Getting horrible. I went to drop off a mail letters to Santa box, it works great, nothing wrong with it. They refused to take it, because they don't believe in celebrating Christmas or even acknowledge others beliefs.. not donating there anymore...and they kept a blue bin I told them I wanted to keep. Towel now thrown in! Longtime fan of Goodwill clothing shopping but they have now lost me for good. Prices are ridiculous - equal to and often more than you would pay for the same item on sale at retailers like Kohls. Today the racks were so crammed full my arm ached after just a few minutes of pulling things aside trying to see what the items looked like (and when I did I saw the ridiculous prices!). I'm guessing no one is buying at these prices and that is why the racks are so full you can't get anything in or out. Done and Done Goodwill. read more

Great selection of clothes but they recently took dressing rooms away. (Apparently all of the central fl goodwills are going this way.) Aside from having no dressing rooms, there are only TWO MIRRORS. At least put many mirrors up so people can look at clothing properly. Prices have also gone up A LOT. Unfortunate that these corporations are becoming so greedy. These are all donated items. read more

Prices are outrageous. I don't think those setting the prices realize we can buy these items brand new for the same price.

While shopping at our local goodwill Port Orange FL) my sister and wife were treated beyond rudely by an associate named Cathy in front of two other employees who both approached my family to apologize for the woman's behavior and say " yes she's like that to customers she's from New Jersey" after being rude and shoving my sisters cart out of the way containing my 3 year old nephew I am beyond livid with the situation. The fact that the employees and manager admitted themselves that she has a continuing issue with attitude makes me wonder why your company has not issued any corrective action or terminated this employee. We spent over two hundred dollars today and spend money there regularly. I have no confidence that this will be addressed and that she will be back to work verbally assaulting more people tomorrow. Neither I or my family will never shop at your establishment again and plan on posting this situation on every single review board I can possibly find. Do better goodwill. read more

Shop anywhere for womens clothes of babies clothes again except here at goodwill of port orange, for the rest of ny luce. 5 stars for cleanliness, quality, only accepting gently used clothes, having EVERYTHING seperated by color, shirts tank tops sleeves etcetc, pants for jobs pants for fitness, sweat pants for home, shorts!!! And still! Trying to stay color coded!!! Same things with my womens purses. I will never buy a ourse anywhere but here again. Its all prices around five dollars lots of it below every time i spent 60 to 80 i leave woth full wardrobes. For me. My daughter. Sometimes my son. I notice not as many toddler boy clothes as much as girl so for my kids i do go to burlington clearance A Lot..but just try to look at goodwill first. I went to Once Upon A Child A Lot of the stuff looked too worn and not new enough for my babies and took me too long to sift through to find what i wanted or needed. The store seems to be in a constant state of flux with items not properly place in racks by size or type, to items on the floor because the hangars were chosen hastily. At times there is so much stuff on the shelves/racks - that if you touch something you risk something falling and breaking or you just can't see the item without taking it off the rack or shelf. Prices have increased and it may no longer be a viable place to get used clothes. I recommend the Deland Store. While it may be smaller, it seems to be more organized and the employees are appear to be diligently working to make our shopping experience a good one. read more

Employee called me a "Bitch" and that I needed To shop someone else all because him & two other employees stood where I was Trying to shop talking about their lives and i asked them to move and told them it was unprofessional of them to be standing around gossiping about who they are sleeping with. It's the worst I've ever been in. There are broken items everywhere. They bag everything in plastic bags in mismatched piles with zip ties. It's absurd, I've never seen such a lazy and ridiculous way to present gently used items for resale that is supposedly, supposed to benefit a worthy cause. The employees are extremely rude when you drop off donations. I've done it three times now and all times I've had to chase someone down and carry the stuff in myself. Once this hateful man with a beard just yelled at me "we're not taking donations now" and went inside. I need to find a new place to donate items to that actually appreciates it. read more

We checked out this location while on vacation, and dang, it's large! This is one of the largest Goodwill stores I've visited. It is well organized in that you can clearly see what merchandise is where. The prices are some of the better ones I've seen at Goodwill. The items we purchased were on great condition. We walked out with some kitchen items, a brand-new photo frame, and I bought a like-new dress - all for just $19. You can't beat thrift store prices. My one criticism: there is A LOT of stuff to sift through, especially in the electronics area. The shelves are overwhelming. Would be great of the employees edited the merchandise to remove items that simply aren't selling. read more

