If you have restless children while visiting our area, bring them to Golfin Dolphin. There are activities for every age group from the fun arcade, bowling alley, racing cars, miniature golf, golf driving range, and a restaurant that has all manner of good food. Try their Cobb salad!!

Wow! Pleasantly surprised! It was a fun place for all family! Great height restrictions. My littles got to do quite a bit! The arcade did have a couple machines that weren't working properly and they did not compensate for lost money which is why it's only 4 stars. The go carts made up for it though!! It was such an amazing time. We rode the go carts 4 times sky trail is fun and the batting cage was such a fun time too!

The best part of the course, a walk through mountain/waterfall.

Traveled up to Jacksonville, from the Charleston area, to visit family. My sister arranged a tee…read moretime for us at Star Hill and I was pretty excited as I hadn't played Star Hill since I was 18 years old, 50 years ago. Having read the poor reviews from years past I felt I had to report on what playing this course is like from the 2025 perspective, here's what I observed today: A staff that goes the extra mile to ensure your Star Hill experience met standard, your standards. Professional, friendly, well managed pro shop. The course was in great shape, none of the issues addressed in previous posts, well maintained fairways and greens. The tee boxes are scaled to meet the needs of all, from the scratch player to the hacker. But there is something else that was taking place at this golf club, something that I have never before witnessed at any course, all over the world, at any time: Community! As we made the turn, there was a group of about 20 men, obviously a mens league, about to tee off on the first tee box. These men genuinely enjoyed each others company and were looking forward to a great time. Left an impression, but here was the clincher: As we were heading down the 18th fairway towards the clubhouse, we could see the driving range; it was packed with high school age kid. As we finished our ro and proceeded to the parking lot, it was full of players from all age groups, young and old, male and female, and they were having so much fun. We saw young kids pushing their carts with moms and dads. The high schoolers were heading to their designated tee boxes for some sort of competition. Seniors were organizing for something on the course. Congratulations Star Hill! There are golf clubs out there that boast of many things, but you, you have what every course dreams of; you have community. That can only be attributed to one thing: a well managed organization. I'm sure I only scratched the surface.

It's laid out has 3 9-hole courses, you may start on hole 10 and end on hole 27. The Sands course has sand in some areas that are not sand traps. The fairways are long & wide. They are doing green repairs on hole 13, so you have a temporary green. Unfortunately, they seem to be struggling with most of the greens. They are in rough shape. The Whiskey Bravo bar/ restaurant is nice and many locals seem to enjoy lunch or drinks on the patio. They have the drink/ snack cart roaming the course. Perfect course for a friendly game.

I've been playing this course for a few years now and the greens are in the best shape I've ever seen them. The fairways and all but maybe one or two tee boxes were also in pretty good shape! I thought the price was a good value for the course. Shop staff was very friendly and made us aware (before booking our tee time) that there was a fairly large group playing ahead of our twosome. I appreciated her telling us this, so we just took our time and had a great round. If you haven't played this course lately, give it another try!

Hey guys, I am breaking away from my usual restaurant motif to tell you about my golf round today…read more I'm going to be as balanced, fact based and non-bias as usual. I would like to start off by saying it's an absolutely beautiful course. The people in the pro shop were very nice and helpful. I feel the course is ran well and you can tell they are working on maintanence improvements. I do not recommend playing this course if you shoot over a 10 handycap. You will lose a bunch of balls and be frustrated most the round. This is not meant as a criticism. Its a precision and target play golf on almost every hole. Most holes are tight, and many have funky ( but fun) lay outs for more advanced players. Be sure to look at the course prior to coming. The fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great shape. The carts had a real nice GPS system that gave you precision location and distances, and can keep your score electronically. Very cool. I will go over what I consider the main issues we had while playing and why I am giving the the course a 2 out of 5 stars. Its a fair ranking considering the cost of the course with 3 holes (2 greens under repair) and the level of stress we were put under by the technology in the cart constantly "doorbell" ringing reminders and being asked to speed up by course ranger (he was nice and professional, but was wrong to ask us to speed up). My friends and I get together once a year to have some fun and relax. We are okay players, not precision players and have played hundreds of courses. We know good course conduct and pace rules. We were playing to a 3.5 hour pace (avg 11.3 minutes per hole) on hole 9 when the ranger showed up and asked us to speed up because we have 4 groups behind us. First of all, we were playing faster than standard pace, we should not have been asked to speed up. Secondly, the 2 groups behind us were "two-somes", who had not come up on us once in the first 8 holes. We were not slowing the course down, but sure felt like after the warning. The ranger was nice, but the situation made us play even faster, which created a not so fun time for us. I could tell my friends were stressed after being engaged by the ranger. The doorbell warning that rings during every hole to remind us about cart path rules was distracting and very irritating. The geofencing reminders makes the doorbell reminders unnecessary. The "rings" create a level of stress that makes the round feel rushed. As a thought, maybe have the doorbell ring when there is a water hole, bathroom coming up or if you are on hole 9, a reminder to call ahead and order food to speed up the turn. In summary, we ended the round in under 3.5 hours, we were unnecessarily rushed on a hard course for our level of play (but were keeping a better than average pace). We paid full price when 2 of the greens were under construction and we were not told. However, I do recommend this course for a better player. It's very nice, the staff was great and the GPS technologies are really cool. The group agreed we would like to come back and try it again now that we know what to expect.

