Today was my first trip to this Salvation Army. The good point was that the store was really…read moreclean. I liked how they had color coded dish sets at the end caps. Unfortunately there was a lot wrong as well. I was told that this was one of the cheapest second hand stores to visit, however when visiting I really found the opposite. In fact, a lot of their prices were higher than Goodwill (which was mind blowing too me.) There were carts full of inventory sitting out which I felt was very disorganized. The prices were just uncomfortable high. So I went looking mainly for items that had the color sticker of the day. Also the toys were all up on top of clothing racks. I am 5'8 and had to stand on my tippy toes a bit to see the stuff up their. I can imagine this is done to keep kids from playing with them. However, this also feels like a bad situation for anyone who would fall under my height. What was really disappointing was that there VHS tapes were .99 cents. In this area (where most stores offer them at 10 cents each, it was steep) I did find a couple I liked and purchased. Had they been about half that price I would have probable helped clear their shelves a little better (or a lot). However, the worst part of this trip came when I found a Mixer, very pretty it had a sticker on it of 3.99. I plugged it in made sure it worked (which I think is a neat feature, most stores you are kind of taking a guess). When I got up to the register though the lady behind the counter discovered another sticker underneath(for 14.99). She called in someone else, and their tone was very accusing. I left the stores with tears in my eyes and will never return. I believe a class in how to handle people with Asperger's/Autism is needed at this store.

They are well organized as well as the DVDs. You can't beat the pricing for hard cover books at $1.49 each. It wasn't until I left that I noticed I was charged $2.99 for a book and $4.99 for the Forest Gump DVD. These items had small stickers on the spine that I thought were hold overs from the person who donated the items. The other books were $1.49. The children's book I purchased was only 49 cents. I will be back because this is next door to one of my favorite ice cream shops!

Some even with the old label still on them and they are selling them for 4 bucks a piece! GEE I wonder how much you could sell a Tomato sauce jar for? I hope they have an explanation for this and please since I cant imagine that they could explain it.. I hope they have someone go through their shelves and price items like they are not on dope. MY PLAN moving forward Ive ALWAYS donated to Salvation army with $$ with household goods and by shopping there. Im going to start donating to smaller thrift stores that are not trying to match new store prices. There are Thrift stores that continue to do the work locally.. sell their donated items at a sensible profit without overpricing everything and treat their senior and veteran communities with a respectful discount one day a week. I got snow and winter clothes, snow suits, hats, gloves for a family of 4 for $90. They also have a discount program and for spending $90 I got $11 coupon I can use next time I go. I highly recommend this store especially for people interested in clothing. Lots of kids clothes!

I WON my entire purchase at check out for a Christmas Contest this past year and was in disbelief! I've never seen anyone win, and never thought I would. It really does pay to use your Kohls card. I use it every time and pay it off right away.

I have bought furniture from there four times now for 4 separate rooms, and I've been treated right every single time. Plus, pay 53 bucks down, 90 days same as cash (or something similar.) You can't beat it. I had issues with my living room furniture, and there was a discrepancy with my warranty, and they made it beyond right - IN 2 DAYS!! They got me better furniture, and they treated me like I was family. Between Ashton and Alma, I couldn't recommend either of them any more than what I do right now. Do yourself a favor and go visit them. It is well worth your time. Buy the Five-Year warranty, it's between $200 and $250 for everything that you buy in total (for or a single transaction, i.e.. couches, loveseats, chairs, tables, everything, ALL FOR THE $200 - AND IT COVERS EVERYTHING -).