When will people get a clue? Goodwill is not what it used to be and definitely not what it used to stand for. Corporate greed is alive and well. As for prices and store policies....they suck big time. Not to mention what goes on behind the scene... customers wont ever see anything of real value because it will never hit the sales floor, it gets sent somewhere else....or it conveniently finds a place in the managers top draw of his office desk...Or the regional manager buys a set of silver ware that never even made it out to the sales floor (for customers) and resells it on ebay for 3 times what she paid for it....all the while telling other employees 'do as I say, not as I do'...or it's grounds for dismissal. Every store has a monetary goal that must be met each month and if that means raising prices on crap and ripping people off, then so be it. Those are the things customers will never see, but I did. I bought a router and it did not work so I exchanged it twice and they both sucked as well. I spent my whole weekend trying to get all 3 to work and ended up wasting my weekend. I can't find anything else to purchase and I am frustrated about my experience but the manager refused to give my money back due to My horrible experience. I will never go back. read more

Goodwill - Thrift Stores Near Me - Port Orange, Florida

This location is big and usually quite busy. The parking lot is a good size and easy to navigate. The aisles inside of the store, however, are not so easy to get through, especially if you choose to use a cart. The employees try their best to wrangle and manage the chaos, but the store is so clustered that their efforts make very little difference. The prices fall in a vast spectrum of 'fair' to 'I could buy it brand new for that'. It think it depends on who's tagging the items that day. While they do supply racks to hang unwanted items just outside the fitting rooms, the rooms themselves are usually full of clothes that people tried and left. The restrooms are fairly clean and usually stocked. The employees are friendly, for the most part, but the checkout lines are usually very long and move slowly. read more

When I first went to this store, it was very well kept and very clean almost two years ago, now this store is very filthy and always dirty at the front door with, garbage, rug at door full of dirt and lint, front of store needs sweeping and mopping, it is disgusting and the workers are unaware of how to take pride in there place of employment, PLEASE go help get it beautiful! I used to LOVE goodwill. Aside from them helping keep textile out of our landfills, the prices used to be more than reasonable and made it easy for people with a low budget to be able to be well clothed. That is not the case anymore. Shame on you, David Rey! The prices now are outrageous. How can the price of clothing that is being donated for free go up so drastically? Workers aren't paid well.. so the argument of maintaining rent and electricity is inexcusable. It's sad to see such an enormous location FILLED TO THE BRIM with clothing, appliances and everything inbetween. They rather have fully stocked shelves instead of lowering their prices and I AM NOT here for it. There aren't too many local thrifts in the area (compared to the city that I'm from) so it would be great if the community began donating to them instead of this greedy corporation. With goodwill's new prices, you may as well shop at Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. It'll be the same price getting a brand new dress versus a worn out forever 21 romper. aisles too tight, products such as coffee pots, blenders, junk all over the back wall should be removed and thrown away. Same with printers, modems, old and outdated electronic and computer stuff... XP stuff that will not work on the newer systems. More things should be thrown out ! Also need more check out people up front.. one only open 90% of the time.. they get rushed and screw up. read more

COMING FROM A MANAGER MYSELF...If I could leave 0 stars I would. First off the woman who checked me out Shannon J forgot to hand me one more bag. I get home (an hour away) and call the store instantly. The first woman I spoke with told me she had to go check for bags so I was on hold and when she came back she said she found a bag of wine glasses (not mine). I informed her of the items that were in my bag and the register number I was checked out at and she said "oh we didn't check that register because that register was slow today" so she puts me on hold to go check...again...than I got hung up on. I called back a second time, this time I asked to speak to a manger. The rude manager who answered said "didn't someone in customer service already tell you we don't have your bag?" I said no, and If you don't have it than that means it either got handed to the people behind me in line or your staff has misplaced the items that I have already paid for. The manager said " I don't know what to tell you we don't do refunds, you can come in and find something else" with an attitude. What a joke. Coming from a manager myself, that is NOT how you handle an upset customer who has paid for items that I do not have. Horrible and lousy manager with a clueless and unorganized staff. read more

I was there at goodwill in Port Orange, Fl on 12/12/17 at 3:30 PM. I was dropping off some stuff and the man working there didn't offer me any help, and he left me dropping heavy stuff all by myself and went helping others when i was there first. After I dropped off everything, a lady worker came out and talked to me in a very rude way. I ended up taking loading the stuff back to my van and left. I will be selling the stuff on eBay instead cause they have a very bad customer service. read more