I went here with my boyfriend and his extended family - our group of 13 (ages across 3 generations)…read moreeasily spent almost 2 hours here and we golfed pretty efficiently! This course was one of the most enjoyable and scenic courses I've ever had the pleasure of playing at. Many of these holes were creative and doable as well. And during one of the holes where there's a chance your putt putt ball can fall into the water, there's a grate to catch it. The prices are pretty great, at $14/person for the first round and only $6/person for the second round (for golf at least). The only thing we could really give feedback on was that the train was broken at the time, but they were communicative with us about it and it didn't affect how much we could play. We could still easily access the upper levels of the course just fine, and even our elderly players walked up the steps and slopes fine as well. Some of the "mineshaft" looking areas were pretty warm and stuffing (just a warning!), though. Overall, it's a really enjoyable and nice place to go to with groups. It's one of the larger activity-based attractions on the island, so depending on when you go, it can get quite busy. The ambiance was lively, though, and it drizzled a bit (I like a little rain). They also had go-kart raceways and water boats, too! We'll definitely be coming back to enjoy all the activities in its entirety :)

I was coming from Atlantic Beach and the best way to the course seemed to me to take the ferry across the Neuse River. The schedule is below and once you get off at the Minnesott terminal, it's basically three turns and you're at the course. www.ncdot.gov/travel-maps/ferry-tickets-services/routes/Pages/default.aspx I did make a tee-time through their website and even though it was a beautiful sunny day, it still was a weekday in mid-March and overall there was no need. www.minnesottgolf.org/tee-times/ The course was a mixed bag. From the whites it's about 6000 yards, so nothing crazy long. A lot of trees and water in some form or another comes into play on about half of the holes. The one bad thing I would say is that the course, at least to me in the traditional form, doesn't really have any rough. Everything was mostly green, but also cut very low. Low as in where does the green start/end and the fairway or rough begin. As long you weren't in the trees, you're hitting off of....sort of nothing. I did not partake in any of their food offerings at the restaurant, which is in the same building as the pro shop, but it was busy and everyone there seemed to know everyone. I don't anticipate coming back to the area any time soon, but if I do, I will definitely come back for another round. (3.5 rounding up)

I've been golfing for several years and always take a few lessons a year to help get me off on the right foot and stay consistent each season. I called around and found a true diamond in the rough. The head golf pro, Matt, gave me a great lesson at a very good price for a private country club. (You don't need to be a member to take lessons) For those of you new to golf, lessons can be discouraging. You basically have someone telling you that you're doing about 20 things wrong and even when you fix 1 thing you're still doing 19 wrong so you don't always see immediate improvement. Matt kept things very smooth and never once made me feel like I didn't belong as a non-member. He keeps his instruction simple and doesn't incorporate too many changes all at once. In fact, during the course of our 1 hour session he made 3 changes to my swing (stance, hands, release) but did it in a way that didn't overwhelm me with multiple new ideas. Each idea built on the last so there was continuity and thought in each step. Also, his visual aids are simple and easy to understand (I once had a pro in NJ put me in a piece of cardboard with a hole in the middle to understand swing planes...). My final thought is that the lessons are on the full grass driving range which, for me, is a huge plus over a crappy old golf mat. Hitting on grass gives a much more realistic approach than hitting on mats.
