Rene says that they treat their customers as they would like to be treated themselves and this is so obvious in every single interaction I've had with them. They are friendly and fair and honest. The long version- I called Golf & Electric Vehicles last month (Phillips Highway location in Jacksonville FL) to set up a golf car / golf cart rental for my 86 and 87-year-old parents. My dad's driving situation had changed. Renting was giving our family time to decide if maybe a golf car would be a good option for them for transportation around their community in the future. We had already rented a cart for our parents for 2 weeks from a different vendor- whose prices were higher and who was literally impossible to reach on the phone when we were hoping to extend the rental for longer. We are so lucky that we found this company instead of trying to continue on with the first vendor. Rene is an absolutely fantastic first impression -and continuing impression- of this company. She made a reservation for a rental cart for us over the phone, recommended to choose their monthly rate instead of weekly rate because it saves a TON of $$ (we had been thinking of going week to week), arranged to drop it off at my parents' residence. She also talked with me for awhile about what to seek and what to avoid if we decided to purchase a car/cart in the future, answered some random questions I had and was just overall so nice and helpful- it was so easy to talk to her. She even said that if we were looking at purchasing a cart from a different vendor, to feel free to call her with any questions about it beforehand ! We ended up canceling the rental because we found a very clean used cart for purchase (at an unbelievable price at a gated community garage sale !) on the weekend before the rental was to be delivered. Rene was so cool about the change in plans and she again spent time talking with me on the phone about the new cart- making sure we knew how to charge it and maintain the proper water level in the batteries and answering more random questions about getting it set up for my parents. My mom really wanted seat belts in their cart. When I asked about getting aftermarket ones installed, Rene actually told me that if my brother is handy at all (and he totally is!), HE could buy and install a seat belt kit himself for way less $$ than having them do it. I wouldn't have known- and how many other companies would have taken advantage of someone who clearly didn't know ? Rene also mentioned a service special for $99- which we did. The price includes pickup and drop-off. They put the cart up on a lift and checked literally everything from top to bottom, bumper to bumper, wheels and tires, battery, brakes, lights, electric, everything. They cleaned all of the corrosion off of the battery terminals, tightened all of the connections and cables, tires are all at proper pressures now, proper water level in batteries- and then they also (for additional charge, quoted before they did the work) replaced all of the bushings- some of them had been broken when my dad hit the wheels against a curb near their residence soon after acquiring the cart. I've also spoken with John and Troy on the phone with questions over the past few weeks- both of these guys are also friendly and so informative, helpful and kind. There are alot of retirement and independent living /assisted living communities in and around Jacksonville- this place has hooked up many of these residents with carts. They know what modifications for carts make it easier for seniors and will advise if something is important as opposed to unnecessary/optional. Like when Rene called me with the quote for parts and labor for replacing the bushings on my parents' cart- she said that this was NOT a critical issue, that it could be done at any time in the future. She understood that my parents are on fixed income and was honest that it would not hurt the cart in the least or cause future/ worse problems if we needed to hold off on it. After this service and repair process on this cart, we know everything is solid. We don't expect anything unforeseen to go wrong with it but Rene has assured us again that we should call them anytime we have questions or concerns. For a family new to the world of golf cars, this type of service is SO important and so cool. The owner came back with he would include it in the deal for "his cost, $95.00". I countered with, "I'm paying full retail price, you can include for the $95.00". He said no! He was silly enough to lose the whole deal for $95.00! I was very courteous and not demanding about anything during the whole process. If that small a difference made the deal fall thru, I certainly would not want him servicing the cart in the future. He probably would nickel and dime you to death if his margins are that small! I bought 3 miles down the road and actually got a much better cart for a reasonable price.

I have never been more disappointed in a local business than I have with Ponte Vedra Golf Carts…read more I was forced to go with PV Golf Carts because their competitor, North Florida Golf Carts couldn't get straight when they were supposed to come pick up the vehicle - review of N Fl Golf Carts to follow. The Bad: 1. they charge for pickup and delivery - $40 including tax round trip - seriously, this should have been a clue to me 2. service (+2 minor upgrades) took a total of 3 days to complete! 2 days just to tell me what needed to be updated. The UGLY: ****in a mailer coupon (which is the reason i considered them to begin with), they offered $500 rebate for 2020 Club Car, 20% OFF "your choice of 1 Accessory", or $30 off Regular Service which is normally $105. If you read the fine print, you cannot combine any of the coupons. ADDITIONALLY, as an 'accessory' i had them add on turning signals and break signals $299 (+tax value) - when I told the bill collections girl on the phone i wanted to use the 20% for the turning signals 'accessory' that i just had put on, she said that it was a "SAFETY FEATURE" and not an "ACCESSORY". that would have been helpful to know in the beginning what is defined as an "accessory". In addition, bad business/bad customer service is arguing your advertising minutia with a customer over an additional $29 discount - it's the principal... The WHY I'LL NEVER GO BACK, and why I'll tell all of our friends who own a Golf Cart NEVER to trust PV Golf Carts: ****as I mentioned prior, the Regular service is $105, but when they call you regarding what they found wrong with the cart, the total for me ended up OVER $2,000 in repairs. Everything from replacing all of the batteries for ~$1000, to suspension bushings (which i knew were still good since i just lubricated them), and they even tried to sell me a battery water re-filler for over $200 which i also just purchased prior from Amazon for $30. Talk about your nightmare mechanic tactics!! What do Integrity, Customer Service, and Honesty all have in common? Answer: none of these characteristics exist at Ponte Vedra Golf Carts. They said they needed to be replaced because they were all dry rotted and "leaking all over the floor" little did they know I had already replaced some of the fuel line. I replaced one piece of fuel line and fixed it for about $6... what a rip off I repeat DO NOT take your cart here for service. I was in the market for a new EZ-GO and will not be looking there.
