" I questioned her again. She DID NOT CARE and wanted me out of there! I could not believe it! Terrible customer service! Does Goodwill not care about customer service or closing at the stated time, 6 p.m.? You are losing customers. This is absolutely ridiculous!! Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

I've been to the thrift stores here in Dothan. I usually love Good Will because of their variety of items, but I am just disappointed at the good wills here in Dothan. Mostly clothes. I like to look for furniture or what nots. Nothing to find in these stores. And what I found to beat the band is they sell used underwear. No kidding. When I saw the pair of boys or mens hanging from a rack, I asked as associate if they sold used underwear. They said yes. Won't go back in there again. I wish the government would let them have a career center put in the good wills . I could help people who don't have means of transportation to try to help the community. read more

I have not actually shopped in this Goodwill Store. So please note this review is strictly from the donation aspect. I spent many years going to the old location near Dothan High School and only had good experiences dropping things off. You could back your car right up to the roll up door that was behind the building and the process was seamless and simple. This new location's dropoff spot is more of a store front and not as simple to get in. They seldom have a person there to help move heavy stuff and you have to go through the front, park in the fire lane, and is a bit more of a trek... although it still isn't that far. The people I have had experience with in the drop-off side have always been friendly. But the person we dealt with on the store side this past time was not the most hospitable. And I would say up until this last experience, everything was a four star. But after checking their closing time a little later on a Saturday, we rushed over for a final drop-off before a move. The closing time on the web said 6 PM and as it turned out, so did their door closing time. So when arriving at 5:45 and no one around on the donation side, we were a little surprised. My wife went and asked the store side and she said "We are leaving here right at 6 and she is probably gone." So with a car already loaded with stuff, we had to enquire further on what we could do. Hesitantly they allowed to unload (and you better be sure we did it before the clock struck 6) in their side for the crew the next day to move. Fortunately it all worked out even though they didn't have the donation receipts on that side. I won't let this last experience taint all of the other good experiences. But be warned that the posted hours don't 100% mean they will still be there. read more
