Great selection of clubs and equipment but they gave me no attention because I'm younger and wasn't dressed up

In my 17 years of playing competitive golf I have never played a course that was so poorly…read moremaintained, not worth the money at all to be here. By far one of the worst courses I've played.

This course has 2 18 hole tracks. The easier "Tournament" course and the harder "Championship"…read morecourse. From what I can tell, the Championship course is also used for foot golf (golf using soccer balls). I played here on a Thursday afternoon. The staff seemed friendly enough. I was advised that the Tournament course was easier but wasn't in as good a shape as the harder Championship course. I chose the Championship course. Thank God I got in under the senior rate (55 and over). I paid $22 for the round. It was barely worth that. The course just isn't in good shape. Tee boxes were OK only. Greens were decent. Fairways were pretty awful. There just isn't enough grass. Most fairways are tree lined and there's not much more than some weeds and mud under the trees. Even attempting to improve a sparse lie in the fairway is difficult as there just isn't much grass. The scorecard indicates there's marker poles set up at 100, 150 and 200 yds. There were only 150 yd poles that I could see. The course itself is somewhat difficult to follow. I was on the 9th hole and saw 2 flags, one for the ninth and the other for the 18th. I wound up hitting towards the 18th green not knowing any different. Even finding the 1st and 10th tees on the Championship course requires asking a marshall as nothing is marked. Gas powered carts but they're r-e-a-l-l-y slow. I don't drive like Mario Andretti but the cart I had just sort of sputtered along. They were re-paving the golf paths, I'd suggest they skip that and concentrate more on getting the fairways in shape. We're close to May and I was forced to play lift and place because too many shots that landed in the fairway had mud on them due to the lack of grass. Unless you can get a deal I would advise not playing here for full price.

We went to buy track suits today at Academy for my 85 year old father in a wheelchair…read more Limited inventory and a mixed bag of customer service. My father asked a 60+ year old woman with no makeup and a grown out diver flat top for help She turned her back on him an told me that she was too busy, her male counterpart was at lunch and she was behind in orders because of him. My father was embarrassed and belittled. There is a word for women who behave like that but it isn't used in mixed company outside of a Veterinarians office. As best of all, this woman is a store manager! I hope Grant actually sees this. We took the one suit we had picked out and went to Dillards. From when I was a little boy, Dillards and MM Cohn's were the department stores. Customer service and selection were always top drawer My dress suits came from Bauman's and everything else from those two establishments. After flying 1,200 miles I home I understand that selection will not be what it is in LA, NY or wherever my job sends me around the world. What I will not accept is poor , rude customer service. In this economy, ALIAH (spelling?) should be reminded by her manager that a job is a blessing and a customer with cash In hand is a luxury. So off we went to Dillards where I dropped a hefty sum buying him anything he needed or wanted. He deserves respect as a human being and to be responded to when addressed. It's just good cotillion quality manners. And I happen to love making him happy. So here we are at Dillards and guess what? They didn't have two items in his size. Without asking they sourced it from The Little Rock store and we are on our way to pick them up now. I keep a list of needs and wants and places to go to get them. Academy is no longer on that list. Go to Dillards. The prices are pretty competitive and they will treat you like a welcome customer for years. I know because I am one.

2nd bad experience with Academy Sports…read more First experience they charged me 3 times for one item. Eventually was refunded. Now I have had my order cancel for the second time! Warning do not shop online! They are a joke! Lost hrs of my time and $100s of dollars. Rogers Sporting goods is a way better option!
