Still a great spot for cuts and good service. Our boys have been coming here for a while now and we're happy with them. They are pretty much always busy, but do give the option to make online appts 15 min in advance. It works well. We like Ricky and Esteban, both of whom cut our boys' hair. Esteban is especially great with little ones. Super nice and very patient. With that being said everyone else is good too. If you can't wait for your specific barber, you're still in pretty good hands with the other ones. Vince is good too. 5 star service all the way! From the receptionist to the barber I couldn't be happier . Yesterday I made a last minute appointment for my son to have his hair cut and styled. The receptionist immediately offered to check him in since I was already in my way in order to expedite the process and make my son and I more comfortable. The only good thing about it is that I have more than enough hair to still go somewhere else to get it done. 1/2/15 Update: This is still my hands down favorite barbershop. Every 2-3 weeks I go get my haircut, but because it's literally on the opposite side of Kendall to me I try to find a closer shop. The problem is every time I've tried a different barbershop the experience was less than satisfactory. Either the haircut sucked or I just didn't like the vibe of the shop. So every two weeks I suck it up and take the drive against traffic to Golden Touch. I arrived at around 6:30 p.m. when the desk guy informed me that the shop was closing in about 30 minutes time at 7 p.m. He also mentioned that he locks the doors at 6:50 p.m. and that if I left, I would have to be back by that time or else return another day. I put my name in the system, left to drop my bags off at the library and returned at exactly 6:51 p.m. The barber who I requested was still cutting another patron's hair. In other words, I came back prepared to wait my turn again. As would be the case, the glass door was locked, but I stared at the desk clerk to signal for him to open the door, considering we had spoken less than 30 minutes prior- and again, my barber was STILL CUTTING HAIR. The desk kid tried to avoid eye contact as if I wasn't there, but another barber eventually got him to come to the door. About two awkward minutes go by and the kid finally gets to the door. Now, I understand that 6:50 was the cutoff time (not official closing time) and that a company can set whatever rules they need in order to function properly, but a barbershop isn't a courtroom. I don't think me coming nine minutes before closing versus ten minutes would destroy the business and make the whole building fall apart. So after a two to three minute exchange of words about rules and time and other nonsense, I eventually left. The time on my phone read 6:56 p.m.- FOUR MINUTES before closing. Keep in mind, that during our dialogue the kid actually went to my barber to ask him how he'd like to deal with the situation- the same barber who acknowledged me 30 minutes prior, and who knew that I was coming to see him- even THAT guy said for me to come back tomorrow, all again while awkwardly avoiding eye contact!!! I'd actually be fine with coming back another day, and accept that I'm in the wrong for being ONE F***king minute late, but that right there kinda stung. A barber to customer relationship is sacred and this dude violated that, BIIIIIIG time. At least he could've looked me in the eye to tell me he's in a rush or had somewhere to go, or even "my bad, bro I can't because of whatever reason..." The point is he treated me as if we hadn't done business before, or like I was handing out Watchtower pamphlets. And I'm not some idiot who thinks he's always right no matter what- I know what people in the service industry go through. But that's the reason people leave TIPS!!! Knowing I would've kept him after closing would automatically translate to a good tip on my behalf. But this dude doesn't get it. Neither does the dumb kid at the desk. Basically the guy screwed himself out of a good tip, a years worth of haircuts, and potential referrals, all because of some one minute stupid rule. Definitely did not have to go down that way. Great barbershop! Average prices, excellent service. After months of jumping from barbershop to barbershop I finally found the one. Most barber shops that I have previously been to never really cut my hair the way I wanted to. The big difference that I experienced here at Golden Touch is that the employees are very cooperative and attentive to make sure you get the cut you want. Often times I would find myself not really knowing how I wanted to cut my hair but the barbers were able to offer suggestions and ideas as opposed to other barbers that would just shrug their shoulders and expect you to know everything. I understand that they probably don't want to be held liable if they give you a bad cut that you didn't want but I appreciate that the barbers at golden touch are willing to give their opinion and what they think would look best! Average haircut price is $15 which is comparable to almost anywhere. Depending on the time of day you might find yourself waiting for a hour or two to get your haircut, so plan accordingly or call ahead. They also offer electric shaves or hot towel shaves, just be sure to specify which one you want. The barber that I personally prefer is Bryan, he always does an amazing job with my haircuts! Been coming here since it opened, thought I should finally leave a review. Great atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming staff. I've tried a few different barbers from here and they all cut quality. I've never had an issue even when trying something new or going with a suggestion from the barbers. I've never had a shave because I don't have a beard, but