Breakfast Poutine. Hash browns, cheese curds, poached eggs, bacon (or ham or sausage) and hollandaise.

Delicious food and great service! The place was bumping on a Sunday morning in early October (probably one of the only shows in town at this point!) and even though they appeared to be short on wait staff, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was amazing! Can't wait to go back to try more of the selection!

Great and friendly service. Definitely felt like a saloon with the decor. The food was highly recommended by local. The bison burger was perfectly cooked and the haskap beet sauce complimented it very well.

This one had an interesting experience. We came here for breakfast and ordered eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. It was one hell of a long wait. Only after we told the waitress that we actually had a plane to catch and had to leave soon as we gave ourselves plenty of time for breakfast but didn't expect 45 mins to wait (and all other tables were waiting as well, so I was wondering who were in the kitchen and what were they so busy with), we got our food, but guess what - a cook forgot to put eggs into our EGGS Benedict. Ha Ha!!! So another little wait to get that sorted. The food was nice, the sauce was so so though. The only reason I gave this place 3 starts is because our waitress was extremely nice and we didn't have to pay for our food after this accident.

This place was packed on a Tuesday night! Seemed like there were a bunch of locals as well as some visitors staying over at the Gold Rush Inn next door eating dinner, drinking beers, and watching hockey on the many TVs on the walls. Lively and friendly atmosphere. The menu has the usual stuff you'll find at a pub, but they also had a couple of bison dishes which intrigued me: they had a bbq bison burger, bison shepherd's pie, and bison jambalaya. I'm a fan of shepherds pie, so I had to try that and it was tasty! I mean, I couldn't really tell that it was bison meat at the bottom because of the seasoning/sauce, but it was good. My friend got the bbq bison burger with the bbq sauce on the side (also came with fries), and that was good too. We also got some local brews to accompany our meals. They have a couple of beers from Yukon Brewing Company on tap and some more of their beers in bottles. We tried the Bonanza Brown and the Deadman Creek Cranberry Wheat which were on tap, and then bottles of the Midnight Sun Espresso Stout and the Chilkoot Lager. We didn't have time to make it to the brewery on our trip, so we sort of did our own tasting here in the saloon! Overall this is a great place in Whitehorse to grab a bite to eat or a beer to drink while watching your favorite hockey to teams play (there are screens on every wall!) and escape the cold for a while. Our server was attentive and the food was good! The food is a tad pricey for pub food (the shepherds pie was $20) but understandable when you consider that in Whitehorse they have to truck everything in.

We asked some locals for a good place to get some food and local beer on tap, this is where they directed us, and they delivered! The service was great, maybe it was typical food for Canadians but we thought the food was fantastic!!! The chicken sandwich was a recommendation from the waitress and man it blew my mind! Sooooo good! Also FREE wifi! They did have some beer but we were hoping for more variety in the beer selection.

Seafood appetizer minus prawns. The grill needs to be cleaned because my "toast" was black in places indicating an unclean grill

Highly recommended the bison burger. Pizza was ok, pretty average hotel food. House salad was ok. Good service.

Great bar menu. Little tight in space but calls for a good time. Good amount of Tv's to watch whatever game you want.

Had a few beers and listened to a blues band that was pretty good. Had a good time, didn't try any of the food, service was great.

We were on our own for dinner on this particular Sunday night. We walked around downtown, taking in the sights while deciding where to eat dinner. Some acquaintances from our tour recommended this restaurant, and especially their margaritas. So, we started with some margaritas which, as recommended, were tasty. I got a Devil's Margarita (3.5 oz, CAD$13.00), while my husband chose a classic peach margarita (2.5 oz, CAD$12.50). Both margaritas featured Cazadores Blanco, triple sec, fresh lime juice, agave, and Tajin rim. Mine was topped with Cabernet-Sauvignon. For dinner, we chose to share Nachos (CAD$21), plus CAD$5 for an added protein (chicken). The nachos, which were on the Snack & Share Plates menu, consisted of Cold Snap corn tortilla chips, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, green peppers, black beans, onions, and tajin spice. They were served with sour cream and one's choice of salsa. There were seven choices of gluten free and made fresh salsas, ranging on the heat scale from pico de gallo (heat=1) to arbol chili hot sauce (heat= 9.5). We went with the pico de gallo in order to get the fresh tomatoes. While sufficiently large enough for us to share as our dinner, we were a bit disappointed with the Nachos. The main issue was that all of the toppings, except maybe the cheeses, were very scant. Overall, we had a good experience, and recommend La Cara. Our ratings for our experience are as follows. Margarita: 4/5. Nachos: 3/5. Service: 5/5. Our server, Shanshan J, was amazing -- very attentive and friendly. Ambiance: 3.5/5. The restaurant is casual and popular. Most of the tables were full during our visit.

Since the location isn't downtown, probably a more local crew. Service was super prompt. Drinks came out almost instantly. I had one that was basically a moscow mule and my friend had one with spiced rum. There were lots of features and things I'm not used to seeing like hot drinks (I am from NorCal after all). Waitress was very patient since I basically wanted to go through every page. There's a little leather-y book on the table with pages and pages of drink yummies. There's also a list of drink specials on each table. You also get menus for dinner and another page of dinner specials. The menu was more diverse than I thought. Lots of appetizer options and wraps/sandwiches/burgers/entrees (like surf and turf). We settled on the ridge burger subbing in their house salad for fries (I know how could I do this, but I'm a sucker for beets). Also, grabbed the california wrap...so much yum (chicken/bacon/avocado/just lots of the goodness in this one) with fries. Food came out super fast and my journey to a food coma began. Portions were generous. Highlight was the california wrap that was on their features menu. Burger was good too. I enjoyed my salad...*cough* with some fries. While I munched on my dinner, I noticed the music rotation was very top 40. (Bruno Mars, Bastille, etc etc). The music wasn't overly loud either. Just enough for me to want to hum along. Bathroom was clean (always a plus for me) and the door made me chuckle. An image of briefs are on it ha. I'm not in town for too long, but I would happily come back here to try more of their food/drinks.
