I love thrift shops, antique and Goodwills. You can find great finds. We have 3 homes and I always love a sale. I bought 162.56 worth of items! The guys were great!!! All of them! We went on a Thursday. The ghetto woman had an attitude! I didn't do anything! I let everyone go ahead since I had so much. I always do that at grocery stores etc. so the rude woman, not calling her a lady was rushing me. And throwing the items down. And said to pack all of my stuff outside and told the guy to lock the door. And to leave the cart outside. When I told her I let everyone go ahead of me she didn't care. And when I told my husband she's throwing things down she said I'm not. And kept throwing it down. Then she finally stopped. Wow! Someone needs to stop in and check her attitude. I usually never like to write bad reviews but I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had at this goodwill location. I didn't know you could only take 5 items into the dressing room, which is fair, but I go in with 8 garments and immediately there is someone trying to open the door from the outside telling me I have to come back out and only take 5 garments in. I'm trying to rush to put my pants back on and she proceeds to try and wiggle the door open saying 'there is a line'. The lady before me had over 10+ garments and no one told her anything. I didn't mind having to come back and place three garments back, it was just a bit rude to me to try and wiggle the door and proceed to try and open it while the person on the other side is telling you they are putting their clothes back on. My son-in-law and I went to the Good Will Drop Off Center in Pismo. My son-in-law asked if we could use this cart, so we could bring in the items we were donating. The reception lady looked him up and down, no welcoming smile (actually a frown) and said, "yes", with a rude attitude. Totally caught us both off guard. read more

Used to shop at this location the smell recently is horrible maybe a sewage problem not sure but the clothes I bought had to be thrown out I couldn't get the smell out after several washes! Everything in the store smells this way. Didn't used to be the case it's always been clean in the past. read more

You will work for your finds. The men's shirts are not well sorted. Every size is mixed in with other sizes although somebody bothered to mark them and then just hung them on the rack out of order. There may be something worthwhile but you will have to look at everything else to find it.... read more

Goodwill - Grover Beach - Thrift Stores Near Me - Grover Beach, California

THE GOOD: Nice employees, fun atmosphere, great music, organized, clean, dressing rooms + a bathroom. THE BAD: Prices are high on a lot of things (you can still find deals though) THE UGLY: Blazer tags are put directly into the shoulder seams so there is absolutely NO way to remove them without leaving the end of the plastic stick poking out of the garment. (The back end of the plastic stick is embedded securely in the shoulder pad so you can't cut the back of it off or push it through). I just spent $140 on a dozen items. Five of the blazers I purchased had delicate fabric. Several became damaged when I tried to get the tags out. I finally gave up and tried to cut the plastic sticks off level with the garments on the rest of them (still a dicey process, considering it's at the seam and you don't want to cut fabric or leave a plastic stick poking up!) It was needlessly frustrating which prompted this review. My pleasant experience ended when I struggled with these poorly placed tags. I hope they give it some thought. It's supposed to be fun. And that part definitely was NOT. read more

This store is way too expensive. I shop here because I make minimum wage and my family is very low income. The donations are free and I feel goodwill is exploiting free inventory that is donated by people out of kindness for others who can afford new clothes. The prices here are similar to Ross for less. 6-7 dollars for a T-shirt. 9 dollars for a dress. 8 dollars a bra. That's almost my entire hourly wage! I think this store needs to get back to charity principles then trying to make money. That is why people donate their clothing. read more

Not one of the more organized Goodwill stores I've been in. The aisle were hard to navigate and the clothes were kind of scattered around and not very organized. Also their prices were a little higher than other Goodwill stores I've been to. I know that it was time for people to be looking for Halloween costumes but this place was so messy and pretty unorganized. I did find a few items but a lot of their clothes seemed pretty trashed compared to other ones I've been to also. read more

This place has name brand clothes if you are willing to patiently search the racks. The prices are great for gently worn clothes and awesome household items. Looking for an older movie you love this place also has a great selection of dvds. The staff are helpful and the hours of business make it an ideal stop if you want to avoid the crowds at Wal-Mart. The first time I ever went to this location was about a year ago on my family's annual trip. I found a couple good things. So naturally when we were back in the area this week we went to check it out on our free time. I browsed through the aisles, the workers weren't the friendliest but that wasn't the problem. I found a pair of boys pants size 12 for my son. I grabbed them for a good price. When we arrived back at our hotel I had him try them on. He noticed something in the front left pocket, he reached in and pulled out a disposable syringe. I immediately told him to drop it and take them off. The needle wasn't in the syringe however I can only imagine what it would've been used for. After this incident we will never be going back to this location. I've never seen anything like this at a goodwill and I shop a fair amount at several different locations. Be careful when buying! I threw the jeans away as a precaution.. you never know. Extremely disappointed with the staff. Items with pockets like jeans should be thoroughly inspected especially if a child puts them on without an adult being aware. read more

