We drove out here on a trip to Frankenmuth over the holidays. It was totally worth the short drive past Frankenmuth. I was pleasantly surprised by their vinyl selection and vintage clothing. The prices on the clothing were insanely cheap!!! The staff was helpful and friendly. All in all a great shop. read more

An incredibly humbling establishment that feeds my vinyl addiction. It is so nice to have a record store where I live and get to experience the magic of the music community first hand, like so many others did generations ago. The owners really put in the effort to give a great atmosphere and pay homage to the history behind what makes music so innovative today. To the cute decor and fantastic catalogue of vinyl and tech, they really give the customer a path to get into and further pursue their love of music. They have helped me tons of times finding the things I wanted, even ordering me an expensive stylus when they could never make any profit on it. Installed it for me, too. The extra mile really means a lot and that's the main reason I go back. I get to have a wonderful time shopping and have a relationship with the owners. Something that is very uncommon now. I wonderful store for the minority of music appreciation and collection, with the added bonus of the vintage clothes and tech. read more

My personal favorite retro kitschy record stop in the Mitten. You can find the best selection of vintage and new vinyl pressings here. Plenty of vintage goods and HI-FI equipment to pick up here too! The staff are very knowledgeable, and Jordan Pries is one of the best when it comes to vinyl. If you're any of a fan to high fidelity audio or vintage loot, you best check this shop out. read more

Spend all your money here! Inventory is all quality stuff and priced fairly. You won't be flipping through a mile of lps to find the goods. More importantly when I had an issue with a pair of USED speakers, Jordan refunded me after only an email and photo. It's just a great shop ran by good people and very deserving of your business! read more

Electric Kitsch is the place to go! I absolutely love it and the owners are so nice and helpful. While there I actually purchased my first vinyl which was the White Album, by The Beatles and it was perfect. If you're ever around the area or have some free time during the weekend/week I highly recommend that you check it out :D read more

Bay City is better with Electric Kitsch selling vinyls. I'm a regular at this store and it never ceases to amaze me how extensive their record collection is. Name a genre and most likely they have a few records to satisfy your craving. read more

Alan and I had two goals on a Saturday a few weeks ago: 1) Explore the Thumb and 2) Procure a unique fishing lure. We found our unique lure at the Freeland Walleye festival and would spend a few hours of aimless driving along the Bay Coast of the Thumb. In between these two remarkable successes, we stumbled upon Electric Kitsch. What a remarkable juxtaposition of words, which so perfectly captures the essence of what can be found within. read more

Well worth the visit, There are gems, but you have to look. Jordan is one of the most engaging store owners that I've ever met. He has vast knowledge and really makes the retail experience an EXPERIENCE. With fewer stores around, it's really nice to find one like this. read more

The Kitsch is a great little record joint that is exactly as the name implies: kitschy. You'll find everything from new/used vinyl to home decor to clothing. They even offer repairs on your instruments and turntables. Jordan and Jess will order any album you desire at no additional cost. They host some pretty fun events too. Electric Kitsch provides a comfortable and friendly atmosphere to casually browse records, electronics, and vintage clothes. Prices are always reasonable and the selection continually improves. The owner and everyone that works there are extremely helpful, but not at all obtrusive. If you are close to Bay City and have a hankering for wax, this is THE place to go. read more

Today was my first trip to this Salvation Army. The good point was that the store was really…read moreclean. I liked how they had color coded dish sets at the end caps. Unfortunately there was a lot wrong as well. I was told that this was one of the cheapest second hand stores to visit, however when visiting I really found the opposite. In fact, a lot of their prices were higher than Goodwill (which was mind blowing too me.) There were carts full of inventory sitting out which I felt was very disorganized. The prices were just uncomfortable high. So I went looking mainly for items that had the color sticker of the day. Also the toys were all up on top of clothing racks. I am 5'8 and had to stand on my tippy toes a bit to see the stuff up their. I can imagine this is done to keep kids from playing with them. However, this also feels like a bad situation for anyone who would fall under my height. What was really disappointing was that there VHS tapes were .99 cents. In this area (where most stores offer them at 10 cents each, it was steep) I did find a couple I liked and purchased. Had they been about half that price I would have probable helped clear their shelves a little better (or a lot). However, the worst part of this trip came when I found a Mixer, very pretty it had a sticker on it of 3.99. I plugged it in made sure it worked (which I think is a neat feature, most stores you are kind of taking a guess). When I got up to the register though the lady behind the counter discovered another sticker underneath(for 14.99). She called in someone else, and their tone was very accusing. I left the stores with tears in my eyes and will never return. I believe a class in how to handle people with Asperger's/Autism is needed at this store.

