Definitely one of the better (if not the best) authentic German food establishments in the Hameln…read morearea. Prices are reasonable, beer is cold, food is extremely tasty and plentiful. Their pork recipes (think "Sauerbraten" - pork loin, fillets "schnitzel" and/or chops smothered in various sauces with fries (chips) "frites"/baked/mashed potatoes are perfectly made as if you'd hired somebody's German granny to cook you up a feast. If you don't like pork, they offer many other authentic meat dishes as well (e.g., steak, chicken, etc.). Seems to attract a wide variety of patrons - all friendly, mostly locals or overnight visitors.
If you find yourself in the "Pied Piper" town of Hameln, take the 20 minute stroll across the bridge to give this place a try. It's well worth it.
Hint: Out of curiosity, I ordered two entrees, ate both and could barely walk home. DO NOT order more than one main course unless you want to be rolled home afterwards. The portions are ginormous.
