Like other people said, the entrance feels a bit uninviting for some reason - is it that you're immediately faced with the reception desk, their gatekeeper? Or the tables to the side, surrounded by books, where a lot of times a sort of private lecture seems to be going on? Whatever it is, don't be put off by it, the members of staff are quite nice. I can attest to the versatility of the different rooms, as they are completely transformed to better suit whatever they're hosting. One month there's a huge installation making use most of the space and the next you have a stage and rows of theatre seats. There's a small café too, and the area by the big windows upstairs, overlooking the street and bathed by its light, is a good place to sit and relax for a while, a lot more relaxing than the tables downstairs.

Sure, it might not be original or very creative, but that's not why people buy souvenirs. They want some silly trinket or item that will remind them of their time somewhere. The guy at the counter was friendly and welcoming. I left with a poetry book and a pair of socks-both items that I know will be appreciated by their recipients.

This place is Ireland's largest purpose built arts centre. More than 50,000 a year come to this arts space to enjoy drama, music, comedy and dance performances. Thousands more visit the two exhibition galleries that feature the works of national and international artists. There is a bar and a cafe here too for all your interval needs. Overall this really is a great arts space and one that is well used and well needed.

Ruth was really helpful and set the items we selected aside as we shopped to our hands free. They have change rooms for you to try clothing as needed and an attendant to help you find sizes. What was really unique and cool to see was the Irish gold jewelry pieces and to learn the history about the particular source of the gold. They sell quality products from local and Irish companies. I went in there a few weeks ago with my Dad buying some things for Christmas. Everyone who we dealt…read morewith was lovely however, when my Dad asked them where the lift was because we were hungry. We were told by a retail worker who looked ashamed, that they did not have lifts. Only stairs. l then looked at the stairs and it looked like Mount Everest to me. My disability is 90% invisible however I know my limits and I had my wheelchair with me that day. The lovely retail worker offered us free tea or coffee for us to go. However at this point I felt dejected. All I wanted to do was get something to eat with my father. To whoever owns this store an/or the building; DO BETTER! How would you feel if you couldn't see half the shop? Grab a bite to eat and a drink? How would you feel if that was your child? We are only a few days away from 2026 and to see this type of discrimination against disabled people is shocking. I am n mincing my words. It was pure discrimination. Pure and simple.

There's not much room to wander in The Silver Shop's cramped digs - more space is given to the wares than customer elbow room. Here you'll get up close and personal with an eclectic collection of silver plate and delicate jewellery, culled from over 200 years of Irish collections. I'm not sure exactly how prices in here are set, but there's enough range to allow for budgets from €40 (a tiny 70's era pendant) to over €4,000 (a silver and cobalt dish... yikes!). The shop is open Monday to Saturday, leaving my Sundays open for tea, cupcakes and Discovery +1 reruns of Tony and the gang digging in fields.

The shop is apparently a branch of the Cherry's outfit currently selling much of the same in satiny clutches and dripping costume jewellery over in the St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. And with special offer earrings, bracelets and rings on sale, each under a tenner, it's easy to get glammed up for a good night out (and not worry too much about losing that sparkler on some grimy pub floor!).

It's a small boutique but I was drawn in one day by bright shiny bags on the window display. I ended up walking out with a lovely dress for the sum of €65 and it's one of those dresses that is slightly unusual and has been admired by many people since. Staff in there are friendly and manage not to seem like they're watching you even if you're the only person in there (which happens...it's small!). It's a bit hit and miss-sometimes there are lots of things I'd like, other days I won't see anything at all that takes my fancy, but it's reasonably priced and a great option for slightly unusual pieces. The accessories they stock are lovely-have to exercise great self-control to avoid bag shopping! So, if you're in the area, definitely pop in and have a nose around. You never know what you might find. And there's the added bonus of feeling like you've found somewhere special that nobody else knows about ;-)
