Sometimes it's a matter of available space and sometimes it's how the space is used. Only a very few I've visited can organize space to make it feel more department store than a thrift shop. GIA is a huge store, for what it is, with nearly everything you'd find in a department store. Clothes, of course, and shoes, sorted by size. Children's clothes and toys, Christmas decorations, books, CDs, vinyl, DVDs, kitchen utensils, lamps, appliances, furniture, and miscellaneous. They've done a good job using items donated to delineate the areas and although there's only one separate room it feels like at least three. The prices are reasonable, and from time-to-time GIA will have a sale of sorts where you can fill your cart for a flat price. All the items I saw were in good condition, worn, but not trashy. Gratitude in Action uses the money from the store for their mission of support for recovery and sober living and giving people in recovery a chance to be independent.

The prices went nuts and really they don't even have that much stock on the floor. I've heard their storage is packed hard but the floor? Nothing. Back when my daughter was young we were there quite abit. Awesome deals on clothing, toys, books and furniture. Now??? We don't even bother stopping anymore.

All they had was 1 medium sized styrofoam cooler for $2.99. I bought it and used it for smaller perishables like my cheese, cold stored veggies and fruits to get me through a 5 hour drive in the sun. It did the job. They were busy at the check out counter so I asked if I could just drop $3. They allowed me to pay the 3 on the counter. I left without having to wait in any line. They have all sorts of items in the store if you are looking to save money. Some items were in pretty good condition from what I saw. If I needed some glassware in a pinch and didn't want brand new, I would buy here. I could also drop it back off here as donation when I was done with it.

I was unhappy, but got a rain check. I checked in for two more weeks and got the same answer. I asked the manager (nice woman) for a corporate number. I called and left messages 3 times and was never called back by him. Instead after the third call, a person I didn't contact called and said they have the issue figured out and it would be 2-3 weeks and I'd have my pistol. Today I get a call and the man (very pleasant) told me that my rain check had expired and they weren't going to be getting them and I was out of luck. I am very disappointed and discouraged with their lies, deceit and lack of professionalism.

Tonight at the north 27th street store in billings Montana, unfortunately witnessed an altercation…read moretonight 01-23-2025 between 3 young ladies at the north 27th street store in billings montana. I am not certain exactly the problem but what I did notice was the humiliating nature of the shouting in which these ladies were engaged in. One of the females was accusing each the other of having a foul odor. Then I heard the young lady who was being targeted defendnherselfnand it all but broke my soul. Apparently shes is going through cancer treatment and if you have half a brain you'd know that these treatment often cause an individual to sometimes emit a foul odor which is absolutely not their fault and should never be persecuted for such a thing can you imagine going through cancer and having to go through these treatments and having absolutely no way to combat such humiliating side effects and not even your own fellow female colleagues have your back. Shame on you two ladies for treating her that way. The blonde gal was witness to it as well but took satisfaction in being just senselessly nasty to the gal with cancer. I am appalled and embarrassed for everyone involved in this encounter. I hope everyone takes a moment to think of how they could have contributed in more of a positive way to this situation. We're women we're not idiots conduct yourselves accordingly! The way that you show your own self-respect to the rest of the world is by treating the rest of the world with respect.
