It's located at the corner of Collier Rd and Defoor Ave, across the street from Patrick's Sub Shop and catty-corner from FIGO Pasta's Upper Westside location. I usually drop off donations at the Goodwill on Northside Drive, but I was getting my emissions checked next door at Dekra. Goodwill and Dekra share the same lot. While waiting in line at Dekra, I happened to have things in my trunk that I wanted to donate, so I got out of my car and dropped those things off here. This was around 2:30pm on an ordinary Thursday. The hours for this location are supposed to be 10am-6pm, daily. However, the store was closed when I pulled into the lot around 2:20pm. I saw one guy walk up to the front doors, with a bag to donate, only to turn around because the store was closed. Minutes later, I saw someone inside flip the sign from "Closed" to "Open." That's when I walked my things over. A lady inside saw me approaching. She opened the door and told me to put my items on the cart outside. She asked me if I needed a receipt and I said no. We thanked each other and I got back in line at the emissions place. While back to waiting in line, I watched as car after car pulled up, dropping off various donations, large and small. A Goodwill employee came out into the parking lot to help with larger/bulk items, sometimes rolling out the cart. A sign on the front door says, "No Dumping." So don't drop things off if they're closed. I also watched as an immigrant family walked up and picked up a batch of clothes (and perhaps other items), some of it baby clothes. It appeared to be a prearranged deal, since this is a donation-only center.

My wife and I have been doing business with Jennifer ever since she opened her own shop. I was a fool for not going to her for this job first. After the demise of its owner we were pleased to see Jennifer open her own facility across the street. Jennifer will treat you and your wallet kindly and with a smile. James is a true craftsman with decades of experience under his belt. Check them out for yourself, but be warned: their business hours are a bit 'North Georgia', if you get my drift. This was a little annoying until I got used to it. I now consider it a bit of southern charm.

I was unaware of this until I called about a different discrepancy to address. I found out that the facility had a new manager Ms. Shequita and upon explaining to her the situation, she was the one that informed me of the correct policy. Ms. Shequita Is the Saving grace of this facility. She is the reason this is a 5 review and not 3. Pros for the facility: super clean, gated, has surveillance & well maintained. Cons for the facility: I need access to my unit 24/7 since it is over 2 hours from where I am. Even though you have your own gate code to gain access, I only found out that you can't get in 24/7 when I drove over night to grab some items and the gate wouldn't open. So there are limited hours for access. I have never experienced that before with any other storage facility & I specifically asked the previous manager about access. So yea, Ms. Shequita is a 5 manager & she needs a raise.
