While visiting family for the holidays, we found out that our out of town Golds membership does not work here because they are not considered a corporate location, and we could only use the gym for a 7 day pass. Is there a way to find this out ahead of time? I guess we'll have to find another gym option when we come back in town. I was invited to attend the cycling class at the last minute. The teacher and class went very well. However, it was hard to understand what she was saying over loud music as she had no microphone like other locations. Gym is unkempt, equipment is constantly out of service. For the past month the gym has been uncomfortably hot due to only one side of the A/C system working. The staff has resorted to floor fans around the gym that do very little to have a feasible temperature inside the gym. Angela and Andrea who are in charge of the gym are never available to members. They don't return emails or calls when it comes to concerns. Buyer be aware if any member writes a bad review Angela is quick to revoke your membership as a form of retaliation to the member. Several other ex members have complained about conditions and magically they are no longer members of golds gym. read more

The Golds Gym on Wedgewood is 9 years old, all gyms are nice when new but people start to leave when gym equipment gets old. Gym has not been living up to its standards, the sauna has been broken for a couple months now and that's included in my membership. Employees and Angela the manager have lied about when they would resolve the issue. Older guy in the front gives me weird vibes and never knows how to answer questions asked. read more

Where do I start let's just put it this way fellow gym member developed skin condition as a result of using jacuzzi and swimming pool, can barely breath due to high chlorine content. Maggot infestation on Gym floor particularly the wet areas. This was observed during year membership. Limited facilities, struggle to get bench, single smith machine. Two squat racks, now imagine the busy period. Parking facilities is very limited you might have to wait long time to get a spot, car park used for drugs usage, pot holes everywhere. People overlook this simply because of the price, you get what you pay for I guess. read more

disappointing to see that golds gym on wedge wood still has not been able to fix the sauna. yet they are good at charging me. paying for a service I cannot use. managers and employees have to constantly give excuses has to why sauna is still broken. I'll start with the positive - it wasn't packed, and there weren't any creeps hanging around in there. Just people working out. For the negative - the equipment is old and poorly maintained. The place is filthy. Everything is sticky. The weights are worn down, the machines are wonky. Only two squat racks. When I got tired of waiting for a leg press (just poor timing) I went to the Jacobs ladder. It kept jerking to a stop, and my hands were black because apparently machines don't get cleaned. I complained to the front desk on my way out, and since then I've been driving to the Far East to the new one. read more

Its ok the music is probably the worst non motivational terrible music . Its awful and makes me want to not come back . It motivates me to go do cutsie stuff like go to the mall and shop at Aerie or Holister if it were open . Please make it stop. The rules are stupid and are far more ridiculous than planet fitness. I will say it smells a thousand times better than elpaso fitness. They hide their wifi password in a tiny spot at one location at the front of the gym. The cardio class are loud and disruptive when they leave the door open. You have to ask permission to use the sauna which is stupid and only one person allowed in which is also stupid The gym is clean and new luckily that is the one thing they got going. The gym is nice, what set them above the rest was the kids club. It was nice to take our son while we worked out but unfortunately they decided to close it so they're basically like any other gym now. We didn't mind paying more for a gym like that but we'll be canceling since they're now the same as other gyms that are cheaper. read more

Yes...My Gold's Gym Membership is honored at this location. This Gold's is nothing like the Mecca. So, don't expect a crazy packed gym with a lot of old equipment. This Gold's is new, it's clean, and has pretty much everything you need to get your sweat on. There's enough weights, benches, cardio equipment, classes, a daycare, and even a cardio theater. I'm so glad that this Gold's Gym recently opened in the ELP. When I'm in town, I find myself working out at either EP or Backstreet Gym. They want you wear mask and gloves. Mask I get but latex gloves are STUPID. It prevents people from washing hands and gives a false sense of cleanliness. Yes touch a dirty surface with your gloves. Touch your face etc move on to the next surface with your dirty gloves. Just require hand sanitizer and hand sanitizing stations. These same people are leaving the gym with those same dirty gloves. Visiting for the Holidays I decided to stop in for a workout. The staff greeted me right away and made it easy for me to workout even though I was traveling and this was not my home gym. Very, big, spacious, and clean overall gym. Delicious protein bar with shakes $7-$8. They can substitute Almond or Coconut milk if you are Lactose intolerant . The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is, the turf area to roll out and stretch was too small. With four people in there it was crammed. The sauna takes forever to heat up. It's on a timer so I spent 25 minutes before and after my workout trying to sweat out. Overall, great experience. I'll definitely use this gym every time I visit. read more

Dissatisfied with certain things at this gym. I signed up for a 6 month training program after meeting and connecting with one of the trainers there. She had to leave due to re-locating to another city. The gym still charged me the full $200 for the month of June even though the last day with my trainer was on 6/11/2021. They also charged me a cancellation fee of $30 because I chose to opt out when I had one month left on my training program. That seems pretty ridiculous and unfair especially considering that I opted out due to my trainer leaving. They stated that I could continue with a new trainer but I did not sign up with the new trainer and did not want to continue. I feel they shouldn't have charged me the full $200 for June and much less an additional cancellation fee. They used to have a private area for personal training and now its open to everyone. They used to allow you to enter the sauna as you chose to and now lock it with a key and you have to sign in with a limited capacity of 2 people at a time. On Sunday that I tried entering the sauna at 12:30 after my workout I was denied the key and was told that now it closes 30 minutes before closing time. With every thing that they continue to change and all these charges that they give when things are out of a members control, it seems like all Gold's cares about is $ and not its members. There are plenty of gyms in El Paso. I suggest shopping around before making the commitment to a place like this. read more

