Fav place! I wish I could deliver more stars. It's a family run business. A vietnamese wife and a german husband. One would think that having an international menu, the cooks would mess up somewhere (german, italian, and vietnamese food) but low and behold, this place is the exception. I tried their Duck, Chicken dishes, schnitzel, spaghetti carbonera, fried rice, pho, and their various dishes of curry and it was all magnificent. Hands down this is thee best restaurant in this area of Bayern. The only thing I did not like are their small spring rolls so go big and do the two Vietnamese spring rolls because those are absolute heaven. Each trip to Bavaria we make sure to stop at the Goldenes Kreuz. The food is authentic and delicious. Can't speak to much because I always get the Chili Duck, but from what I've seen and had, you can't find a better Vietnamese meal in the area. This was a tasty place! Our family of 4 went on a Saturday night. It wasn't too busy or crowded. Waitress was friendly and spoke enough English that we could communicate easily. I had the Awesome Pumpkin soup that was a daily special. It really was good! I had never had pumpkin soup before but this was a good introduction to it! Husband had cordon blue schnitzel and he said out of the few he has had since we got here this one was the best! Daughter one had chicken schnitzel. She said it was so good! Daughter 2 had kids schnitzel off of the kids menu. She ate it up! I had duck with fried rice. It was good. The rice was a bit over fried but the duck was still moist and tasted like duck! Cash only! Had one the special hot dishes with Duck, Chicken and Shrimp menu #650 and I can honestly say that it was one of the best food I ever had. Service was fast, and the beer that I got recommend was the most tasteful and delicious beer I have ever tried not exaggerating the make is Emmer Beir I think. This is hands down the best spot in parsberg for duck. I had the chili duck and my friend had the duck in peanut sauce, both absolutely phenomenal! The chili duck was just the right amount of spicy and the peanut duck was amazingly creamy. I'm counting down the days to return for my own serving of the peanut duck. The duck dishes come with a bowl of sticky rice for the table to share. And the duck is crispy and not game-y at all! I really almost cried at how delicious the meal was. The portion is big enough, I had to bring some home (and I'm definitely not complaining about that!) We also had the spring rolls which were perfectly fried. They are light and crispy on the outside and so flavorful on the inside, the sweet and sour and spicy sauce is just mouth watering. The wait time was pretty long, we came today, Sunday about 1230 and we're seated about 1245, we ordered our drinks, took awhile to get. Then ordered our meals and finally got them about 1345. This was a really good dinner! I had the spargel soup and a large salad, which was fantastic! Husband had the lemongrass chicken and he was absolutely pleased with it. Will have to go back to check out some of the other recommendations but if you're looking for a good tasty dinner, definitely check it out. One of our favorite spots for just us or huge crowds! They have three types of food to choose from Italian, German or Vietnamese!! The owner is very friendly and personable! We have never eaten something here we didn't love! They also have a vast variety of beers and appetizers!! This place has a little bit of everything, Vietnamese, German, and pizza! I think their Vietnamese food is better than the German, but just personal opinion. Best place in Parsberg. One of my favorites in the local area. Elmar and his wife are great hosts and awesome cooks. Amazing that they can do so many dishes so well. Great chef and owner and they pair Vietnamese and German quite well. Egg rolls were better than any I've had in America. Light and crispy outside. Had the crispy duck in peanut sauce and the wife and kids had sweet and sour chicken with an amazing orange sauce. They also had a plate of chicken fried rice which was plenty to share. Wanted to have the "Awesome pumpkin soup" which I had heard rants and raves about, however they were out. Odd for a Wednesday night. They did have a amazing asparagus soup that we all shared. Nice and creamy. Nice location and priced well. Liked the German decor and the chef and his wife live at the location. Obvious they take pride in there home, their restaurant, and their customers. Thai, German, Italian, something for everyone. The sweet and sour soup was fantastic, but be ready for garlic! Quant little place, the wooden menus were unique. Note for American friends, they do have menu's in English, and the lady spoke good enough English that it was easy to order and communicate. My family and I lived in Germany for 2 years and this was one of our favorite spots EVER! Its so unique to find a restaurant that makes German, Italian, and Vietnamese, AND does it well! This is because of the owners who are German and Vietnamese and boy do they know how to cook. This is the BEST place to get duck. I have never had it better anywhere else, and coming from a girl who lived in Asia for also 2 years, the rice, sauces, and everything else were right on point. I've tried almost everything on their menu, from seasonal (like their amazing pumpkin soup) to everyday items, and I have yet to find something I didn't like. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check this restaurant out if you're ever in Parsberg, it is SPECTACULAR! Oh and if you live there they DO have take out. However if you're there visiting you definitely have to take a stroll around Parsberg, one of the cutest towns in Bavaria. You'll love its true and simple German ambiance. read more
