I am so heartbroken to have donated a box full of glasses, wine glasses and glass pitcher to have them dumped upside-down and broken right in front of me. You really should warn people at the door that their glass items will be dumped like garbage instead of put out for others. Lesson learned the hard way. read more

Another lucky find in our quest to put together a matching furniture 2000 ensemble for the college apartment! In my review of the Good Samaritan thrift store in Helena , we were able to find a coffee table. Well, Goodwill of Butte came through and supplied an opportunity to get a matching end table. Good staff, reasonable prices, and fresh inventory make this a worthwhile spot for picking through Buttes cast offs! 5 stars! Edit: Luckily they are not picky about what they take in and we found a rather nasty 3rd matching end table. A bit of elbow grease and it's 1978 again. I wore a tightly woven cashmere scarf covering my nose and mouth. It was stable, effective, and thicker than my cotton face covering. I was absolutely mortified when the cashier yelled across half a dozen other customers that I needed to put a mask on. I pointed out that my face was covered with a scarf thicker than a mask. She raised her voice again and told me it wasn't a mask. She then yelled, "Leave my store!!" I am a retired Air Force Medic with two college degrees. I'm not stupid and I understand the science behind face coverings to stop the spread of COVID. I was more than adequately covered. Nobody, whether they live on the street or a mansion, should ever be treated like this. I will never, ever shop there again. What horrible customer service by an ignorant and rude cashier. read more

Great location. Clean and easy to get around. Found a lot of really good deals but also a lot of like new stuff for my side resale business. I have been to almost every goodwill in the state except for maybe one. And I'd say this ranks right up there next to the new one in Great Falls. If you're in the market to pop some tags--this is the place in Butte to do it! read more

I think this is a newly built store with a good inventory. There was a little bit of everything and it's on par with other Goodwills in the area. I was going to buy a cup here but then I noticed it was damaged. There is a nice book collection too. The parking situation seems tight here so you may have to park further away. read more

this has been my go to store for everything. sadly theres been a lot of change in management. the store is the dirtiest it's ever been. prices have also been jacked up. there's a TON of theft. especially on sundays when that seems to be tweeter day. your poor employyes arent paid enough to deal with them!! there high turn over too. you never see the same employees. Jackie was great. and Jamie. it went down hill after they were let go. BSW has great prices. wish more people donated to them. that's where I mostly go now. get more for my money. they don't give high dollar items to corpo to sell either. thankfully your employees miss something every once in awhile. probably due to high turn over. lower your prices. read more

This is probably the worst Goodwill in the state . Aside from the ridiculously over priced stained/outdated/worn clothes/shoes the employees are the definition of unprofessional. I went there today like I do ever couple of weeks , I had filled a basket with clothes to try on and was excited. So I take my full cart over and try my clothes on , 5 items at a time , and by the time I am done only like 2 shirts had fit me and the rest I put on the return rack (along with just leaving my cart under the return rack bc I had some shoes that didnt fit and the store was like 10 minutes away from closing so I was told to get in line immediately when I exited the fitting room). Anyways I try to get in the excessively long line (only one cashier open while 5 other workers were standing around doing nothing). I remembered I needed to grab 2 glasses for an art project I am doing .. and while I am browsing I found 2 large organizers so I snagged those and set them down on the counter next to the open one grabbed my glasses and was coming back to the line. Just as I stepped back in line some bigger lady whom I can only assume is a manager she decided to tell me I had to leave my purse by the front door? I kindly let her know I was heading back into line and told her I didn't feel comfortable leaving my reasonably sized purse by the door or in her control due to my wallet, phone, id cards, car keys , and other important personal property being in it . If she had a problem with my bag she could have put a sign up or let me know I cant have it on me when I entered her store . At this point she had put back one of my organizers when I grabbed my glasses so I asked her if she moved it because I was planning on buying it and she shook her head no even though she clearly had moved it to the area of the homegoods section she had been organizing. I informed her I was just going to grab it so I could buy it and at this point she starts screaming at me and telling me to put my bag by the door . She threatened me and said "I will not ask you again" as I had grabbed my organizer and stepped the 6 steps needed to be back in line. At this point she had made a scene and everyone in line had a very uncomfortable look on their faces as I feel like crying because I have never been treated so crappy by anyone , retail worker or not, in my LIFE!!! As I finally get my turn to check out and was watching the total I realized I didnt have enough money to buy a tank top .. so I turned around and set it on her closed counter because there was no way I was leaving my bag by the door to be stolen or under this mentally unstable managers supervision long enough to put it on the return rack. BIG MISTAKE!!!! She stomped over to the closed counter, picked up the tank top/hanger I just had set on the counter 30 seconds prior, picked it up, and threw it at me / her poor young cashier saying she was throwing it in the trash because "she is tired of shit being set on her counter". She literally was maybe and inch away from hitting me in the eye / nose and about 3 inches away from smoking her young cashier in the face with it as this perfectly fine tank top sailed to the trash. I couldnt help but laugh at this psychotic lady at that point , mainly because she made a huge scene, accused me of being a theif with no reason to, and had in general degraded me and treated me like scum, I could feel tears welling up in my eyes . Everyone else was speechless as this pathetic excuse of a manager continued her rampage on to her office so she. could check her cameras because apparently I was a thief for refusing her access to my purse and belongings when my bag wasnt a problem when I entered , the hour I spent shopping, but all of the sudden she wanted it as I am checking out. Weird. I honestly dont know why I completed my transaction (or spent $20 at this horrible womans store) but it was probably because I was in shock at the scene this supposed to be professional manager was causing for no apparent reason. The customer behind me literally had a bigger bag and didnt get profiled once . I have never been profiled or judged so harshly and incorrectly before . That $20 will be the last money of mine this Goodwill ever sees. I plan on driving to Bozeman to donate my belongings instead of this location. So yeah, if the ridiculously over priced / second hand / donated /stained clothing and home goods dont put you off I am sure this undesirable manager JAMIE will . read more
