Thrifting is my lifeline. I love it as a way to keep things out of landfills, as a money saving measure, and also for the entertainment factor of the hunt and finding something unusual. It's not uncommon for me to pick a town and thrift in it all day. On this particular day I choose Hanover and Gettysburg as my shopping stomping grounds. Community Aid was my first stop and located about 2 minutes from this store which made it easy. At first glance this Goodwill appeared to be nothing special and had negative reviews. The parking lot is being worked on and most of the business's in this small strip mall were closed. At night it would be intimidating. Armed with my list I ventured inside. Masks were required and there were a good number of customers but not to the point you couldn't keep your distance. Jeans were the first isle I explored, finding good quality and better name brands like Michael Kors and Black House/White Market. Most of the items on my thrift list are household related so I headed to the back where misc items are separated and arranged by color. It was there I found my first score - a lovely wicker and beaded vintage lampshade I plan on turning into a hanging light fixture. Not on my wish list but at only $2.99 it was something so unique I knew I couldn't leave without it. That shade was just one of many, many finds that day. I spent more money here ($33) than any other store in my travels that day. While shopping I got stopped by another shopper who complimented me on my lampshade find. We got to talking and she told me she's from Virginia and does up-cycled crafts for profit and finds such good materials to work with that she drives up to shop AT THIS GOODWILL on the regular! All the way from Virginia! I can see why. So while it may just be another Goodwill at first glance once you dive in you'll probably find treasures too! Mostly crap stuff there. Probably because resellers come in first thing every day and buy up all the good stuff. On a positive note it has that familiar goodwill smell. The people who work there are fantastic though and make it still worth going to read more

We went here randomly one day and will not be going back! We got up to the register and paid the EXACT dollar amount, in pennies, yet we were told to leave! We didn't get our items, and they kept our money! We were halfway home when we actually realized we had not gotten our items. Tsk tsk...jolly bad show. read more

You have to hit it right, but they have amazing deals and some really great stuff! You definitely need to check it out!

I enjoy shopping there but some of the employees are not too personable. Keep changing their hours which is a bit irrating.

Ripped me off and didn't even charge me correctly. The things i bought didn't have price tags and the lady was way too confused and charged two tank tops as 5.325 and as "women's sweaters." also couldn't even print out a receipt. Won't be coming again. read more