Warning** if you travel for work and have a membership elsewhere, this location will only allow you to use their facilities for 14 days. I had the misfortune of being relocated here for the next few months, and after calling my local golds to confirm that my membership would be honored at their brand new El Paso location, I was in for a rude awakening when actually came to work out. Unlike the other Gold's I've been to, this location has none of the amenities. I.e. Swimming pool, basketball court, women's only work out area etc. For being a relatively new location most of the equipment is cracked and there is no space in the weight area. On top of telling me that they would not honor my current member ship, the staff had the audacity to try to sell me a SECOND membership to Gold's Gym. In addition to being the only location in El Paso, this location has none of the aforementioned amenities that would justify a second membership. Needless to I'll be taking my business to Planet Fitness during my time here. read more

This past Sunday I signed up (after spending two days calling gyms and comparing them.) I chose golds gym because I was most interested in taking classes, and they offer so many that work for (almost) any work schedule! The past two days I've done Zumba and body pump. Both classes were awesome, I was dripping sweat but didn't feel like I was dying (lol!) The classes are in rooms so it kinda gives you a little privacy from everyone else. The staff so far have been great. Of course they were extremely friendly while I was signing up... But even the instructors are kind and encouraging! The parking lot gets a little chaotic (at least at night) so be careful. They do offer military discounts. Oh, also the have a sauna! read more

Really liked this gym until we ended up getting screwed when we moved. When we signed up for a 3 months special they were offering we paid everything but the personal training up front. We told them we'd only be there for 3 months until we moved and told them to only charge us for the personal training for 3 months. They didn't do that. We got charged 200 a month for two months after we were gone because they said I didn't cancel it even though we had informed them at the beginning. I didn't even have a membership tied to it that was being charged anymore. Just personal training at a place I was no longer a member. Didn't make sense at all. All emails to them asking for a refund were completely ignored. Wouldn't recommend golds at all. I'm even leaving the golds I'm at now because of this. Ridiculous. read more

Work brings me this way every few months, hitting Golds is a perk of being here. This is my go to gym when I travel from Phoenix. I wish we had one in PHX. Gym is always super cold. Management is super rude and unprofessional! The ONLY water fountains are always broken and they expect you to buy their water if your thirsty from tour workout?! The older manager with grey hair is a jerk. Threatens to cancel your membership if you call them out on anything. I was a member at the gym since it opened and watched the manager care less and less about his clients/customers as the twsrs went on. My membership card wasn't reading correctly assuming because I am from out of the city. The rep at the gym was great. She don't worry about have a great workout. Gold's gym is my second home. I love everything it has to offer, from the most amazing Classes and Instructors to the Staff , Gym equipment, Personal Trainers and Smoothy Bar. The gym itself is pretty nice. They have really great equipment that is always kept clean. I only gave the gym 2 stars because management is just bad. I work out with a group of girls every morning at 5 AM and after our workout we shower before heading to work. We have been showering in cold water for the last 2 momths. Some of us have gotten sick over it. All of us have complained plenty of times to management and nothing gets done. We tried calling the corporate office and they told us they are franchised and not corporate so they can't do anything about it. We are all dissapointed and are seriously thinking of cancelling our memberships! :-( read more

I signed up with golds because they are located in many of the cities I travel to. This is the one question I asked the rep when I signed up is "will I be able to go to other gyms in other cities because I travel a lot for my job?" I was assured I was able to. However at this golds they gave me some BS about I'm only allowed 14 consecutive days a year. Second "this gym doesn't allow gallon of waters" worst golds ever. I do not have these issues at the other golds I attend. I rather purchase a week pass at another gym when I'm in EP. Rated only 1 star cuz I can't give them a zero. read more

I'm a member at an Austin location but was just visiting EP and used this one while on vacation. I was very impressed with the customer service at the front desk and at the cafe, quick and efficient. Aside from the gym being great because all the equipment is new and it's a clean facility, they play awesome dance music, what most gyms miss out on! The music sets the atmosphere. For the most part the gym consists of serious gym-goers which is a definite plus! The cafe is fantastic offers various types of shakes, smoothies and fit food! I travel quite a bit for a living and most people at the front desk don't care about you or it seems like you are a bother. But I was immediately welcomed and could not ask for a better experience. Great gym. Clean and well maintained. Very friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed my workout.

The location is pretty close to just about everyone in El Paso except maybe the west side, which is extremely convenient yet a nuisance since it is filled to the brim. They also only have 1 pair of free weights per weight. Considering how packed it gets I would assume they would get more than just one pair of weights. I won't lie, it is extremely nice compared to gyms but mostly since it's new, I assume in a couple years it will be just as run down as other gyms. Also the price is pretty high compared to gyms that have locations all over El Paso and not just one. read more

This gym is clean, big, spacious, amd friendly, for the most part. Theres this one guy that ruined the perfect 5. I had the trainer here for a year her name is Amanda and she is awesome, I have the best results, and boy did she work me, very worth it. The staff here are very attentive and welcoming except for this guy Kevin, hes rude, has no idea about many things, and despite his lack of knowledge, keeps a "not my problem" attitude. After updating my payment information three times(with the same card), he still hadn't changed it in the system, and when we went the third time I asked why I had to keep coming to,change it. He said "its in the system, do you have money in the account?" I was so pissed, but for the third time, I had him check it, and behold, it went through. He had the zip code wrong. It hapoened again one more time, but the young lady that helped us right away handled the issue, no problems after that.