I've been to several goodwills and I have never had such bad customer service. Me and some friends of mine were filling a cart with no more than 15 clothing items. As we were finishing trying them on we were told no carts were allowed in the dressing rooms, which is understandable so we quickly finished. As we put the cart next to the clothes people don't want a older lady comes up to me and says "is this your cart" to which I told her it was and that I was sorry it was so much. I asked if she wanted me to go put it back and she starts raising her Voice at me saying that people don't bring carts in there because of this reason and that her and her associates are going to have to put it all back and how I had caused her so much trouble. I even offered to go put it back but she says no and walks away with it. Would it be any different if I was carrying it or we did it separately? No I wouldn't. One of the cashiers even said to us while checking us out that this was hells job and we haven't even said anything. I understand how it was a little much to try on but she could have been so much nicer about it, plus it is kinda her job as a worker to put things away. I expect better. read more

Prices are inconsistent. Prices either meet or exceed brand new retail 90% of the time so often times we leave and just shop other stores in the area instead. They were doing okay for awhile and not that long ago but quickly went back to being greedy with their barbaric out of control laughable prices. It's insulting at times. Please remember your items are used and donated hence, thrift store. Price accordingly. And please don't mad when we're working also to make a profit. It's a business. It's about the hustle. Was already over priced for a Goodwill and now they have raised the prices! At least on ladies clothing... a shirt was around $3.50, now is around $4.20. Not sure what they are thinking......if you go to a Goodwill south of here (like around Stuart, Fl) the prices are MUCH lower (around $2 for a ladies shirt) AND they have days where all items with tags of a certain color are .50 (not 50% off but .50!). This location only has 50% off times (and then there are very very few items of that tag color available). I think this Goodwill location has out-priced themselves :-( read more

This Goodwill has a large collection of clothing. Not all of it is super organized but it would be hard to keep a store of that size completely organized 100% of the time. My friend and I went near closing time, we didn't realize it at the time- because of that we were hurried out. The staff was not very friendly, it might have been simply because of how close it was to closing time. read more

One of the best Goodwills I've ever seen. Left with several clothing items, some with expensive labels. Had a ton of fun looking trying on my items. Found the colors I was looking for. Spent 2 hrs and could have used more. Tops were $4.19 and a dress was $6. Found modern stuff and basics. Will be returning for more bargains. read more

I don't know what's happened to Goodwill stores back in Chicago, IL and here in Central Florida. The Port Orange Goodwill that used to be on Nova was always a fun time to go check out and was reasonably priced. Now that this new store has opened on Dunlawton, it just makes you wonder where the money goes from your donated, free merchandise. They can afford to build this brand new building and started playing commercials on the radio, while having some of the highest prices for a thrift store. Same thing is going on in Chicago. Super huge, brand new Goodwill stores are opening up everywhere. Is this a legit non-profit or not? Just basic, blank or graphic T-shirts used to be $1.69 each. Now, they individually price them based on brand, graphics, condition, etc., from $1.69 to upwards of $5.00 each! A basic white, tank top undershirt was $4.00! You might as well buy that new! They have a huge selection of jewelry and watches, but it's overpriced, very cluttered, hard to see, and good luck getting someone to open the case up! Why would you pay $10.00 for a watch that's not working? A lot of knick-knacks in the back area, but the isles are so packed and narrow, it makes it hard walking through if you have a shopping cart, and EVERYONE seems to want to push a cart down these isles all at once! They do have an exchange policy on electronics items in case they don't work, so that's a plus. I don't remember what it is, maybe 30 days, but double check. The guy that posted about buying broken routers is giving them a bad rap. It's a thrift store, dude! If you NEED a new router, go buy a brand new router at Wal-Mart! Why waste your time?! Goodwill says "Donate things. Create jobs." With that, I am always waiting in line forever here! It doesn't matter what time, what day I have been here, there's never enough cashiers to get things moving! Create jobs, Goodwill! Although I have been royally turned off by Goodwill as of the past few years, I will say to go check it out. As I say about any thrift store, you never know what they might have that one day you go. I have found some decent things here, but most of the time I'm forced to walk out empty handed because the prices are just too much and it makes better sense to buy it new or go check out another local thrift store. read more
