I appreciate the set up Moberly Goodwill has for dropping off donations. You drive up and someone immediately comes out to help you with your donations. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. One in particular is Robert. Easy to talk to and friendly and you know he enjoys his job. I had a bad experience today with the goodwill here in Moberly, and no it wasnt the usual. People standing around not doing anything while I wait in line for 25 minutes. It seems someone mislabeled an item and so they wanted to charge me 3 times as much as it was tagged. I suspect it was someone in store because it was a good value at label and not so much at 3x. So i complained to a manager. Of course he was resistant and in fact knew an awful lot about the item and its value. I frankly suspect he was the one who put the label on it wrong in the first place as a turnaround purchase for himself. Still I am a customer and I told him that labeled price is what he should sell it for. I guess the customer isnt always right when the customer is buying something second-hand. They treat their customers second-hand as well. read more

I go to this Goodwill 1-2 times a week. It is always organized and clean. They organize their clothing by color which makes it easy to search for things. The prices are generally fair. Within the last year, they have been raising prices on "name brand" clothing/items. Almost half the items that are "name brand," that have raised prices, aren't even in style anymore. So, personally, I think the mark ups are unnecessary, considering what they sell is donated in the first place. read more
