Finding good coffee, delicious cakes and somewhere to power up my devices is normally front and centre on the checklist that I use when looking for for an awesome cafe, but this one falls down (nearly) on all three. So why is it still worth keeping in mind? Simply put, this is a suit hangout.
There are occasions that you need to meet someone and have a conversation that requires a little more finesse than a small cramp cafe can offer (even if the coffee is outstanding). Located in the foyer of the NAB building, this is one of those places that you can sit comfortably in a nice clean environment, and not feel too squashed with one table bumping up against another. If you are looking for something like this, but feel that the NAB is too much a fishbowl for what you require, you might want to check out Espresso Bianco (review http://frid.co/vLfaom ).
As for the coffee... it was prob a 7/10 which is not horrendous in any means. Main problems were as stated in 80% of my reviews on cafes, that there was too much milk. The addition of the choc was a nice touch, and the table service was great.
On a side note, be careful no to leave te NAB without paying. It had totally slipped my mind (as the counter was so far away from the table), and so I had to go back in (though...they had not noticed...).
