Staying in Seattle in the Summer can be pricey but not thru my membership I was able to stay at a Fabulous Hotel((Edgewater) on the waterfront and drive a Chevy Tahoe (and you know full-size SUV aren't cheap). The value of joining is for only a few reasons. Attend the unlimited classes which is really just a handful of subject matters repeated weekly, cruising but only if you plan to reach a high cruising status. The promise to win a gift for attending is only true for the two least value and they are made in China. The grand gifts are not even possible. There is no budget and they will NEVER and have NEVER given anything worth more than $100 (maybe $500) and that is only when they promise a free cruise (up to $500 only). But only after joining and committing to pay the yearly maintenance fee which is surprisingly ridiculously low. The CLIA is useless. The IATA is impossible to get and that is probably the only one worth joining for. They have an IATA number but we are talking about having your own IATA ID. Trust me, that is next to impossible unless you are an employee. Don't believe - period. Period!!! Use of RCI properties is not for you if you like nice places. You need leverage or luck to get one. I don't think you are worth the leverage or are lucky enough to get one. You got sales ended by a truly worthy professional salesperson. They are the best and sharpest. Don't even think your excuse will work on them. You are a nothing and they are the professional. You lose almost every time if you show them $$. Don't let your ego believe you have a chance to outwit this guys. Don't be rude either. Just stay away. read more

I have enjoyed complimentary Disneyland tickets and discounted neighboring hotels; as well as, I saved at least $2,000 on my trip to Maui this past summer with my family!! waste of time. the only prize you will win is the "cruise" which you will have to pay "tax" and fees ~$500 to book and have so many scheduling restrictions making it almost impossible for any normal person to use. Also, we asked for a trial period so we could see how much we will actually save on the travel and how hard it would be to actually book what and when we want before paying the lifetime membership fee of ~$10,000. Big surprise! They refused. It's just a money making scheme for them. I'm sure there are very few people, if any, that will actually make up the $10,000 in savings; otherwise, these "prizes" & "gifts" could not be offered at all. Goldrush Getaways sends you a free cruise in the mail. When I called they said it's definitely free just attend a 90 minute informative seminar on what the company offers. Once we got there a man named Jeff Allen told us it is a MINIMUM of 349.00 each for taxes. No refunds! Hoping you are gullible/stupid they sell you a cruise that you can buy yourself probably cheaper without restrictions. I read in Ripoff Report they ruin your credit if you try to cancel, the cabins are impossible or very hard to book and the rooms are the inside lower deck...worst cabins. Yikes...We ran outta there. Total Ripoff, Scam whatever you want to call it!!!! Do yourself a favor and throw that invite in the trash. read more

Very bad costermer service at the front desk I had an appointment for 6 PM and when we arived we were a couple of min. late and we were turnwed away along with about 3 or 4 other couples that we noticed being turned away also they said the appointent stared on time and if you didn't make it they could rescedual for a differnt day. We traveld 45 min in traffic to get their but couldn;t make it at 6pm this is not the way you treat custermers that are interested in what they have to offer I will never recomend this companie to anyone if this is the way they treat people. read more

My wife and I recently went to a presentation in Campbell from Gold Rush getaways. The presentation was 90 minutes as they said and we ended up considering joining as a member. Tim the manager was very thorough in his explanation of the program. He didnt try to hard sell us at all. We ended up signing up. Upon reflection we decided the program didnt fit our travel needs based on how we travel. So today - 2 days later we went to cancel our membership. Melanie greeted us - and we told her we had changed our mind. She was very pleasant and without hesitation said she would cancel the contract (since it was within the 3 days in the terms)and refund our money. She even offered to extend that period so we could attend the intro. While this program didnt fit our current travel style - I do believe that the program is very much on the up and up. The employees believe in the product and the vast majority of members are happy with their involvment. We were fully refunded our membership payment and they offered to still service our travel needs as a full service travel agency. I have seen some complaints on Yelp and just wanted to share our experience. If you travel a lot - particularly if you like to cruise - I think Gold Rush could be a valuble resource of both discounts and training. My wife and I signed up to be agents and had second thoughts about the actual savings that would be realized. I called the member services representative, Melonie, and she did the best she could on the phone to reassure us that there is real savings available if we follow the program. She recommended that we visit her in the office so she could more thoroughly demonstrate the travel savings in cruises and condo rentals which we were most interested. We were treated with respect and courtesy and came away confident that our travel investment would be worth it. The one area that would help new agents is to take both the introductory class and the commission and benefits classes before judging if the program will actually save money. I am very happy with Goldrush Getaways. I love to travel and like to help others travel so I decided to become a Home Based Travel Agent with Goldrush Getaways. They offer training and access to many travel vendors such as cruise lines, hotels, vacation packagers, etc. They do not give members "A Card" but they do offer access to training that leads to getting an ID card from Cruise Lines International Association which is a travel agent's credential. I attended a travel agent's convention Las Vegas and learned a great deal about the industry and opportunities for my clients. We have been a member for over 6 years out of the Citrus Heights office. I wish we had joined sooner. We are retired and have been on over 20 DISCOUNTED cruises, even some free ones. Having been with Goldrush Getaways for years it disturbs me to see comments from new members that have not used the program as I have. They have been a terrific host agency and are recognized by all the governing bodys such as CLIA, IATA as a host agency. Goldrush Getaways provides non credited training and seminairs by companies such as Carnival, Royal Carribean, Globus, Disney Vacations, ect., ect. Like anything worth wild you have to put some time into it and it pays for itself. With the program you get direct access to consolidators. While the program is designed to benefit mostly agents, family and friends you can book for other people. The commission stucture they give you back for booking other people is 60% and on your own personal travel 70% to 100%, this alone is enough for most peole to recover their membership cost. Being under the umbrella of the agencies also gives direct access to training and certificates from travel providers that give you additional benefits when you spend time knowing their product and/or service. On the other side of our membership is access to over 3000 resorts condos that you get a wholesale rate that it typically less than people pay for timeshare maintenance with no obligation, we get a wholesale rate if we use it and nothing if we don't.
