This store is the worst, for instance, I had found a bag at this store which was marked 6.99 the…read morebag had issues with it, so I had asked could they maybe take less because it didn't look like what was on it would come out. The lady I talked to takes the bag and goes noit will go to salvage ok, REALLY!!! So now when you ask for a round up at the desk....... NOooo I don't think so, never again!!!!

This place really put a dent in my thrifting hobby with their Greed. I've heard the rumors about…read moreGREEDwill, now I can confirm. One of the things I enjoy buying are old books. It's like owning a piece of history and I enjoy seeing how language has changed over the years. I could go on... As I was checking out yesterday evening, the lady stopped scanning my items and grabbed my book. She kept saying wow, wow, when looking at it. It wasn't a fascination wow but an upset wow. I asked her is something wrong? She opened the book to see when it was published. It showed 1955. She said she wasn't supposed to sale me this book. It was supposed to have gone to Ecom for pricing. Anything before 1970 has to go to Ecom she said. I don't know what Ecom is but I believe it's to sale for big bucks on their auction website and not in-person. I asked are you going to sale me the book? It shouldn't be out with the other books if I can't buy it. The guy behind the counter told her to sale it to me. I was annoyed. I told them both this experience has taken the fun out of finding old books and thrifting. They didn't care. She was so upset because I found an old book and had to sale it to me. I can say this much it wasn't worth much. Than she had the nerve to ask me to round up. I said, are you serious? No way. You can send my donation to Ecom whatever that is. I feel this place is no longer a place to find fun stuff but more of a place for drop off donations only so the best stuff can be sold online at auction for big prices and what's left goes on the floor. Why are they a non profit? This ordeal confirmed the rumors for me are true. This stuff is donated and I repeat donated! They don't pay for their inventory. To act like this over a two dollar book? I'm done giving them my business and I will be sharing my story about this situation with others. If you donate old books, please give to the our house thrift store in North Little Rock or happy grey in Sherwood. Both of these places don't pull this greed and give back. Again, I don't get how this company claims to be a non profit. That status should be taken away. It's a front and whoever issues these non profit status should look into the horror stories. So many out there. The changing lives bit is a joke. I have seen shirts here for over 10 bucks that were not name brand. Walmart is cheaper and they are brand new. Too many horror stories out there and this experience just opened my eyes. I never believe rumors until I see it for myself and I can say not only have I seen it but experienced it at checkout. Thanks Goodwill NLR for opening my eyes!

I have no clue who that Sarah S. person is on here writing a review of nonsense. Maybe some of it…read moreis true such as Bonnie's son and his legal troubles (I have no idea). Maybe what they make each year with that business is true... I don't know. However, what is not true is prices. Helping Hands is definitely top on my list of places to shop at low-as-they-go prices. Clothing is $1.00 unless otherwise stated (hoodies and jackets are $2 and I think $3). Prom dresses are $10.00 and up. Etc. Etc. Yes, there are no prices marked on (hardly) anything. Furniture does normally have prices marked. As far as this not helping the community... we live in a world of capitalism. You know, something the majority of southerners support. So therefore, if they really are making $750,000.00 in donations and not "doing anything with it", then good for them. Because guess what? They are doing something. They are making clothing available at very reasonable prices. If your house burns down and they give you free stuff (as the Sarah review stated), then there you go. That's helping the community. Selling whatever variety of things they have in there at very low prices help the community as well. It certainly helps us poor folks out. Remember, all clothing is $1.00 unless otherwise stated. ;) Last time I checked, they actually run their own church now at the old skating rink. Yeah, sure... churches evade taxes... I get it. But at least the spiritual well-being of many out there is doing well... right? So is that not helping? ;) I also want to add that ALL of the staff have always been nice and friendly towards me. I have no complaints at all about them, and I very much enjoy shopping in there. I will be back again and again.

"Helping Hands" until your toddler needs to use the bathroom while you're there. The lady working…read morethe front desk told us they don't have a public restroom. I explained it was for my 2 year old who was standing there saying she needed to go potty. Very disheartening when your child who is potty training is asking to use the bathroom is being told no just because that lady couldn't be bothered to show us where the bathroom was.
