this is an amazing driving school I sent my daughter here she had a fear of driving after 10 hours of driving i took my daughter out driving and she blew my mind . Betty is a true professional she definitely know her stuff . First of all, driving schools are a rip-off. You don't learn anything of value in them - they're all a crock. My parents took drivers ed for free in school and they told me about the simulators. But most schools no longer do that and have farmed it out to the private sector, which is where we all get ripped off. That said, this one was more useless than others my friends told me about. The instructors would repeat themselves ad nauseum, and it was difficult to stay awake. 30 hours of instruction could be whittled down to 5 or 6 hours easily. Then when it finally came time to schedule in-car sessions, the only available times were early in the morning. Who wants to wake up at 6 a.m. to drive? And the instructors were late and would have us run errands. If you have to do this to get a license, which we do and that is THE problem, shop around. At least find one with accessible driving times. read more

Good star driving school and driving instructors in car and in the classroom are amazing. They help you every step of the way they let you know what you need to do so you can pass. They want you to be successful. They want you to be great. I came here to learn how to drive, not to run errands for the instructors. For my first in-car session, I sat in the car for a good 15 minutes so the instructor could buy McDonald's for his daughter. Then spent the next 20 minutes driving to some gymnastics club to deliver said McDonald's to said daughter. During my second in-car session, the instructor spent about 10 minutes talking to his wife about picking up a bassinet for his sister or some other non-driving-related crap. Sat through those 10 minutes twiddling my thumbs, waiting for him to give me the damn keys so I could finally drive. Gave up and didn't bother doing a third in-car. Ended up getting my license through a different driving school that, unbelievably, ACTUALLY TAUGHT ME TO DRIVE. read more

They were great at teaching inside the classroom, but the in-cars were a pain. Scheduling took forever because they were unorganized. It took me 3 months to do 3 in-cars because they were "busy". My instructor sat on the phone for a good half hour before we started my first in-car. It was ridiculous. My last in-car was scheduled between 2-4, but I told the lady I need to make it at 3. She said it was OK and that I can still do my in-car. So, I went to the school at 3, and my instructor lectured me about how I'm late and that she wouldn't be able to do my in-car. The in-cars are horribly unorganized, but the class was fine as far as I can tell. read more

They will take your money and run. Don't go here. They knew we were moving in less than a month and needed to get my son's lessons in asap. They said before I paid that it would be done no problem. So I paid and signed him up. They wouldn't let me schedule the in car lessons until he was done with the online course, even though we were on a time crunch. Once finished they said they were booked on in car lessons until 2 weeks after we moved. I had to make a lot of phone calls and call the mva, use a lot of sugar. Finally they "squeezed" my son into their schedule. The instructor was late picking him up and early dropping him off, yet wrote the correct times down when he was complete. So I paid for 6 hours, but got 3. Then once we drove 1 1/2 hours to the only MVA that would take an emergency road test and a day before we move no less, We find out that the "School" never entered my son's information into the system. So he was turned away. All the school had to do was type his completion into the MVA system, that's their job. As it is for all students. But since they knew we were leaving for Florida they took advantage and just kept our money. They are only hurting new drivers on the road by not giving them the proper instruction they need. read more

I paid for my driving classes 4 months ago and I still haven't even step foot in any of my in cars, every time I tried to schedule them they told me that they didn't have any spots available, and when I finally was able to reserve a spot, the cancelled it because they were moving locations and I still have yet to do any of my in cars. I paid 400$ and I still haven't even done any of my in cars and I've been waiting for about 4 months. DONT GO HERE read more

Having spent a couple of weeks researching different driving schools and asking other parents, we finally decided on Goodstart! Why? Because the price is unbeatable, every person I spoke to loved the staff and the Saturday morning free practice car park sessions were fantastic! Scheduling the in-cars were dealt with quickly even during after the snow disruption. We paid extra for a '10 hour driving lesson' package which was invaluable... My daughter passed first time at 16 and it's all thanks to great staff and instructors at Goodstart! read more

My son attended Good Start Driving School in 2010 and he learned so much! He even taught me how to correctly parallel park and I've been driving for 26 years. The school has the most affordable price in the county but it's more than that. I wanted value and trust in the fact that he would gain valuable tools to be a SAFE driver...and he did! read more

It's honestly a miracle that I even got my license. The in class at this school wasn't too bad. The instructor made it so that you could grasp everything easily and made sure you knew everything by the end of each class. I passed with flying colors. Now the issue came with in cars. My first in car went pretty well, not too many issues but I could not stand my instructor for the life of me. She LOVED to grab the wheel, like I'm not going to crash the car but you grabbing will definitely increase the chances of that happening. Soon after that I had to leave for school which put me in the position of not being able to go back for the rest of my in cars as well as practice. So when I finally came back a year later for my 2nd in car, I admit I was rusty. At the end of the session I was told this wouldn't be counted and to just practice and schedule my last car which would be all or nothing. Later that day I got a call from the owner informing me that What instructor said was not true but that if i did well my last in car I would be fine, ok whatever. I got more practice and scheduled my last in car. The morning I came in I was told I had to pay a $35 fee for not coming in after a year (huh?) so you're telling me because of the fact that I was away at school I have to more on top of the $300+ I paid for classes + in car!? Ok whatever. The last in car went well but I had to ask to be taught how to two point reverse roundabout or whatever it's called (mind you when I asked my instructor during the second in car about the parking part of the test she said I had to learn from them; she didn't do my last in car the owner did and she said that wasn't even true, so their communication is shit, sorry). I didn't really learn anything and had to google It and learn more in depth that way. I understand driving school is not supposed to teach you how to drive but instead prepare and help you become a safer driver AND prepare for your test. I felt ill prepared and honestly I feel as though I wasted money ‍ I only passed my test by the grace of God. Do yourself a favor and go to Greg's or Astick. Haven't heard anything bad about them , you get what you pay for!!!!! read more

I am an insurance agent and witnessed a student driver going through a red light while I had a green light and thankfully did not proceed through the busy intersection . When I called to report this incident I was told "she made a mistake " and the man hung up on me . Not the response I was looking for... no apologies, no "we are speaking with the student driver " etc...if this is the attitude of this driving school I would recommend people look elsewhere to obtain driving skills , lessons and manners for their new drivers. read more

Instructor was 15 minutes late to first driving session and 30 minutes late to the second session. We lost out on 45 minutes out of a 4 hour session. When I mentioned this to the instructor, I was met with rudeness. The actual instruction was fine but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. read more

Good Start Driving School is GREAT. My daughter passed the road test the first time with a perfect score. She learned the rules of the road from Mr. Dave and how to drive from Ms. Betty.
