I've since done the same thing to many people and all are in agreement that this is some of the best fish and chips in the city. They have a very big menu and one of my personal favourites is the fish cake in a bun with salad and mayo. Chip portion size seems to depend very much on who serves you but generally speaking they're quite generous. They also offer good deals on smaller meals for children. There is often quite a wait to be served but they really do work as fast as they can and the wait just shows how popular it is. There are a couple of parking spaces outside but it's rare that one is available; it's not a problem though as there's always parking available somewhere along the road. Don't be put off by the gang of kids that hang around the shop, they don't exactly make the place look inviting but they're harmless enough.

Close to the M27 and Southampton University, in a good location on a run through road. Plnety of…read moreaccess and parking and not usually too busy as McDonalds in down the road and more visible. The drive through is useful. Also this Burger King isn't open too late in the evening whereas McDonalds keeps advertising late night opening hours. Fairly good when seated inside as well, food is pretty standard but have never had any problems with it, and the toilets are always clean.

EDIT: CLOSED This…read moreplace used to be called iFish and closed before I moved to the area, very happy to see something open back up here. Only been in once so far but seems a solid basic fish and chips place. Chips are really good and still nice an hour later cold (I ocouldn't come close to finishing the small portion). The cod was good, a bit greasy but no more so than expected. Only complaint is that the hours are not posted yet, would be nice to know if it's going to be an option when coming home late on the train for example.

This branch seems pretty organised, i've never been here and had to wait long to get served even on a saturday when it's really busy! On the other hand, getting a table to eat what you've just bought is another thing altogether! Very busy up here at weekends, i'd almost say dont bother, but i know there's not a great deal more on offer on the high street either!
