They switch out the bins every so often and shut the aisle down until finished- they are loud and have to yell because people don't listen. They will even change the bins mid-rummage. The cashier was not friendly and asked me why I would come today (just a regular Sunday). I had not noticed this before. So yes, they do announce it. However, I visited again on a Monday, which is Senior Day. Customers aged 55+ get a 25% discount off their entire order (I am 55+). They also have a "frequent shopper" discount card good for 15% off. The cashier (who, by the way he interacted with the staff, appeared to be a manager) said I could use just one. I said no prob, use the one that will give me the best deal. Again, when I got home, I checked my receipt. He had given me the 15% discount instead of the 25% discount. I was disappointed. I was overcharged --less than $10, but still. I never reported it because there are signs that say, "All sales are final; no refunds." Besides, am I going to be the Karen who complains about being overcharged at a THRIFT STORE?!! Haha. On the other hand, their selection is pretty good, esp in the women's section. I've found new and nearly-new items my size, some with the tags still on. And I've found cute gently-used clothing for my grandkids. So yes, I will continue to shop here, especially on discount days.

I had a very disappointing experience at Uptown Cheapskate in Oklahoma City. I placed an item on…read morelayaway after the employee assisting me told me that if I changed my mind, I could get a refund. That was the only reason I agreed to move forward and signed the layaway contract -- based on what I now know was false information. I understand that I signed the contract, but I did so under deceptive circumstances. I was misled by the employee, and I never would have agreed to the layaway if I had been told the truth about their refund policy. When I returned a few days later to cancel the layaway (never having picked up the item), I was told refunds aren't allowed. I spoke with a second manager over the phone who was dismissive, interrupted me repeatedly, and refused to take accountability. She claimed the issue was just "hearsay," and said they asked the employee -- who denied saying I could get a refund. All of this happened in less than a week. The employee who helped me clearly had limited experience -- she followed a guidebook and said she had only done a few layaways. Instead of acknowledging that I was misinformed, the store chose to defend itself and ignore the situation. It's clear they care more about keeping the money than doing what's right for the customer. They would rather lose a loyal customer than accept responsibility and fix the problem. I'm sharing this to warn others about how this store conducts business and how poorly they treat customers when mistakes are made.