I've come with a friend who does it often and he really enjoys it. Highly recommend this place, can't say I have a single complaint. This place has amazing service and great barbers. A very homey feel with a good vibe, exactly what you look for in a barber shop. Oliver is a genius with everyone's hair. I recommend it to all my friends and even have people come from Coral Gables to come down to the Kendall location. Has a pretty good wait time, it's usually packed in the afternoon. I recommend going in the morning. Saturday's are always good, right before college football. An appointment will obviously make the visit much more enjoyable. My boyfriend came in for a cut and he was asked who he wanted to go with and he chose to go with Vince/vincent. Vince tells him to give him two min...15 min later of shooting the sh*t with his coworker, and my bf decides to find out if he's on break or something so he could go with someone else if anything. A couple of minutes later I guess Vince finally noticed he was being waited on so he calls him to the chair. My bf asked him for a fade to a 1 and this guy just used a 1 all around his hair and left him with no shape on the top and no way of styling. it's honestly so disrespectful! Seeing that this place got good reviews, I decided to try them out. I had about 3 people ahead of me but surprisingly enough I was serviced 15 minutes later. For me, that gave me a good impression. Then came the cut. I went with Oliver since I heard he was good with fades. He was friendly and down-to-earth with me; not your typical crazy, loud-mouth person like most young barbers are. As for his cuts, definitely met my expectations. It was actually great! It's been a long time since I actually enjoyed the look of my cut (again, I'm VERY picky)! The other thing that I actually liked about the place was that there's a no-cursing policy (again, professional). That appeals to me mostly cause I have a son who will be needing a cut soon. I love places which are the cure for the common chain business. If Supercuts has ever butchered your hair, then you know what I mean. Golden Touch is the type of place that you can tell is nurtured like a small business should be. Being a guy and finding a high level haircut can be a hard thing to find. This place balances testosterone and quality in a good way. The guys there are good people, and there are flat screens in place with sports on to make sure the wait doesn't feel like a wait. Even going at 3PM on a weekday, there were a good amount of people in here. I was able to get a cut right away, but I'm guessing during other times it will get busy. My guy Alex took care of me to the point my wife wanted to jump on me as soon as I got back home. That's my sign for the A+ haircut. The owner of the shop has cut my hair for a very long time but as he got busier with this new shop I had to let other barbers at GT cut my hair. All I can say is everyone has great skills cutting hair here because I never left with a bad cut. He listened to my feedback and working hard to make his operation as good as it can be. He is a tremendous asset to their operation. He then followed up again and got me set up with my barber of choice WES that stayed late tonight to get my hair cut. Always takes his time to make sure my haircut is PERFECT. I first tried this place and fell in love with it. After they lost Joel and David. It's gone bad... I went in today for a haircut and the guy didn't even bother wetting my hair. I have very very curly hair and it looks just frizzy now. It's a mess. He just combed my hair back and did some weird scissor magic and without asking me almost went in with a razor to make an indentation on my hair... BYE LOL. The haircut lasted about 10 minutes. It would've been shorter but the guy was using his cellphone. He just used the clippers on most of my head and I asked for scissors. It just doesn't work. It makes no sense. This has been my barber shop for a few years now, it used to be my favorite, but it seems like it's getting a little bit away from the things that made them great before. Most Barbers are really good, but lately, my last few times I was not very impressed, particularly with a barber starting with V, the last two times he seemed distracted by his phone and the tv, he seemed rushed, and thus I felt like the normal amount of care given to me was not there. He only put aftershave on half my face even after I reminded him for it, I remember that we used to get hot lather and shaving at this place was really nice. I'm guessing because he didn't want to shave my beard he kind of steered me away from it, and whenever he edges with the blade he doesn't use any kind of oil or shaving cream so it hurts like hell. I don't want to get anybody in trouble, I just like this barbershop because they did a couple extra things that were really great every time like the hot lather and aftershave. The reviews for this place are 2 years old.. The latest one is about a month ago by a guy who I believe works there. If what you're looking for is the same haircut that every wannabe gangster in Kendall has then you'll be right at home here. If you're looking to get a GOOD haircut with a style that doesn't necessarily fit the template of a fade or "tape" then you're better off finding a different place. All in all the guy that cut my hair was receptive to my requests but ultimately I received exactly what I wanted to avoid. Not a "golden touch". My haircut was substandard. Asked for a shave thinking it would be a hot towel shave..wrong. I get the poorly done electric shaver. They advertise haircut and shave with hot towel and razor. I guess they don't have true barbers on Sundays. Also he uses a air hose to blow off the hair and blows my hair and says you're done.