I live in Santa Maria. But this is my favorite goodwill. Mainly because it has a fitting room. But I've got a lot of my favorite jeans here's. When I'm patient and put in the work to look, I have found great deals on cute brand name jeans. It's a lot smaller than any of the goodwill's in Santa Maria, but it's worth the drive. It's always very organized and the staff has always been very nice to me. Never had a bad experience here. read more

Everything overpriced and an unorganized mess. Although staff is friendly. When they put the price stickers on everything you can't get them off no matter how much soap and wasted hot water you use, scrubbing. So now your hand sticks to the cup ect. From the glue that won't come off. You'd think they would figure out a way to help there customers by not using the sticky tags, unless it's there intention to have to leave the price tag on something. Soo frustrating so I stopped shopping there for those reasons. read more

A decent selection and very well organized! I was pleasantly surprised and how bright the space and how cheery the atmosphere was. Peking can be a little chaotic in the shopping center lot but it is not too difficult to find a space. They tend to get a mid morning and late afternoon rush so try and be mindful of that. read more

Love going to Goodwill stores and will continue to shop thrift stores as long as good deals are still waiting to be found. If you're not a snob and aren't "ashamed" of entering a Goodwill, you may end up find some AMAZING deals in the store. This place is absolutely filthy , instead of worrying about the cleanliness of the place the employees are too busy demanding that customers wear masks than cleaning the store . I will NEVER SHOP here ever again . I'm more likely to catch covid from the store since it's obvious that cleaning and sanitizing this location is not their first priority. read more

I will never spend my money at this location; they give a 10% discount on M/T/W to students/military/seniors! Big deal; the Goodwill stores in Orcutt and Santa Maria give 25% on Mondays. That is a worthwhile discount. This location is sooooo expensive, too. Never again. read more

Went to drop off a perfectly fine end table and desk chair and they would not take it because the side had a scratch. Their reasoning is because it is not resaleable ! Are you serious!?! This was a decent Goodwill and definitely worth a stop! I will start by saying, I'm not a big fan of Goodwills. They send a lot of items over to Ebay or shopgoodwill.com and they have too many Target leftovers for my taste. However, this Goodwill was fun and had some treasures to be found. They had excellent selection and prices on beach items - like chairs, boogie boards, etc. Well worth stopping by if you are passing through to spend time at the beach. Clothes and knickknacks were decent also. We were shopping at Vons next door and passed through here even though we don't typically bother with Goodwills. Came in this weekend to check out what they had, so glad I did! I found some really fun pieces! I read a few comments about over pricing items and didn't come across that while I was there. They also have different deals everyday based on the color of the tag, Saturday was blue but all the pieces I purchased were pink. I will definitely be back! read more

Sooooo over priced!!! They have used stuff marked at new prices!! Like thier crafts, your truly better off going to a craft store!! Baby clothes are good, but not much baby clothes, and they want 6.00 to 8.00 for thier used warn shoes!! They do have a dressing room tho! Lots of variety every time I shop here. Some items are very reasonably priced while others...not so much and this of course varies. If you're one of those shoppers who likes everything completely organized, this is not the place for you. I always have to dig and I spend about an hour here to walk away with only a couple treasures. read more

This goodwill is always pretty well stocked. Great resource for halloween costumes. Also have bought several cheap great quality picture frames. Lots of kitchen supplies, very little furniture. RIPOFF & deceiving This store removes the 50 percent colored tags and replaces them with the colored tags for the time of 3 weeks later. So if you think your going get the current colered 50 percent tags items and get a deal, SURPRISE Your not!!! I was just inside the store watching a worker removing the tags that would be 50 percent off for next week,Sunday-Saturday. And putting on next, next week's colored tag. We have seen this happen at this store regularly! The manager sure is teaching the employees deceiving business practices. Let's hear why you do this at your "Goodwill"store! read more
