Bottle O Taylor Square knows how to party. They know a good bottle of wine. What's more, they…read morebring you olives and cheeses. Basically, they're the ideal mate. Whilst the bottle shop goes off most weekends, the biggest party of the year comes at Sydney Mardi Gras, when the shop (just off Oxford St) switches to disco mode complete with lasers, disco balls, pumping beats and short, short, short shorts. Go there to stock up early in the day or pop by for top-ups later in the night, but be careful - photographic evidence of the previous years' Mardi Gras plasters the walls in the front of the shop. Every other day of the year Bottle O still satisfies. The deli shaves ham fresh off the bone and their anchovy olives are the perfect pairing with a good Pinot Gris. The staff there really know their wine and are happy to help you out, and most weekends they host wine and occasional cheese tastings too. Whilst prices might be marginally higher than at your average liquor super-store, Bottle O feels as if it's run by a couple of your mates. Locals are known by name, and after a couple of visits you will be too. You might even get the chance to name one of their new pet fish - just don't ask what happened to the last one.

Beer and Wine are expensive - but let's be honest...we're in Sydney - where isn't it? Bonus - they always have White Rabbit in stock!

I was apprehensive at first because I wanted to make sure to get a good one as a gift. I was brought to this warehouse that sells wine at wholesale prices. There was so much to choose from! I honestly wanted to buy quite a few of them and the employee there helped with some recommendations. The prices were great. I ended up choosing one from yarra valley and lo and behold, the boy really liked it. I'll definitely hit up this shop again when I'm in town.

Great little bottle and wine shop tucked away on Kent Street. This store has a vast selection of…read morewines, both on the shelf and in the cooler. They also had a discounted barrel with wines priced to sell... several decent bottles for $5-$7 included. There is a beer freezer in the rear of the store which holds 7-8 domestic beers and 10+ imported beers ranging from $13-$25 for a six pack. There was also a respectable amount of ciders to choose from. However, you will not find any beers over 5% alcohol or any true craft beers. The counter attendant on duty when we visited was best described as douchy... acting annoyed by our questions regarding various wines and beers, and as if we were interrupting his day by wanting to check out. Regardless of the douchy staff, I still assign this bottle shop 4 stars for the great selection and fair prices.
