This jewellers is located on the main shopping street in Exeter. It is on a busy bus route and there are carparks spread around the city centre so plenty of parking.
I have shopped very often in this Goldsmiths as it is the nearest store to me.
It is very bright and airy, and the windows are always stocked with the most beautiful pieces of jewellery to entice you in.
Goldsmiths is also part of the Tesco clubcard scheme, which means I have eben able to purchase some lovely pieces of jewellery paid for with the points I collect from doing my weekly shopping at Tesco.
The Tesco scheme is obviously very popular as the prices are noticably higher in Goldsmiths compared to other local jewellers, but if you are paying part or all of your balance with these vouchers you will be getting a good deal.
The only downfall is the atitude of the staff, the manager himself is very friendly and helpful but his staff often let him down.
I spent £1000 on a eternity ring a short while ago, which to us as it would a great many people is a lot of money and the purchase was something that would have great sentimental value. But none the less the ring was not polished before it was handed to me and I was asked if I was going to wear it and not even offered a box.
After asking I was given a box and a bag, not the best impression of a professional jewellers.
Likewise I have bought watches before and they have been put in the box and when I have checked a battery had stopped in one, and the other had completely the wrong time.
Just little actions like that speak wonders.
But I wouldn't let that put you off, but be aware the service is better in every other Goldsmiths branch I have been in, the main reason I still visit here is because it is the nearest to me but if I was paying cash I would not visit but more because of the steep prices. read more
