My own experience: I called with some questions about supplies I needed for a party and the man who answered the phone was super abrupt with me and said he was too busy to answer my questions and then hung up. Just as a backstory, my husband and I live in San Diego and got married in Charleston. I work 40…read morehours a week and am on-call an additional 40 some weeks. My demanding work schedule made calling vendors hard, and then when you add the time difference from east to west coast-- impossible. After some google searching, I found Sweet Peach Planning. I think their familiarity of working on both the east and west coast made me confident they'll be able to work with my schedule, and it did. We decided on a modified full planning package offered by Sweet Peach Planning and it exceeded every expectation of mine. Megan had great organizational skills. She brought many different contracts and other paperwork to our zoom meetings that were relevant to each topic of discussion. This made me feel present in the planning process even from 2,500 miles away and being unable to see things in person. Everything was thoroughly explained so I was informed of all the small but important details of my wedding day. Megan knows Charleston well, so she was able to find the most perfect vendors for our wedding theme/vision including rentals, a florist, hair & make up, and a cake. She printed out our signage and also made different personal touches, like a hand written mirror and our cake topper. Megan is friendly and easy to talk to. I always felt comfortable expressing my opinion to her even if it was something I wanted to change or didn't like. She was a very calming presence and I never once felt overwhelmed with the wedding planning process. She made sure we stayed on track with my timeline the entire day, which was super helpful since it felt like time was moving so fast that day. During my wedding ceremony and reception, the team made sure everything ran so smoothly. Madison was a great help all day/night. She was able to generously run to the pharmacy for me and also kept my phone and personal belongings safe. She took some candid photos on my phone so I had immediate memories of the night, which are some of my favorite pictures to this day. Megan was the absolute essential ingredient to making this wedding happen and be the most beautiful day we could have imagined. First and foremost - we knew we loved Megan right away from how honest she was with us. When we booked her, we wanted to hand everything off to her as a planner. She explained we were so far along in the process and had booked so many of the main vendors that she wouldn't want us to waste our money - but she'd recommend her coordination services instead. Megan went above and beyond everything I expected to have in a coordinator. She helped us with decisions, brought up questions for us to ask or suggestions to tell vendors about things we would have never thought about. She was available whenever we needed and even joined us for a few vendor meetings to ensure everything went smoothly. She even offered many of her own decor items (table numbers, windows, and candles). It is very obvious that Megan has tons of experience. Our photographer and venue both commented about how great working with Megan was and how she is so organized and experienced - so it isn't only on the client side, but the vendors she works with that also see how amazing she is. Very last minute we decided to book a videographer. We sent his website to Megan, who raised some concerns about something feeling off about the website and she explained it felt like a scam. Like dummies, we booked them anyways... only to get scammed because this videographer wasn't real. It all turned out okay (we got our money back, etc) and Megan handled it all beautifully. But, at the end of it - we wished we would have just listened to Megan's gut! She really knows her stuff and has a great ability to spot a good vendor vs. a fake one :) The day of - Megan was a rockstar. She directed family members, vendors, the bridal party, and anyone that had questions - all with a smile on her face. She was such a calming presence and we were so relaxed knowing Megan had it under control. Our son was getting married in Charleston and I was trying (from central Texas mind you) to put together the necessary vendors for the team. I checked out the three suggested shops, and after looking through their galleries, called SYG. First, let me explain. I'm old. I make phone calls and still write checks. When a business actually provides a phone number and then ANSWERS it, it just makes my little heart sing! That's when I met Allison, who consistently went above and beyond to help me get exactly what was needed in the space, and her guidance was not only spot on, but very very appreciated. In any event, I described what was needed, and we discussed my vision of the event as well as that all important budget. I gave Sara, the designer, control over the flower selection, wanting her to be able to choose the freshest things and keep it seasonal. To say that I was happy would be the understatement of the century. The bride and groom were absolutely overwhelmed at the "reveal", and guests are still talking about it. Of all the vendors I worked with, Allison was hands down the best! She ALWAYS answered her phone, and if she didn't have the answer, told me when I could expect it. They were incredibly understanding when after the initial estimate came in that I had to make a few changes and we got more than I could have ever hoped for for the budget that I had in mind. If I ever need floral design in the area again, there is absolutely no question that SYG will be my supplier. Having been in the event planning business for a few years and working for a company that didn't…read moresettle for less than perfection, you could imagine my standards were pretty high when it came to choosing vendors for our wedding. I'm the type of person who needs to have total control of everything - I have a tough time delegating even the smallest of tasks to others as I've always lived by the mantra, "if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself." Well, working with Hannah at Propagate Studio for the past year and a half has given me an entirely new perspective on trust and respect for those who are wildly skilled in their craft - and Hannah's skillset can only be rivaled by her immense passion for her trade. Propagate Studio was one of the first vendors I reached out to as soon as that ring was slipped on my finger. I knew this would be Hannah's first wedding on her own as a small business owner, but I had long been admiring her work with other companies and truly felt she had the magic touch we were looking for to transform AND complement our summer camp venue - a tall order. Oh, and did I mention Hannah agreed to do our florals for THREE different events in one weekend (Welcome BBQ, Wedding, Brunch)?? An even taller order! There is so much more that I could say about Hannah's artistry but my words would not do her the justice she deserves. I believe our photographer (Kaihla Tonai) said it best when she recounted the scene as "an entire camp drenched in unreal florals" and described Hannah's work as "insane." I'm so grateful for Hannah's involvement in our wedding weekend, for simultaneously allowing me to be totally hands on when I wanted and handling things completely on her own when necessary. Her work ethic is unmatched which irrefutably came to light while watching her pull everything together the day of the wedding. I'll end with this - we poured our heart and souls into planning this wedding weekend for all of the people we care about who came to celebrate our love - and perhaps no one stressed about how it would all come together more than my mother. One of her absolute favorite parts of the weekend was walking me down the aisle, turning the bend and seeing Hannah's chuppah for the first time - the goosebumps and feeling of assuredness that ensued from there on out are a direct correlation to how Hannah's creations will make you feel. From our first call, Mell made me feel so comfortable and welcomed, answering all of my questions to help me really understand what I was getting into for the shoot. On the day of the shoot, I arrived and was pampered with hair and makeup, feeling like an absolute princess. Mell even got a playlist going (shout out to Sabrina Carpenter) while I sipped on some champagne to shake off the nerves. The entire experience was amazing! Mell and I laughed, talked, and really got to know one another as we went through the shoot. I felt so confident and beautiful in my body, and Mell's styling choices truly brought the shoot to life with a perfect storyline. The results of the shoot were absolutely INCREDIBLE.
