Both the men's and women's locker rooms offer sauna and steam rooms, so for those less-than-comfortable gym-goers who don't want to sit in a room, half-naked with the opposite sex, this is key. Body Jam and V Core are my favorite classes. You get your heart pumping and core strengthening from these classes. But there are tons more to check out!

I have been quietly getting on with my workouts when a group of older women took it in turns to undermine antagonise and basically Target me. I had to report the vile behaviour of this Sub Group to management...but the problem didnt go away. The Bitches persisted. Kate the Membership manager has NO interpersonal skills...whats so ever...all she is after is your money. She did NOTHING Except glare at me when I told her about the persistant harassment I have had from these pernicious women. I went to Eden for my Whole Health....Body Mind Spirit. I had been ordered to loose weight from a Consultant so I can have Surgury. Eden Didn't support me at all. They allowed me to be continually bullied by grey haired old ladies who seem to think it's their club....and that THEY CAN SAY WHATEVER THEY LIKE TO VULNERABLE MEMBERS. The club staff seem to support and back up this vicious group of Spiteful women... As after my verbal attack which left me shaking and in tears...NO ONE CONTACTED ME!!!! I have witnessed members shaving their armpits and body hair in the sinks in the toilet areas, leaving piles of hair for the poor cleaner to clean up. 2.) Men using hair dryers in view of everyone to dry their privates after a shower. 3.) Toilet areas full of water and empty water bottles from members washing their posteriors after defecation. 4.) Broken toilet seats from members squating on toilet seats whilst defecating. 5.) Today was the final straw, which has prompted me to write this review...Faeces on the floor, the person responsible stepped on their own faeces and left a trail all the way to the sinks where they obviously washed their soiled trainers. I dread to think what was left on the gym equipment in the free weights area and the machines. I am perplexed that people can use a keypad with an electric sliding door to get into the gym and still find it difficult to engage in rudimentary personal hygiene. How can you pride yourself in coming to the gym to take care of your fitness and health, use gym equipment and not know how to conduct yourself in a civilised manor. I have been to gyms all over London and have only witnessed this backward behaviour in West London. If any of the culprits read this, take onboard that you are giving yourself and your community a very poor representation of how you conduct yourself in public.

These old school platforms are much better and safer than the naff back machines they have. These are great bits of kit, sadly forgotten in most modern gyms... I used to be a member of Virgin, and they didn't have them either. Good seated delt raise machine, not seen in gyms before. Could do with more than one though. Same goes for pec deck.

I've been a member of this gym for about 7 years now (you wouldn't think it to look at me!) and things have definitely changed. Sadly not all for the better. The childrens pool seems to be out of order a few times a month (not a big deal to me, don't have kiddies but can see it being a deal breaker if you get junior all the way there and they don't have the fun pool to play in!). Changing rooms are kept pretty clean - you need to have a padlock for your locker - and they've tried to keep an area of the changing room child free....though sadly most of the kiddies (and their grown ups!) don't seem to be able to read the sign.... A victim of the refurb was the ladies weights area. I'm not sure why, it was pretty well used. Clearly the spin studio and 'skill zone' areas were far more important to them so now we just have to put up with being amongst the grunty men while we tone our muscles....another downside is that the weights machines do feel somewhat cramped together now as the space has been reallocated for other uses. The upside - there are lots of treadmills (though at peak times - like Monday evenings - you'll be lucky to get straight onto one!), bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines....the spin studio is now enclosed so you don't have to hear the instructor waffling on and on nor have two different types of music trying to seep through your headphones! The skill zone has new and very entertaining trixster bikes (simulates a mountain bike course for those of you afraid of the outdoors like me...) TRX training systems and a skill wall (you know, the lights come on and you have to jump around hitting them off....I dunno the proper name!). There are plenty of tennis courts (book in advance), a large pool with lane swimming, For the popular classes (like spin) you'll need to book in advance and get there early or you'll find all the bikes reserved with towels and water bottles! I haven't tried many of the other classes, the schedule isn't great for someone who can't get there til 7pm of an evening, and having had previous miserable class experiences I am wary of some of the instructors, nonetheless the classes seem popular so I guess it's just me!! Money wise you're going to pay for this upgrade in facilities! Current full membership is around £83 a month although you can sign up for a year and reduce that a little (be aware of when your cancellation date is though otherwise you will automatically get rolled over for another year!).

And their kids facilities are great. Both creche and classes. Current favourite new toy there is the Trixter Xdream videogame cycle - you have a videogame screen in front of you, and you race against computer generated competitors or real people. Resistance decreases and increases according to gradient, terrain and gears. I should be there now, really, racing against the machine - instead of slumped here, writing about all the food I've been eating.

On an Induction tour, I had a quick look at the gym which had the usual modern gym equipment with a few TV screens. Not one of the biggest gyms I've seen, but seemed okay for the number of people using it. The swimming pool, was a bit too small for my liking. Its not a full length pool, and can get quite busy at times. The changing rooms are quite modern, and the sauna and steam rooms are larger than other gyms I've been to. Overall, the changing rooms, are better equipped and designed than most other gyms I've been to. Overall verdict, convenient if you live and work in Ealing, but otherwise I would go for a bigger club, for more space.