When I arrived, I was told the items had already been "sold" to a friend of the estate sale company before the sale opened to the public. To make matters worse, a sign-up sheet was suddenly produced that had not been available when I was there raising concerns about whether all customers were being given the same opportunity to purchase items fairly. The situation felt very unprofessional and unfair. The rude attitude I received when asking about the items only added to the frustration. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to attend another sale run by this company.

He went on to explain the turnout was so poor he called the owner to get their approval about starting 50% at 3pm that day (they close at 4) vs next day when they open. He explained with the amount of items left tomorrow that prices may drop sooner if there was a lot of inventory left and owners agreed to start 75% off sooner. We thanked him and left. Live an hour away and drove back for 3 pm, were told by the workers they had no idea about 50% off startin. They questioned the owner who said no, I thought when he sees us he'll remember our earlier conversation about him saying to come at three. He was swearing and very belligerent when we tried to tell him everything he said but he would just cut us off. Then says to get my ass off the property, over what? He was spitting, his face turned bright red. Then he changes his story when I confront him on the facts. He started off saying he said 3 tom and we misunderstood . I countered with 50% off starts in the morning not 3 pm, so he modified it to that he told us to come back for 75% off tomorrow at 3. I mean this guy was nasty, I told him we drove an hour to come back. No sane person is going to drive an hour back and make up this whole story of him talking to the owners unless they heard it directly from him. Such and unprofessional person, last thing he needed was to chase away buyers when he had next to none. I mean my husband had to tell him several times to stop screaming and swearing. My husband is a retired police offer and he said after we left the guy is a psycho. I will never go to one of his sales again and word back from other buyers after posting about him, is he's lost a lot of customers over his bad behavior. The guy is a hot head, rude and ignorant person. I will add, he never allowed us to finish the entire conversation we had with him earlier, he would cut us off and start screaming....

We told them he was a fisherman, the two women helping us gathered everything in the store fish related and brought them to us to pick something out. They were so kind and attentive. The flowers for next to the urn were perfect, I bought a large aloe to put flowers in - they delivered everything to Rivertown Chapel at no charge. I can't recommend highly enough. Thank you ladies!

I love a company that gives back to their community! Also, I bought a very cool dresser and some heavy glass and a very handsome fireman assisted me with getting it back to my vehicle. I have nothing but love for this place. Electric Kitsch is one of those stores where you walk in and feel like you're back in time. Jordan is always there when I go in and he's super friendly and helpful. They have an awesome selection of vintage clothes in great condition, stacks upon stacks of records, and, like the name depicts, LOTS of cool and kitschy knickknacks, jewelry, and stuff for around the house, all at a really fair price. This place is definitely in my top 5 'Must See's' of Bay City. read more

My 45 year old acoustic guitar needed its bridge fixed. The bridge was slowly pulling up. Jordon took a good look at my guitar and said that he could probably fix it. He explained some of the pros and cons of working on my Contessa (not a solid wood top) 6 string. Yesterday I picked up the guitar, after a month or so, and saw that Jordon had done a Great job! I love retro things and this place has the perfect selection for old records, to clothes, cookie jars, knick knacks - all the "kitsch" you could want! There is something for everyone! They also do string instrument repairs and have awesome instruments all over the shop for purchase! If you are in Bay City - make sure to stop in! read more
