We bought the chocolate stated 1/2 kg - actually 400g and sea fruit pralines in a 250g box. The chocolate is really good but unfortunately we didn't notice until a week after we got home that the pralines was out of date by one day, meaning when we bought them they were "BEST BEFORE" only one more week. So do check the date before purchasing!

I didn't research much about it and it was a Sunday morning and we were gonna head out to another destination and many of the chocolate shops I found in Yelp were closed on Sundays. Leonidas looks to be a chain store but was open and I was limited on opportunities so off I went. I decided to buy an assortment box and several bars of chocolates. The friendly worker gave us a sample of a ginger covered chocolate and it was very different but good. I spent about €50 on chocolates. I did try one of the milk chocolate bars and it seemed like a normal tasting chocolate bar to me. Maybe I was expecting more since it is Belgian chocolate but I will have to try some others for better feedback and could re-review this place. The two ladies working were very friendly and spoke English. There were some Easter chocolate items like bunnies and eggs for the upcoming holiday. The bags they give were excellent quality to give as gifts. There appears to have several locations but this particular store was located down the street from the Antwerp Central station where there are a lot of shopping, cafes, restaurants, bars and jewelry stores in the area.

They have pralines, truffles, chocolate bars; all of them are perfect for gift giving. I like how in our visit, there's some familiar like milk almonds to the exotic: spicy options that I really enjoy! So you can get a box of 20 pralines, or 8 truffles, or mix and match for the perfect gift. It is premium but it's worth it. Since there's so many flavors to choose from, you could go with the prepackaged option where they give you a variety box, but personally I'd buy a bag for 6 euros just to try a bunch of flavors while the shopkeeper explains the flavors to you. Even though it's winter and plenty of people came in and out of the shop, I never felt rushed picking the chocolates that I wanted for my custom box, and it's so worth it. My favorite would have to be the exotic chocolate praline with cayenne with a very enjoyable kick. All their chocolates are good, and this is not a chain. I highly recommend it for anyone in Antwerp looking for some premium chocolate.

There are a number of reasons I like Neuhaus the best: - Of course, the chocolates are delicious. - A lot of the stores will allow you to sample any one that you choose (though this particular location didn't allow me to sample anything), so I was able to find ones that I really liked. - There was a large variety of pre-packaged chocolates, and I was able to find something in every price range (as gifts). - There are a number of different box sizes to choose from to make your own custom box of chocolates. - Friendly, multi-lingual customer service in all locations. I found out that there is one store in the US in New York, but my mother-in-law informed me that the chocolates there aren't as fresh as the ones I hand selected from Belgium. :)

We came in and was greeted by this nice gentleman who gave us each a piece of chocolate. The piece was scrumptious and very well flavored. They mix random flavors and the results were truly amazing and different from other chocolate places. The thing is, this chocolate place is fancy! So prepare to spend about $1 USD per piece. I bought a box of 22 pieces for $24 and another box of 5 pieces for $6 something. It was worth it to me in my opinion. If I ever come back here again, this would be my go to chocolate shop because out of all the places I tried, this was top notch!
