The counter service is friendly, there's a decent selection of breakfast plates (soft boiled eggs, rolls, meat & cheese; muesli) & lunch plates (soup, panini). Pretzels, pastry & donuts--all baked off premises--are also to be had. We spent more than a few early mornings and late afternoons at this corner spot. It's very well visited, so grabbing a table can be tricky, but not always impossible. In a town where many joints are closed on Sundays, this place is open, if however briefly. Sunday hours: 8-11am. Beautiful place in the heart of my favorite city on the Lake of Constance, over view the old market…read moresquare or maybe even catch a seat inside or outside. if its winter there are sheets to keep you warm. the beautiful room is a high cellar like dungeon with huge pillars and wooden beams. you can order your food or drinks right at the bar and pay there also , as it is self service. excellent coffee drinks, warm or cold, also great with all kids of different spreads, little food items and smoothies or juices are available. the service is fast and friendly, at least when i was there and that was a saturday morning, busy busy... getting a seat can be a little tricky when its full, and be aware that germans sit together with people they don't know, so if you have a table for yourself you might end up somebody asking you if they can sit with you! i just love the mix between old and new architecture and that it is in the center of everything.
