One week later i received a bill for the repair on the wheel. Letting us to drive at high speed with a punctured tire and no spare is a very dangerous thing to do , on top of that charging us for the repair afterwards is outrageous!

We walked through an inspection of the car before and after the rental with an employee. Scratches were noted on a rental agreement before our rental and upon the return, the employee said it was good. Three weeks later, we got an email that AI "picked up something" in the same area as the noted scratches upon our return. We have asked for photos (other than grainy AI images), a dated AI scan for the day we picked it up, but we have had no response other than we owe them money. Since we picked up the car at a different location than Orly, I don't believe they have a before AI image and they are trying to scam us. This is disappointing, because Sixt was recommended to us, but we will no longer be using their services.

Yes, I admit I should have paid more attention to the contract being presented -- but after over 9 hours of travel, I was exhausted and blindly trusted what I was being told. Car Rental Experience with Europcar -- A Warning to Future Customers…read moreIn May 2025, I rented a car from Europcar in France using their official website. Everything seemed normal: I selected a vehicle, chose rental dates (May 3 to May 6), and picked a specific pickup and drop-off location -- Paris CDG Airport Terminal 2D. I prepaid for the rental, and 159.78 EUR was charged to my card. The confirmation email clearly stated that this amount included all taxes, fees, and charges. Everything appeared transparent. When I arrived to pick up the car, the Europcar agent asked a standard question: "Where will you be driving?" I replied that I was going from France to Amsterdam. At no point was I informed that a cross-border fee would apply. Traveling within the Schengen Area should not incur any special charges -- there are no tolls, no customs, and no restrictions on movement. Also, the agent did not mention any extra charge for using a "premium location", even though this location was pre-selected on their website as a standard pickup point. A deposit of over 500 EUR was also blocked on my card. Later, part of this was returned, but 60.17 EUR was retained without proper explanation. Eventually, I received a final invoice for 219.95 EUR, which included several unexpected fees: Cross Border Fee -- 32.02 € Premium Station Surcharge -- 25.31 € Environmental Contribution -- 14.40 € I learned about these charges only after the rental ended, with no chance to opt out or be properly informed in advance. The main message for future renters: You will never know the final amount you'll actually pay. Even if you're told everything is included upfront, Europcar may add surprise fees after the rental ends. I have filed a complaint with Europcar's customer service and the European Consumer Centre but have not received a meaningful response. I do not recommend Europcar to anyone who values transparency and fair treatment. Share this post to warn others.

They dropped the car off right on…read moretime, had a location tracker on the car as it got close and made my departure from downtown Paris easy. Drop off was easy too. I hadn't planned properly for traffic and was able to shift my arrival time back online and they picked up the car in another downtown Paris spot (be sure to do so far enough ahead of time, I did it 2 hrs before per their instructions). No conventional rental car process, happy customer!

Rented a car from Paris Gare de Lyon. It's confusing to find Hertz because it is not where the…read moreother agencies are that the train station directs you to- if you follow the signs for rental cars within the station it takes you to Avis and some other agencies but you are literally on the opposite side of the station from Hertz. Hertz is in the Centre Gamma- Google maps will show you basically where. It is one story up from street level. Took us a long time to find the office. No one from Hertz would answer their phone when I called for directions. Once finally there-getting the car was OK. The office will direct you to the 4th or 5th level underground to retrieve your car. People there are somewhat friendly but don't do a good job of helping you that much. Our car was good and worked out well. Now, I would give zero stars for Hertz's expectations of returning the car. You must return it full of gas but the gas station directly by Hertz which they list first (Esso Express) will not accept any foreign credit cards so you will be SOL and have to either return the car without filling it up and pay like €100+ to Hertz or find the other gas station nearby that is hard to find and a bit of a confusing drive. Was pretty stressful. The other station they recommend Total Bercy at 238 Rue de la Charenton worked out fine but was like 15 mins away and a difficult Paris drive for someone not experienced with the city. So all in all the car was good. Now that I worked out all the kinks I would be better prepared for a future rental from this location.
