Our wedding was August 1, 2026, and we booked Golden Thread Cinematography because their pricing was among the most reasonable we found and fit our budget. Leading up to the wedding, Matthew was reassuring and shared updated client galleries, which gave us confidence in the quality of the work.
My biggest concern was communication. I didn't always feel there was enough communication about what the team would need from us or how we could ensure everyone was on the same page. Because I am very organized, I continued sending updated versions of our day-of timeline, along with pictures and details of where we wanted to take our portraits.
On our wedding day, I was introduced to two gentlemen who were professional and pleasant. However, I was surprised and disappointed because I had been communicating with Matthew throughout the planning process and had no idea he would not be there. I was never informed that two other individuals would be covering our wedding. I completely understand that staffing changes happen, but I would have appreciated the opportunity to speak with the actual photographers beforehand, review our timeline, and discuss our vision.
To their credit, the two gentlemen did a good job capturing many important moments. They were professional, reassuring, and positive throughout the day.
Unfortunately, one situation particularly disappointed me. At the end of the ceremony, when it was time for our large group photo, the photographer had us wait while he went to the top of the castle to take the picture. According to the timeline I provided, we were supposed to take the group photo on the lawn directly behind us, which was also where our family photos were planned. This delayed our timeline and resulted in photos being taken in a location I had specifically hoped to avoid. I was disappointed, but I chose to put on a happy face and continue enjoying my wedding day.
Update: I recently had the opportunity to speak with Matthew about my concerns. I truly appreciated that he was receptive, listened to my experience, and acknowledged where he and his team fell short. He was also willing to work toward a resolution and shared that he plans to implement changes to help improve communication between clients and staff.
We appreciate the resolution we reached and are grateful that Matthew took the time to hear our concerns and address them. While our experience had some disappointments, I appreciate his willingness to listen, take accountability, and make improvements moving forward.
Thank you, Matthew, for taking the time to make things right. We would recommend this company to future clients! read more
